Thank you Lisa for bringing us another interesting story and as always told by you beautifully. We love that you inspire us to get out explore and experience. What we love even more is that you bring the experience to those that can't. The carved Dorothy Tree is a great tribute. Also we are watching this on Veterans Day here in the US and we want to thank you for paying tribute to some of the soldiers from the past. All of the Men and Women in the Armed Forces all over the world need to be recognized and Thanked for all they do and have done. Have a wonderful day and Thank You so much for what you do.
@TravelWithLisaMH my dad and uncle are vets along with a couple other family members and then a few family friends so I have major respect for all military stuff
Dorothy’s parents and sister moved from Bloomington to Aberdeen, South Dakota after Dorothy died. That is where they are buried. And a fun fact about the newer headstone - it was made and donated by Mickey Carroll who played one of the Munchkins in the movie. His family had a business making headstones which he eventually took over. So he decided when he heard about the discovery of Dorothy’s grave to give her a little better headstone than her original one which was the small simple stone one.
