York is full of interesting phenomenon. I've visited a few times. One of the places I went to was the basement where the Roman legion was seen marching through. Great stuff. I love that city.
Really great! Thank you! One quibble: I think the animated legionary standard shown when talking about the 6th Legion shows Legio VI FERRATA, which I think was a different 6th Legion. I think the one at Eboracum was Legio VI VICTRIX, an apparently related but different legion.
@@rovercoupe7104 ah...that is me then ...i tend to just keep quiet about those.. rather out of date now.. i was writing an omnibus sequel with updates and many new accounts, plus haunted RAF pubs, Aircraft Crashes, wandering Airmen's ghosts and more - but i've sort of lost all interest in it now
they are part of a long term project - the ghosts of Roman Britain which i have been compiling for a number of years from various sources.... all my accounts are written up in a rather large manuscript but it is not ready for publication...it may in fact never be published
Ah, ok, good to know! But are there any written sources you’re drawing on (particularly the accounts of the 20th c sightings like the soldiers in the cellar of the haberdasher Arkwright or the 1958 battle in Church street seen by Mrs Taylor and Mrs Harding or the 1972 sighting in the Memorial Gardens by Harry Gregg) that one could use for ‘further reading’ or are they taken mostly from interviews, etc, you’ve done? Many thanks!
there are in a number of sources - but i'm not at home at present and cant dig them out....Alan Robson springs to mind though ... there are other accounts not included which were related to me directly
