I just picked up Wave Of Light, after using Age of Innovation, and before that Sonic Co-op. It's not that good, and the two second duration *is* BS, even though I only have 1/4 so far, no real reason to max it either. I like scout rifles though, and I am experimenting with Silly Weeper on Viessa. She does okay, but Age of Innovation has much better handling, and Sonic Co-op as well
My roll does not include crit rate. Shoot once, Reload and unload for 100 crit rate and repeat after the 5th shot. Double Reload mods with no crit rate mod and only add crit damage mods. I use it for LEPIC with his Fire Arm Master to trigger the skill range on his traction grenade, and with FIRE RATE UP AND SHARP PRECISION SHOT, it gives you the fire rate up on his ultimate. Also, Green Ammo has the wind up at 0.4 vs. all other ammo is at 0.5 for the full wind up of his ultimate ability.
it seems pretty dumb they wouldn't have the buff built around dumping the mag with the buff. that said- 'all weapons give 100% crit' is kinda a dumb unique mechanic to keep replicating everywhere.
@@DonPetexXafter reloading, 100% crit chance is guaranteed for 2 seconds. It takes about 2.5 sec to unload all bullets. So your crit mod kicks in for the last half second. But you shouldn't waste a slot for a crit mod. You get lower overall DPS if you follow this video guide.
I was thinking they could maybe make the duration increase by 0.2 seconds for every successful weakpoint hit. This would allow you to maintain the 100% critbuff on your weapon as long as you are quick and accurate with your shots, meaning increase magazine capacity and real life fighter or even sharp precision shot could be good with the weapon. This would also unintentionally make the gun good with gley though, I am not really sure if that's a huge deal though since gley already has a lot good options to contest for. For a more balanced take increasing the duration to 4 or 5 seconds would be nice. Maybe a weird idea, what if the solar halo duration was double your reload time? So if you have a 1 second reload you'd have 2 seconds of wave of light, but if you have 2 priority mods you could have potentially up to 7 seconds.
My Hailey has been stuck on the finished research for weeks. And now I have a bit more resources, I wonder if I should do some gun build first before Hailey. And which gun, may be a latest season 1 tier list? My descendants are mostly skill-centic, Bunny, Lepic, Freyna.
@unknown-ldn6337 I use the gun as a staple and it isn't that bad. It slightly breaks up the tedium of just hold left click. Not sure the devs can produce a truly fun gun.
The weapon has grown on me. I used it before the buff and now I use it all the time. You can get a very chunky number with Dopaminergic Activator. The reload buff/restriction is fine because it gets me to pay attention a bit more to hit my reloads at the right time compared to everything else which is just shoot until reload or reload during down time.
So by giving the buff for the duration of an entire clip with a cooldown it would be more restrictive than having it on demand for 10 rounds of the clip. So the perk would need to be much more potent. I guess I am not seeing why people just want a thing that melts things when we have so many things that already melt everything. I hope the devs can test their weapons without the perks and ask themselves is this fun to use without a millionbajillion damage coming out of it?
Then the question would be why use it, when the next weapon is more effective. It is a problem in the game, or maybe the design of weapons. For instance I would probably rather use Age of Innovation, it handles better and you can shoot at your own pace, rather than mag dump. It has about the same base attack, and what this leads to is you at stand off range, laying down rapid support fire, on multiple targets. That is great for scout rifles. Full Measure mentioned that WoL definitely isn't a mobbing weapon, but it isn't an exceptional boss killer either, so why use it?
@keungwan5901 Currently because other guns are boring. Could scout rifles get a global tweak to fill a role? Sure. Does content for that role exist? Huge doubt. Devotion probably out damages WoL but my experience is that WoL does plenty of damage and has a scope. It can boss just fine. Not sure why guns are put into a one gun vs boss bubble when the game let's you have 3.
@thorinhannahs4614 I guess because you can only use one gun at a time. I carry three, and can have 20 in my backpack, but I don't switch out in combat, Especially against bosses. So I tend to use the hardest hitting one, To end combat quicker. What else would there be?
@@keungwan5901 If the idea is to just end combat against bosses quicker than using Hailey and Lepic would cover that. If ending combat against mobs faster is the goal then just use Freyna or Bunny. If big number is the only goal then you may be happy with one gun. I'd like gunplay and mechanics to be engaging. Sure I have all the best guns but that doesn't mean I enjoy using them.
@@thorinhannahs4614 We were talking about guns, in particular Wave of Light scout rifle. As in anyone can use any of the guns, but only Bunnies and Freynas have their AoE skills. So, I don't think that is relevant in a Wave of Light video by Full Measure. I didn't say end combat against bosses quicker, I said end combat quicker (in general). Now, Gley is a gun user, so why would she use Wave of Light over any of her arsenal. After two seconds it becomes a rather meh rifle, so I think even Gley has better options.
I've been on the fence about catalyzing this. I have all the meta guns built too and now just trying to make things fun. My hope was to get numbers similar to Devotion with Crit and weak point hits. THis will probably be my next build after Peace Maker. They need to really up the single shot damage on the slower weapons though. Why can't the base crit be higher so when we build into it it feels good. I don't get it
I have just picked this up, and have it at 1/4. I wouldn't catalyse it, I have much better things to spend them on. If you have a truckload of catalysts, go for it, but I am at a stage of building up my team.
I've build every weapon and every character and several weapons and descendants need a buff. As for the wave of light is a decent weapon, not great not bad, just decent.
That is one of the biggest problems with TFD, there are no alternatives to the meta. Another big issue, with weapon perks specifically, is that the perks require a ridiculous ritual just to get 2 seconds of a nonsensical buff. Lastly, you mentioned the fact that you end up building for the perk instead of building to the weapon itself. With in that, we end up stacking crit on a weapon that has no base to begin with only because the perk is crit based. Nothing in this game makes sense. Even after you figure it out, nothing makes sense. TFD feels like the devs are just throwing shit at the wall, scraping it off the wall and duct taping it all together. But what does it matter when no content takes more than 3 minutes to complete and you can ride the coat tails of other players.
Yeah, I would agree. Age of Innovation is a much better rifle, handles better, and you can be at distance support, firing rapidly on multiple enemies. That is a good scout rifle, IMHO
I fully understand that you have to do this kind of test because youre a content creator I unlocked this weapon and I didn't like it. I only have 1 copie of this weapon.
Have you tried Wave of Light? Which other weapon did not deliver on your expectations?
@@theFullMeasure python is trash, frostwalker, not many are viable, several weapons need a buff or a rework.
I pair WoL with Enzo for infinite ammos. Down bosses almost as fast as Enduring Legacy. Outside of Enzo and Gley, this gun is not practical

I think you have enough uptime for 8 bullets before needing to reload, right?
I use it as a stat stick as well. Freyna's 4 and Lepic's 4. Otherwise I build it around the reload perk and just have a good time making light orbs.
@@taoday118without fire rate mods yes with fire rate mods its 10

1 problem I've noticed with wave of light is that you can't use all 12 shots with the buff up. 3 seconds should be the minimum
Yeah, you get about 9-10 bullets out, so yeah 3 secs would be awesome

@DonPetexX it makes crit irrelevant unless the buff is not up.
