Glad you had a good stay. Been to that bothy a couple of times but never stayed. Bit of history of the bothy if you aren't aware, it's actually the site of James of the Glen's Croft. He was found guilty of the Appin Murder, although even the judge knew he didn't do it, and was hanged at Ballachuillish in 1752. His body was left hanging for months as a warning to others. There is a memorial at the South Side of the Ballachuillish bridge at the execution site. The Appin murder is the basis of R L Stevenson's book, Kidnapped. A cracking read. All that from a wee bothy 🙂
Glad you decided to stay the night , though the previous post about the history of the bothy spooked me! The takes on the different paths were beautiful; all the lush bright green moss and grass is a treat to the eyes. We don’t have anything that remotely looks like that here ☹️Nice to see you do an unusually easy hike (By your standards, not mine) for a change. You’re a most gracious and considerate steward, to clean the bothy, before and after. Pasta bolognese was the perfect choice for a rainy day. Thanks for a delightful video.
Thanks for this man! Looks like a fine bothy in an attractive area of Scotland. Never been yet. You did well to go there in a bad weather, this one may be too busy to go to in a nice weather day I guess. Enjoyed video. A lot of work with camera. Cheers.
Hi 👋, ja wir haben hier Recht viele von den Hütten welche von den MBA (mountain bothy association) betrieben werden. Die Nutzung ist umsonst, spenden sind aber gerne gesehen. Gruß Stripey
Thanks a lot Leon! According to the book it is rather busy at the weekends so if you want to have for yourself I assume the chances are best during the week. Cheers Stripey
Spent the night here a few weeks ago. It really is a beautiful location and the hike was excellent as well. Unfortunately my SD card was corrupt and I lost the whole nights footage which is absolutely devastating because the break in the clouds allowed me to get some absolutely stunning shots of the stars. Nice little bothie but I did have to fight 3 mice who were looking to spend the night in my sleeping bag! Great video mate.
Thanks a lot MaliceGLA 👋, yeah it will be quiet a long one with 3 days, not a scramble due to the weather but nevertheless an adventure 😎👍 Thanks for watching! ATB Stripey
Ok Stripey , now that you had an easy hike on this trip, I expect from you nothing less than a big windy and rainy summit camp on your next one with some river crossing and lots of midges 😋 thanks for the video 👋
Hi Stripey. Very chilled camp. You did a great job cleaning the Bothy, the next campers will be happy! Can I ask what kind of mesh you used on you alcohol burner Stripey? ATB Serk
Thanks a lot Seek! The mesh makes apparently the flame picture more even...I am not sure about it but hence I bought the mesh I use it. The mesh is from AliExpress 'steel woven wire mesh', 40 mesh (USD 2.73). ATB Stripey
Nice vlog, so sorry that others left the bothy in such a poor state. It is not so difficult to sweep the floor, clear the grate, and take your garbage home with you is it? To be fair to others, this is the first bothy I have seen where you had to clean up, but even once it is not so tricky is it? Love the vlogs - love sharing your journey.
Yeah definitely, is probably a problem of easy to reach places where people have not necessarily the right mindset...I mean who leaves open bread and half full milk boxes???

Thanks a lot for the history to the bothy Argyll Diving!

Love it when you walk in and say 'excellent ' and then put your towel down. Great video.
I actually stayed in this Bothy when I was 12. It's really lovely

Zufällig auf diesen Kanal gekommen. Tolles Video, habe garnicht gewusst, dass es solche Häuser gibt in Schottland. Echt interessant!

Is a nice place, but a kind of wet from the inside in comparison to other places. Prefer other bothies to this one 😉
Always a bonus when the Bothy is unooccupied!!!😁 ATB!!!
Yeah absolutely, otherwise I wouldn't film 😉👍
Nice one Stripey, a pity with the weather...still looking forward to your trip with Sam wonder what you guys will do 😊
Thanks a lot MaliceGLA 👋,

I enjoy your content. Needs to gave more narrative to let us know your journey, and make a bit longer. Even showing how you cook. 😊😊
Thanks for the tips!
Cracking bothy Stripey 👍 well done on getting out in those conditions 👏 you must have the pasta bolognese perfected by now 🍝 atb Brian 👍

Fantastic views as always.
A nice wee relaxing bothy night to recover from your hangover eh. 😉

@@StripeyHatGuy Thanks Stripey. My burner works fine, just thought the mesh looks neat. Look forward to your next adventure!

What stove is that buddy?
good little night that. Shame you had to sweep up and clear out ash from previous users :-(
Hi topfloorboy 👋,
hopefully this is the minority, otherwise the bothies will be at some point history...
Thanks for watching

Hey mate nice one 👍 Going to catch up big man :)
Thanks a lot Peter! 🙌
Definitely disappointing to find the place untidy from the previous users🤔
You know who you are!!!
Yeah definitely, is probably a problem of easy to reach places where people have not necessarily the right mindset...I mean who leaves open bread and half full milk boxes???
Previous geezers left it in a right dodgy condition eh?
