- Today phase 4 of Season of Discovery is releasing, bringing the single largest amount of class updates we have seen so far.
It's going to be really tricky to guess which class will be coming out on top given all the changes to classes/gearing/tier etc, but today I wanted to check out some of the classes which I think stand to gain the most from this latest patch.

Kinda ironic that Blizzard made spirit a good stat for warlock and simultaneously removed spirit from most of the caster gear.

Everyone I played with left SOD cause p3 was terrible. I feel like I check these videos but going back is a stretch
it wont be worth it likely, our group died as well in p3 and is split between the different 50 versions of wow

I'm probably coming back for p4 but whst went wrong for me in p3 was - I tried "suboptimal" specs and leveled almost exclusively in incursions. Now at 50, without dungeon gear I can't even manage completing a 50 incursion mission solo to get access to the incursion vendor.... my character can't handle the buffed enemies... so not playing according to guides I feel incredibly subpar as if I was 5 levels lower than I actually am...

I think people are overlooking how busted tree druids will be p4. 0 nerfs to speak of (WG is just getting tuned down to 80% healing for 80% mana cost), nourish is getting a massive buff with +50% crit chance which now makes the living seed rune viable, essentialy making noyrish crit for 300% healing, qnd tree form buffs every heal while reducing the mana cost. Also received a new healing CD with the buff to survival instincts. Resto was already the best healing output class and they got buffed significantly

On hunter, flanking only resets on claw/bite etc- not white hits. Flanking strike still does very little damage and doesn't proc very often when pets have focus dumped
But its written "Your pet's Basic attacks have a 33% chance...."

@@mix3r11 It was the same thing with Focus Fire. It said “Basic attack” which meant special attacks. I guess that is their internal lingo for it and white hits are called auto attacks.
If they could make rogues basically not forced into dagger spec, that would be a good start.
FRESH discovery: Nightfall procs now work in Meta form with shadow cleave and also doubles shadow cleave damage. Read the nightfall talent with meta rune equipped to see.

From what I've seen, the majority of rune abilities are from TBC and WotLK. Outside of those there are many runes from pretty much every expansion ever. And there are also quite a few completely new abilities and passive effects that have never existed in WoW before, which is cool.
It would be better if it was from retail. Those classes look good competitively.
@@sgtBONGwater if the classes and competition in retail is better go play it. Flooding classic with all retail spells and systems scared the classic players off, as per the comment section here.

you missed 3 huge things for ret paladin thats way better than exorcism. we get seal of martyr baseline through a book. we now can take Rebuke (melee 15s cd kick) because there isnt any contest in that rune slot, and with the other rune changes we can now take divine storm with martyr.
Not just that, but aura mastery and anti fear aura too. Pala feels great.
I really like what they did with Warlocks, but you forgot to mention the most important change. Many runes got moved to different slots enabling us to take strong rune combos that actually make sense. Incinerate is on wrist now instead of legs so all destro locks will ditch immolation aura on wrists and take demonic pact on legs. Mark of chaos is on feet now so locks can take this and still get the cape rune.

@@metreawow8937 yea, all destro locks will go incinerate over felguard and all aflic locks will go unstable affliction over felguard. Felguard is the Tank warlock pet since you get all the Master Demonologist talent buffs from it (as if you had all demons out)
@@metreawow8937 We tried to think of ways to get Felguard competitive without absolutely breaking it in pvp, but couldn't find a workable solution in the short window we had. The main way to 'fix' Felguard is actually to nerf Imp, but that wasn't a realistic possibility either since it would need to be a talent nerf (Improved Firebolt) and the devs communicated to me that doing overrides for talents is complicated and they prefer not to. At the end of our discussion, we and the dev didn't think Felguard could be fixed and dropped the subject. When the patch was posted, I was surprised to see it got both a sizable health and damage buff, since that affects pvp balance. Unfortunately this is far from enough to be competitive with Imp which just completely outscales FG. Currently FG serves as a tank rune for extra defense via Master Demonologist, giving up Immolation Aura, which is generally more offensive.
even hearing "class balancing" in the first few lines makes me chuckle.. my fresh 60 druid with full phase3 bis was just killed in winterspring.. by a lvl 55 shaman.. in 1.5 seconds xDD

Spirit for warlocks just feels wrong, they have the WORST regen per spirit of all the classes and their first tier talent even removes a % of their spirit.

Once p3 was about midway through tragedy struck my guild (Riff Raff) and the guild fell apart within 2 weeks. Quit afterwards because my irl friends and the really cool guildmates all stopped playing. Been getting an itch to go back to p4.

Quite literally the most despised paladin ability ever conceived. I don't even play paladin and I'm upset they didn't get long arm of the law
They took it from d3 crusader and it's a popular ability.
Feels good and is unique.
@Sultschiem d3 is designed where 3 seconds can traverse a full stage, mmos are slower, having a 15 to 30 second mounted combat buff to supplement other more on demand 5-10 second movespeed buff and noone would be upset by the horse. It's just that right now, 3 second of 100% speed doesn't feel good to use, even with 2 charges. For alot of people at least

The fact that warrior STILL havnt gotten a bladestorm rune is reason enough for me to NOT want to play SOD.

