John, hey man, I’ve been following your channel for the last year or so. I live in JC, TN and love fishing for Trout and Bass. I was traveling for business and I happened to watch your latest video on Tuesday night while staying in Dalton, GA and stopped in at Bass Pro Outpost while traveling north on I-75 heading back towards home, and guess who i met, Nathan! Great guy and we talked fishing so at least 30 minutes. Shout out to Nathan! Keep up the great work on these TH-cam videos, man. I can’t fish very often so watching these videos helps me relax.
I think most youtubers have done a "bass pro challenge" but I love seeing everyone's spin on it, yours was no exception. And I always love the classic intro. Great video, thanks for sharing.
When you put on braid it has to come off the spool counter clockwise. Fill the spool first with about 60% cheap mono and then tie on the braid this lets you use less and it won’t slip on the arbor. When you spool it on make sure you set the drag high and put good tension on it.. don’t overfill the spool or it will jump off when casting. If you fish a fluke incorporate an inline ball bearing swivel into the leader it will not affect the action as much as you’d think and prevents twists. I fish a lot of spinning reels and this is the only way I do my braid and it works every time. Better quality braid definitely is better as well. I fish a lot of suffix 832. Make sure you also don’t have line lay issues on your spool if you have more line at the top or bottom you need to add or take away a shim under the spool to make the line lay even.
I saw a tip a long time ago about using braid. After you manually flip the bail, grab the line and give it a tug like you are checking your drag. It will pull out that crazy cross wrap you get on your spool when you flip the bail. You will still get the occasional wind knot but I do think it cuts down on them.
And sometimes when drifting or if you have some loose line, grab the line in front of the reel while holding the rod shaft with your other hand - to keep the line tight when you reel in. If you get loose line loops overhanging the reel it will cause friction and casting issues.
That was cool and for the average Joe not bad. And they could get a kayak to use and paddle for another $400. That would be me since I don't have one I'd show up, challenge accepted and wing it with the credit card 😅😅😅. If you just didn't snooze the alarm 15 times brother you'd have won. But I guess Josh is okay to finish behind. Blessings John
Made Up about half of what you spent, John. Nice simple fishing didn't take a whole lot of choice. And you Did well. Third out of 28 aint bad. We like this video.
That was fun, congrats on third place. Never know what they have instock at stores. Have to rewind and see what brand that braid was no worries definitely won’t mind a replay!
When ever I put on new line on my fishing reels I would ether go to a river, or if I was on a boat I would take my fishing rod and let all of the line out and then reel back in with my fingers putting light pressure on the line.
You could have gotten a Lew's American Hero Camo Spinning Combo for $85 a PENN Pursuit IV Spinning Combo for $90 or a PENN Fierce IV Spinning Combo for $110. Then you would have had a more $$ for everything else.
I finally got some bright green 15 lb. braid for my shakey head. I think I'll get a better hook set and lose less fish. I lost some key fish in my last tournament here.
John your always making videos spending the least amount of money on tackle now do one video spending a large amount of money on tackle to see if it makes a difference . Love your watching all your videos.
Enjoy your content. Keep doing what you do. We do a bream buster tournament in May and June to feed the Raptor center in charlotte Nc. If you wanna join hollar at me and I’ll give you the info. Thanks.
Hey John , I’ve noticed you haven’t been fishing the Hellgermite lately.. is it because of the time of the year or have you not been catching on them ? Just wondering because I’ve seen you wear them out numerous times consistently.👍
John that line I'm guessing was put on counter clockwise instead of clockwise? No offense. Maybe you got a bad spool? Believe you got that store bought from B Pro.

Congratulations on an amazing day , see ya at Melton Hill.
I'm not allowed to go to bass pro, my wife gets angry.... lol.
Hahahaha. I hear ya.
Something happens when I walk in to Bass Pro. My eyes glaze over and and my credit card gets hot!
Never ask to go , just go and accept whatever comes with it afterwards😅 I rather get yelled at with lures to go fish with the none at all 😂
I call it my local bar or tavern and my wife calls it my mistress
Man, the fall color looks great up there! You got some nice fish-that largemouth sure was pretty.

