Myling Tip: use the SOUND SENSOR. If you get into a situation where Myling is still an option on your No Evidence runs, place a Sound Sensor in the ghost room/ area where the ghost is roaming. Use the Sound Activity monitor in the truck and watch the sound bar. All ghosts will have a bit of sound activity, but what you're looking for with a Myling is excessive sound with no Activity on the monitor below. The sound bar for a Myling will reach halfway and you'll see near full bars of sound more often when the activity monitor shows no activity. While the Myling is described as a quiet ghost, it's quiet without using the proper equipment to detect it. I'm not saying that each sound bar activity will reach halfway, I'm saying it will more often and will max out when there is no activity. Other ghosts will have sound activity with each interaction. Try using the sound sensor in each match to get an idea as to the sound levels of the other ghosts, you'll see the difference when you come across the Myling. Spend a little more time in the truck and utilize the sound sensor and activity monitors. :) Good Luck

The Sound Sensors and Sound Activity Monitor do serve a purpose. ;) There's more of a learning curve if you play in multiplayer because you have to determine if the noise is from the ghost or from a teammate talking, closing doors, dropping items, or causing any action to create noise the sound sensor is picking up. If it's just you, it's much easier to determine. Sound Sensors are great on larger maps to help you determine which area the ghost is in.

As for the cursed possessions, sure you can trigger a hunt and have better odds of figuring it out. Your tips are helpful to those that don't want to learn how to use the Sound Sensor.
I think a cool concept instead of "no evidence" would be "all evidence" so every ghost gives every evidence (except mimic which does NOT have orbs) but you have to figure them out based on their unique interactions. This allows players to learn unique interactions with extra obake fingers (or missing print) and goryo DOTS and Deo spirit box etc. and stull be challenged.
@@yazram3205 He's saying that every ghost would give off all the types of evidence, then inverting the Mimic's ability of always orbs to never orbs. So say you have Spirit in this hypothetical mode. The Spirit would give off Dots, Spirit box, EMF 5, Orbs, Ghost Writing, Freezing temps, and Fingerprints. This basically would allow the abilities that rely on evidence existing to still work, whilst the evidence itself would be useless. That's also why inverting Mimic's Ghost Orb ability would be needed in that mode, otherwise it would still blend in.
I remember when me and my friend got our first red light ghost event we thought it was hunting, screamed and ran straight outside the house. We didn’t realize that you can’t leave the house during a hunt 😂

Back in the days before Nightmare, when a ghost caught you during a hunt, it would make a sound similar to a ghost event that walked into you. It'd be cool for that to return in this fashion - you get jumpscared with one of those ghost noises when contact-ending a "hunt", but not killed.
Maybe an 1 Evidence with Friendly Ghost could be more interesting. So we can see the Ghost special evidence abilities like the Obake or the Deogen actually be usefull. More stuff to do.
I played this game for the first time in probably a year. Had to try Solo on a Friendly Ghost. Even though the ghost can't harm you, the game still has a pretty scary atmosphere.
Imagine a group of ghosts that can curse a target player and when that player leaves the haunted building that targeted player gets teleported back inside the building during hunts
I think it’s a bit much to teleport a player. However, I think it would be very cool if a ghost would target a player until they were dead or left. So the player goes in and immediately a hunt is triggered. They hide and survive the hunt and then manage to run out of the house afterwards. But then the next time they go in the house, boom triggers a hunt. If they survive the hunt and stay in the house the ghost will not hunt. It will still do all it’s normal interactions and events but not hunt. The player would have to leave and re-enter to trigger the hunt. It would take like two hunts at least in multiplayer for the group to figure out that the player has been targeted. In single player it would be more obvious but that’s fine. Every ghost needs something special outside of evidence.
The reason the mirror incentivizes people looking longer the way it works is because if someone looks at it for 3 seconds they lose about 41% sanity, but if they pull it up 3x times for less than a second each time they lose 60% sanity, so it makes it more worthwhile to look longer and try to figure it out by the surroundings rather than pulling it up multiple times to guess where it is.
I wish there was another game mode with friendly ghost. The ghost would be normal at first, but less and less active as the people lose sanity starting from 50%, then it would go dormant when they hit 0%. That way it would be a whole different challenge. Figure out the ghost while you still can..
@@frostguard1283 The entire game can be exploited by a candle. It still doesn't protect you from ghost events on the other hand so you will lose sanity eventually. I don't see how it would be worse.

