My word I live those yowah nuts! You got some killers in this group. I think so at least. You’re so lucky to have access to this material. I just love the patterns they can show. It’s like bif/banded iron formation, which I love, with opal running through it. Maybe not the best comparison. They are bof/banded opal formations. Lol. I just love opal so much and wish the shipping wasn’t so bad to me. I would love some of these snd just some rough to work myself. I want to learn silversmithing and make Vicky stuff.
some of my favorites are where the potch makes the curled, c-like figures in the host. even if the potch lacks color is still makes a stunning visual contrast with the host rock.
Hiya Jeff, Yowah Opal is fastly becoming my favourite opal for all the same reasons. The patterns and the colour is just other worldly, sooo cool. So this isnt a plug, but kind of is as well, when you do the maths on the dollar exchange rate ($1 aussie gets 0.62c US) shipping isn't to bad. Then factor in you are buying at Aussie rates, so that jar cost me $60 AU which is $37.2 US. Now here's the kicker, there's at least 2 stones in there i could get my money back on with even working....The guys i get it from are friggen awesome, next time they do a live sale i'll put it up on Discord 😜😜😜
Not that I am aware of, it can be difficult to cut having a conglomerate make up of different hardness material. Good question i'll try and find out about that🤔🤔🤔
These Yowah opal are colorful! I see happiness in your future.😊
you gotta love seeing the colors, right off the bat, without even getting them close up. Can't wait to see what is recovered from these beauts.
For sure, definitely makes cutting them a whole heap easier too when the colour pops like that. This parcel is going to be a lot of fun to cut 😍😍😍

Wow, those are beautiful 👍
Cheers! It's going to be a fun year to get stuck into some yowah 😉✌️
I know that the ironstone itself is fairly hard, but do they require any stabilization, after cutting??