Love Bass Pro Shops. Always spend more than you budget. Great video. Like the kayak videos. But you did go over budget
Atta boy, congratulations! Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day!

We were in Chattanooga, and around parksville today.
Ya'll have a mini sturgeon in your Bass?! That's sick LOL. We have big bass, reds, and some cats down here in Tx.
I love how every tournament video starts out with "Well, I slept in and I'm an hour late".
That looks contagious ☠️
Made Up about half of what you spent, John. Nice simple fishing didn't take a whole lot of choice. And you
Did well. Third out of 28 aint bad. We like this video.
congrats! nice!
Nice fish !! It’s always nice to make a little money 👍
That was fun, congrats on third place. Never know what they have instock at stores. Have to rewind and see what brand that braid was no worries definitely won’t mind a replay!

Mans stays running late. LOL. loved the video!
And he literally lives 10 minutes from this lake. I’d know, he’s down the road from me 😂😂
Id like a day of spincast rubber worm fishing
Henry IIIV of England used to love eating lampreys.ln fact, they were his favorite fish to eat.
VIII
i remember watching River Monsters do an episode on them
When ever I put on new line on my fishing reels I would ether go to a river, or if I was on a boat I would take my fishing rod and let all of the line out and then reel back in with my fingers putting light pressure on the line.

i could have but didnt like them as well as what i got
Bro really said I am going to save those 6 cents
What group does the kayak tournaments there? I had someone tell me about it last year but I can't find that group now....Great video as always!
I miss having a Bass Pro in my town. Now I’m 3 hours from the closest one…
By and 35 daller combo it will work good and better then and 80 daller rod.
It’ll work but it won’t be a light or as sensitive as higher end rods.
Not true at all
@@timdarnell7819 its very true it will be an lot better rod
@@FishingWithChris_Tv it will eork just as good
How you be oversleeping at wveey tournament? Do you not have an alarm clock boy. 😂😂😂
I was fishing in the kayaks Adventure series in Wisconsin I was the first place in the kid tournament
I was Oliver Lee
oh yeah, thats cool
I've never been there... Or allowed there 😂
I finally got some bright green 15 lb. braid for my shakey head. I think I'll get a better hook set and lose less fish. I lost some key fish in my last tournament here.
i think you will like the feel of it
John your always making videos spending the least amount of money on tackle now do one video spending a large amount of money on tackle to see if it makes a difference .
Love your watching all your videos.
i need to try that
Sometimes it’s better just keeping it simple then having 10 rods out the back😂
most of the time you only use 1 or 2 lures anyway
👍👍👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
❤
I am still waiting for you to take your 8 with and 6 with flyrod and enter a tournament
Enjoy your content. Keep doing what you do. We do a bream buster tournament in May and June to feed the Raptor center in charlotte Nc. If you wanna join hollar at me and I’ll give you the info. Thanks.
How about a 1 lure challenge
i like that
Hey John , I’ve noticed you haven’t been fishing the Hellgermite lately.. is it because of the time of the year or have you not been catching on them ? Just wondering because I’ve seen you wear them out numerous times consistently.👍
mainly im just trying to use other stuff, i know the hellgrammite works and will probably use it again soon
@ I definitely understand wanting to mix it up and try different. I was just curious 👍
Bey and 20 daller real it will work just as good.
Won’t be as sensitive or as light
Totally wrong
it works but not as good
@CreekFishingAdventures it worked just as good
@timdarnell7819 Wtach Realistic fishing he proves it.
How many rod and reel setups do you have?? Send me a promo set up
Should have just went with the old trusty ugly stick combo.
i like them better and they are easier to use
Just but and combo it's cheaper
Lewis is good but to expensive.
**$300 challenge 😅
John that line I'm guessing was put on counter clockwise instead of clockwise? No offense. Maybe you got a bad spool? Believe you got that store bought from B Pro.
Why even cal lit a budget video ? ? ? ?
Because budget is subjective. Everyone has a different budget.
@@FishingWithChris_Tv Weird, video says $200 Budget, just sayin'...
because i was trying to stay within a $200 budget, but i failed
@@CreekFishingAdventures Thanks for a fun video regardless ! ! ! !
Bass pro braid sux!