I don't have a ton of hours in the game, I'm only around level 250, and this video is so helpful for me. I've been playing a lot more phas in public lobbies to learn some tips and tricks from higher level players (usually level 1k or 2k) and I've slowly but surely been learning how to play the game more efficiently... but less than 5 minutes into this video and you've already taught me three things I didn't know. It's super cool to see you show off what you've learned in all your playtime!

Last time I tried testing the ParaMic on a Myling, I got 1 whisper every 30 seconds almost on the dot every time for about 5 minutes. Not sure if that's the average for Myling or if this Myling was extra chatty, but it's worth looking into.

Psycho released a video almost a week ago showing that the sanity system is completely broken ever since the lighting update and needs fixed, you're essentially losing maximum sanity nearly all the time, the lights don't hardly help anymore for preventing sanity loss.
The ghost does a huge event, and blows out a lightbulb. Insym just looks at the ghost the way you would look in amazement at a five year old pitching a fit!
Such a fun challenge! It really does make you feel like a genius when you get it right. Almost yelled when I asked the ouija board the age for the second time and it had gone up! So cool!
Back when the phasmo discord had idea proposal i remember proposing an idea of coding in that you will not get the same ghost twice in a row by just insuring the next ghost will not be the same one as a previous one, and if possible, just reducing the chances of getting the same ghost for the next 5 or so missions. Only proposed this cause it was a constant issue for me and friends and I still get constant Yureis lmao
I would suspect the mirror cost is an issue of how it was expressed to the developer. For example, if the request was "The mirror should have a minimum cost of 20%" there are two interpretations. 1) 20+(7.5/s) 2) Max(20,7.5/s)

All this proves is that this game is VERY reliant on the ghost's hunting mechanic... A mechanic in which the game refuses to teach you itself and instead opts to leave you asking around randomly for answers. Cool

I think they should make it so a ghost will still use a crucifix if it would hunt due to an ability even on a friendly ghost. This would allow demons and yokai to be worked out. Also, an Obake should have an equal chance to change forms for a ghost event (like 2%, which would be rare as hell in an average game).
The mirror thing sounds like someone explained to the dev "It should immediately remove 20% and drop 7% after that" rather than it clamping to 20% minimum. Cause neither of these things are difficult to understand and I just don't see a dev getting that wrong without a comms mixup. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the devs are fucking with you and have mimic set as a higher chance xD
Blech, 8 ghosts require hunts or evidence to identify: Spirit, Onryo, Revenant, Raiju, Deogen, Demon, Yokai, Obake. And some of the other ghosts will be hella hard (Hantu, Myling, Oni, Shade).

In regards to that patch note, I don't play this game but I've seen multiple people play it so take this with a grain of salt: from what I understand, the mirror will show you where the ghost is located. The patch notes according to you say, "It's a minimum of 20 sanity to encourage the players to look longer". It may be a phrasing issue in the patch notes. I.e. the devs may have meant they want you to look around the HOUSE longer instead of defaulting to the mirror to find the ghost room. It seems like the mirror is meant to be a hint, not a go-to resource.
30:30 you entered the house spent ~40 seconds in dark so ~4-5% sanity drop plus 20% min drop from mirror glance = ~75-76% sanity and it was 70% in truck. So mirror is 20% BASE for a glance plus ~6-7% a second STACKED putting you at 70% which is correct. From what I can tell when you look at the mirror its auto 25-27% for 1 second plus 7% per second. It still incentivizes looking for longer but also makes it so IF you look for ~1 second you still get punished ~25-27% so the patch notes are correct it said -20 minimum plus 7 per second so if u look for .0000001 seconds u get - 20% but if u look for 1 second u get 25-27%. if it was 2 seconds it would be 32-34% etc.

I still feel the whole "gather so many evidence items then guess what kind of ghost it is" puzzle gameplay is kind of boring when every level is like that. I'd love a Phasmo style game with different kinds of levels not just different ghosts.

I still feel the whole "gather so many evidence items then guess what kind of ghost it is" puzzle gameplay is kind of boring when every level is like that. I'd love a Phasmo style game with different kinds of levels not just different ghosts.

I enjoyed the challenge and want to see it done again without all the mimics but Insym couldnt help that.

I’ve also been wondering. If you ask “are you friendly” on the spirit box, the ghost usually replies with “die” or something like that. So friendly ghosts reply the same or do they have a custom response? Would love to see you try this, though I’m not sure you would play on a mode like that normally…
I tried to guess the challenge what your'e doing but i failed i accept it and i watched it and now i know how hard this challenge is its pretty hard seriously if the ghost won't do anything then how can we know what it is its total pain in the butt
before watching the video, i think the challenge is friendly ghost no evidence making it purely based on ghost behavior only.
