    I have to admit that I really enjoyed watching the unraveling of an original bank roll of silver dimes. Even though they are common dates, the feeling is one of great pleasure because of seeing the beauty preserved in these coins over the years. Just remarkable! Thank you for letting a fellow collector watch you reveal these in live time!

    I WISH so much I would have known and understood more about coins when I was a
    Kid. I remember spending dimes just like this. Also mercury dimes! There was this container in my parents desk which they used to keep change in for our school lunches! Every day we would take out 35 cents to buy lunch. I remember using mercury dimes that were so shiny and never thought nothing about it! Wish I had them now! Thank you for this video! They certainly are beautiful!!

    I got a bank roll of Roosevelt silver dimes a couple years back. From Chicago federal reserve. 1955-S. What I found was pretty incredible. There had been a die crack visible on the reverse side over the D in some when these were being pumped out. I found 8 consecutive dimes with the same die crack line on same exact spot in the roll of 50. Really cool stuff.

    Sweet. Also shows how different environments and years age differently. I bought a BU 1955 dime roll a few months back and I had some that looked as beautiful as those 62’s but I also had a good bit of toning in a lot of them too.

    I picked up two of the 5 dollar rolls of mercury dimes last week and of course i had to open them to make sure they were right but although they were circulated, they were wrapped up in rolls fpr the last 60+ years and theyre beautiful! Its one of my favorite coin/silver purchases of all time! Lots of D's in there too! I have about 14 of the denver minted mercs in that set of 100

      welcome to the world of beautiful silver...I fell in love with silver when I was a little kid. I have no idea why. It was $5/oz, sometimes less. I could never understand it. I will always consider it the most beautiful of the precious metals. I love gold, too. But there's something about silver. The way it sounds when you click it up into the air, that very distinctive, full-throated silver tone that it makes. Contrast it with the tinny sound that fake coin-money makes.

    Great video, Thanks. Just think how much was 5 dollars in 1962. I occasionally do some roll hunting, I would flip out if I were to come across a roll like that. I don't know if coin roll hunting was popular at that time, but could you imagine getting not only unc. silver dimes, but quarters & halfs. However 5, & 10 dollars was a lot of money for the average person back then, and probably just seen as regular change. At that time 90% silver didn't hold the importance to the average person as it does today.

    Imagine. Its late 1962 and you walk into a bank and ask for 5 dollars worth of dimes. The teller would say "you are in luck sir, we just had the mint deliver a few BOXES of dimes". I would change my mind and ask for a $250 BOX. That would be a dream come true if I had a time machine. Plus quarters, plus halves. 1962 would definitely be a good year to go back too...😅

    Maybe you should send one of those in to be graded, just to have one of those 1962s graded as MS. They’d definitely come back MS68-70.

    • @damiencurrency15
      @damiencurrency15 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe Shmoe okay? What do you think they’d come back as? Those coins have not been touched since they were sealed in the roll. So 68-70 is a reasonable grade.

    I know the feeling. While I was buying a man’s collection/ accumulation I just started buying all of his stuff. I mean he had nickels, dimes (from mercury to Roosevelt but all of them were silver) . It got to the point where I would take a stack, weigh out a few and then weigh out the rest to get an somewhat number of coins. Be them dimes, quarters or halves. I then checked out my red book, looked for an average price and added a bit more for silver and made him an offer. Like I said this accumulation halves, commemorative coins quarters, dimes and war nickels. When all was said and done I rounded up giving him $ 6000 for it . He seemed pleasantly surprised and happy with my offer. There were rolls of dimes, quarters & halves. The dimes, particularly had several rolls that were from the early 1960s and they looked like bank rolls . I was not disappointed . I was capable of filling several books of nickels, dimes both Roosevelt and mercury, quarters and halves.while I wasn’t able to completely fill the entire books I was able to do more than one of each.
    Oh yeah the reason I started this diatribe was that 2-3 rolls of Roosevelt dimes were in high end MS condition. I tried to rewrap them in their original wrappers
    Sorry for the length of this little rendition of one of my buying experiences. But the unwrapping of dimes just brought it back to me.

    A silvery edge color may return for the future composition for the dimes and quarters. Ending the current sandwich edges. If it's made mostly of nickel plated steel like Canada.