Game is lots of fun if you avoid the shit that sucks. I do wish the levelling buff wasn't quite as dramatic so I didn't outlevel zones, I'd love somewhere from 25-50%. However, if you avoid incursions and toxic raiding groups I've had a blast in the other 3 phases and I'm keen to jump back in.
I also will say that as much as I love Vanilla and I don't necessarily love all the changes to each class - which have gone far beyond balancing out classes and making each spec viable - it's fun to have a few more abilities in rotations and this is a much more manageable game to dip into for 5-10 hours a week than Vanilla is IMO. Maybe that's my fault as I can't seem to enjoy Vanilla if I'm not absolutely balls-to-the-wall levelling for multiple hours a day hahahaa

I'm only sad for how balance druids are being treated. They gave cool stuff to every spec and class while balance druid only got viable
Fuck, I hate Divine Steed. Ruining immersion since Legion, and now ruined my classic pally for me too. :'(
I am not that big of a fan of divine steed either from a game play perspective but i do not understand your point of view on it ruining immersion. I feel like the only reason they have kept divine steed around is because of the immersion. Being the holy knight that rides into battle on their steed is the quintessential trope of the holy fighter.
@@kylesmith987 I just really don't like a big horse instantly appearing under me and then instantly disappearing. I think I would like it better if i.e. your would just run at a higher speed, similar to Charge, but with a some kind of twist.
@@Tudvari They had that before divine steed. I believe it was called long arm of the law. Judge gave something like a 50% movement speed increase for a couple of seconds.

Okay, but when you say “and so on”….. rogues are getting legitimate aoe threat now, right? Because rogue group tanking has been a joke since launch. Group “threat” as a rogue was “use up your combo points and then target the other mob” in phase one, then 2 and 3 they gave us a pitiful multi-target attack that is less threat than any cleave attack from a dps. Please tell me they’ve stopped laughing at rogue tanks

Rogue tanking still sucks. 90 % of groups looking for members for BRD are looking for either tanks, healers, or damage dealers (lvl 56+). So, if you are a rogue at lvl 51, you have no chance of getting a group, except as a tank. But then... AOE tanking still sucks. None of the three new runes generates enough aggro. If I want to spam fan of knives, it costs 50 energy. That means, I can do it approx. each 5 seconds (I know there is some energy regen through focused attacks, but that hardly does a difference). But then this is the ONLY ability that I can use. E.g. a paladin can cast consecration, holy shield, divine storm and several other spells besides that SIMULTANEOUSLY.
Then you have the minmaxers who want to level as fast as possible and want to pull 3 groups at once. There is absolutely zero chance to tank that as a rogue.
So instead of enabling more classes to tank in SOD, they gatekeep that role for literally no reason. Everybody needs tanks, I would like to tank (so I can find a group), but Blizzard does not want me to.
They just overdid it with SOD. Started out well and they did what Blizz does

Why do warlock KEEP getting more life steal/HPS?? Don't they have enough blizzard? It's plenty that you made them able to run with their drain life, even tho that also sucks.
Feral swipe is god mode for aoe pulls. easily @ 2.5k dps on aoe pulls in 50 gear.
AOE tanks just work better. If people want to "ruin Classic with MDI strats" that's just too bad, it's needed to keep those DPS people from getting wrecked when they spam AOE all over the place. Thumbs up!

I play shaman, good and all, but everyone is insta cast now, while shaman continues hard casting 90% of the time
If they want people to come back to SOD they need to strip back and simplify, not keep adding and adding new things.

The change to hand of Rag killed any hope i had for 2h enh to be any good at end game. 2h was already completely troll compared to DW, but now the iconic Enh/Ret weapon is feral bis? nah im good gl sod devs.
Dumbest decision to have such an iconic weapon be invisible when worn by a Druid. How stupid are they.
I don't have a problem with making it good for feral druids as well as long as it remains good for enh/ret as well. Based on looking at it doesn't look like it is any worse for enh/ret, all i see is that they slapped a bunch of AP onto it when in feral form and improved the proc slightly which i might add increases the fire and holy damage the target receives which is good for ret ironically. Not sure why this is an issue that the item has been expanded to fit more classes that could already use it anyways.

But my comment was moreso the fact that taking it on enh where it's probably going to be straight up worse than some 1h epics, over a feral where it's probably BiS is troll. As a long time CLassic Shaman enjoyer, I was really excited to see enh get the love the spec needed, but the direction they took the spec (its basically just wotlk enh) was deflating. Oh well I had my fun with SoD, and will remember S1 for a long time.

The changes for Hunter are insane. It's missing that they can Tank and Heal then i've seen everything
