Let's just forget what Jesus said to the thief on the cross.

How does Jesus’ promise to the thief negate/contradict Peter when he said, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”?

The gospel message according to Jesus and His apostles INCLUDES water baptism. Sadly many preach an incomplete message of salvation.
If Jesus wants to save someone apart from it , thats His perogative, but we are commanded to preach and obey the gospel He gave us.

Jesus didn’t tell him to be baptized but he told us to. Do what JESUS said do and have remission of sins and a CLEAR conscience 1 Peter 3 vs 21.

Thats not why it exists at all. Thats why he died on the cross. You're faith is mixed too deep with opinion.

@@nicksoutherFirst of all, according to you, Muslims are saved.
Secondly, your view on baptism was never taught by the early church. You have a fairly new view on baptism. Therefore, you are by definition, a heretic.
