Tips to make your experience easier after watching this video: 1. You do NOT need to remove the coolant overflow reservoir hose. Just lift reservoir up and put it off to the side with hose attached. Less chance of spilling any coolant. 2. You do NOT need to remove the right front tire. Just turn the steering all the way to the left to allow access through the wheel well liner. Other than that, great how-to video!
I remember the old days where you undid 3 screws in front of the headlight, with nothin in the way, took the trim ring off, popped he old bulb out and replaced it and put the 3 screws back in. 1 mins later you weren't swearing up and down and already moving on with your life.
And when you changed the old headlight, you got a brand new clear lens that would never yellow or cloud up.....and for cheaper than you now pay for just a bulb.....sigh.....
I actually think he did it so he could show more on camera. It's ok if you have a compressor handy, otherwise, just turning the wheel is much easier to think about.
Kudos for demonstrating both sides. Most videos I've seen only show the easy one (left side or driver's side in the USA). Even though removing the tire on the right side improved your video it's quicker if you just turn the steering to the left to provide a little extra space. Also, I found that there's a plastic clip to remove in the fender well. Great video. Thanks for posting. You would probably get more views if you edited your title to add "BOTH sides". :)
My daughter and I are doing this tomorrow. Thank you for the video Honda so stupid to make the fender come off to do a light bulb. Change over but oh well.
Thanks, nice to see another video showing this, much appreciated. Taking out the bottom bolt seems like a good idea. Not sure what Honda was thinking here, it' just doesn't seem like something they'd normally do, but it is, what it is.
Thank you so much for the video! My right headlight bulb burned out and I changed the left one by myself followed your video but could not change the right one because of lacking equipment. Also when I was working on the left one, I found my coolant reservoir is below min. I went to my local jiffy lube, and the guy didn't go through the panel, he use a screwdriver and hand to push for several minutes and finally get the light off and then install the new one. I tried that by myself but not work. I don't know how he does but he did it. All he charged is $5.99 for the coolant and tips. I have $10 cash on my hand and he said that is fine.😂
Try taking out the bulb with the plug still connected. Then you can use a small flat head screwdriver. Just BE CAREFUL to avoid breaking the plastic clip on the connector.

Definitely the best video on how-to do both low beam headlights on this version Honda Civic. Excellent video quality and detailed explanation.
thanks for the compliment.

I had this exact conversation with my friend who helped me with this yesterday

@@edwardchristophersen9160 A glass and metal one that was simple to recycle unlike this plastic crap
Thanks. I was able to change the bulbs in 10 minutes. I did as others suggested and turned the wheel to the left for the passenger side bulb.

You can also turn the passenger wheel to the left, rather than removing it. Time saver!

Yeah, there are multiple ways to do it.
Awesome. Thanks for showing step by step very helpful
Thanks "Chief!!!" This will help a lot. Hope you have a video on replacing the clear coat on the front fenders😃
I am in the process of sanding and priming the whole car. I am not good with painting so I will take it to a friend to have him do the painting.
Nice straightforward video. No bs 👍
Thank you so much for showing it, super easy! I will do it myself tomorrow and save some $$ - Thank you!

Dope video and Dope SI, with the MOTEGI'S!!!!
hahaha... the car needs new paint.
Any thoughts or ideas on how to get the right side off? The white plug will not come off the bulb

Thanks for the extra detail taken.. was helpful.
Thanks! Great tutorial....
The right headlight was such a pain in the ass. But thank you!
What if it don’t seat flat? I changed the left side fine but the right side didn’t wanna seat flat at all like it didn’t fit…
It must seat flat to create a seal. Try to reinstall.
were your headlights dim or not working at all? mine look dim and i think they need to be placed,
I would replace the bulbs if they are dim.
Thank you, very detailed
Thanks, good video in detail
Thanks for the information and video
Got the new bulb in the housing somehow but i can't turn it to lock it in
Are you turning the bulb clockwise?
Why is there a metal panel between me and the bulb in my 08 civic :(
There should not be any metal panel. All 06-11 Civic coupes should be the same procedure.
Thank you
Thanks great video
Actually you can access the driver side bulb from the top.
That's what he did.
thsnk youuu
Looks like my paint.
Every grey Civic I see is in the same condition!
@@OEMEangg Every 8th gen I think. It's not the color it's the paint quality.
Can't screw the new one in. No hand space!
Go through the wheel well. You should have plenty of space.
Yet you had enough 'hand space' to remove the old bulb?
😂
