Hi John, it might be worth looking into the Amazon affiliate link program. Basically you get a kick back or small percentage of the total order very similar to bangood. It's doesn't matter if your buying machining parts or loo roll, a few of the larger TH-camrs use it as a means of generating revenue. ( Like this up guys so John notices )

If you think nylon is a difficult material, try PTFE rod, especially the pure ones, which need brand new sharp cutting edges if you want to have any sort of accurate cut.
A lead mine, interesting. Nowadays here in the United States you'd probably have to wear a full Hazmat suit with SCBA just to go into the mine much less do any exploring ;-)
