    Do Arsenal really NEED a new STARTING no.9?
    Also correction: the graphic with Watkins, Isak, Haaland & Havertz looks at their total Goals & Assists for their clubs as strikers, not just in the Premier League 🙏

      As long as Havertz can stay fit, there is no need to get a new 9 unless coming in to be an understudy

      Yes! We need a better #9! Havertz isn't hungry or clinical enough. He doesn't score in tough games when we need him to and he's too utilitarian in his approach. We need Viktor Gyokeres!

  • @Fh_81
    @Fh_81 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +8

    Why is this a question?? We all need to take a step back and look at the big picture. Since January, when Kai started at the 9 we have not lost a game in the EPL. The only game we lost was Villa, and he played in midfield that day. He is criminally underrated, mostly because today's average fan has had their mind adjusted by Cr7 and Messi where attacking is what a player is judged by. Kai does so much off the ball it's crazy, similar to why ppl question if Saka is world class not taking into account off the ball work and defending. Kai is the man!!! Let's all appreciate the amazing talent he, Saka, and the rest of the team possess.

    People forget that before Chelsea, Havertz was looked at like a wonder kid, maybe he is finally starting to reach his potential, tbh I can only see him getting better, people like to talk about RVP but how many seasons did it take RVP to really reach that legend status, I remember him being injured every season he barely got 20 games a season let alone 20 goals and not really doing anything up until his 30+ season, biggest difference I suppose is that RVP was very clinical.

    • @thierryhenry674

      Whenever Van Persie was playing, his touches/close control were so silky/tekky, his skill moves and through passes were magical. He was possession loving, helped us a lot in the build up, and combined a lot with the midfield. And on top of that he scored reasonable amount of goals. Most of the goals he created and scored were absolutely beautiful.
      It’s just that he was quite frequently out for injuries. And he was more like a second striker. Even IF he scored zero goals in those years, he would still be one of our best players. Because of his skills/technicality, and how he contributes in the chance creation, he was truly magical in every single game he has played in his early days. Whereas if Havertz doesn’t score, all he left is defending and aerial duels. He is not skillful/creative on the ball.
      He lost a lot of skills in the final years of his career, and he focus just on the finishing. Which he seems to score more, but his teams are worse off because of that.

    • @ChrisTtofari
      @ChrisTtofari 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +5

      @thierryhenry674 I can’t argue on you with that RVP was clearly an incredible player and it showed by what he turned into at the end of the career but maybe I’m too young to really remember how good he was before the 30+ season.
      Imo availability is an important ability for me, Havertz is extremely reliable in terms of staying fit (touch wood) but honestly I’m not comparing him to RVP in terms of gameplay I just meant look at how RVP evolved, why can’t Kai evolve too. Hes got the build and movement to be a great target man, if he can add that clinical edge to his game I don’t see how he doesn’t become a 20+ striker.

    One thing that surprised me about Havertz is his strength. He is capable of winning physical duels against some strong centre backs. Look at the chance of Martinelli against Atalanta, Havertz created it when he bodied Hien and brought the ball down. He also dominated Pacho against PSG, against Southampton he won the duel against 2 players which lead to our third goal by Saka. He has all the attributes of a top class CF.

    Call it a stroke of luck or genius from Arteta, whichever, but starting Kai's Arsenal career as a midfielder has done wonders for him. Instead of being pressured for goals, he was tasked with doing the simple things because he has the qualities + the work rate. Now, after building his confidence that was shattered at Chelsea, for whatever reason, he's now thriving.

    Havertz can do everything across the field therefore he’s superior than your Watkins’ etc. We’re not bloody West Ham or Everton to want our attacker to be dumb shooter, we have enough finishers

    4:49 I love the question: why can’t he get better? Is exactly what we are seeing just from the beginning of last season and currently. Arteta has shown that he can improve production and output for a player. Kai plays for the badge and he is getting comfortable in the system and his role. Another big point to consider is the ability to go out wide and let Saka occupy the half spaces near the 18yd box. Saka’s production and shot creation has sky rocketed during the Ø absence because he has been given the space to occupy those zones.

    Havertz is just a top class player. This is what Arteta envisions with Cruyuff' and Barcelona ideas. What Mikel has done for Kai and vice versa is astonishing because I have never seen a player transformed so fundamentally to find his best skillset because a manager like Mikel saw it and never wavered from it.

    I think Kai already sees himself as a striker and Arsenals number one striker. His Sky Sports interview done recently says as much when he stated he wants to score 20 goals this seasons. To say it out loud with his confident body language and when the cameras are rolling speaks volumes for me because he’s really backing himself and you can see it in his recent performances. I think it’s just finish selection that’s stopping him from being more ruthless, I.e. his chance against Brighton this season he done everything right even the finish type he just forgot to lift it because a goalie will always spread y and outstretch their legs. but that knowledge cones with experience where he os kind of learning how to play striker properly. but i think he has it in him always have, we're starting to see what he really can be!

    Hi James really think that Arteta will get sesko this summer as he is someone with kai's height, heading ability both attacking and defensively situations very hard worker in terms of pressing opponents, great channel runner, great hold up play and the most important thing is mainly a right footer I can see a world where both sesko and havertz play as a pair like trossard and havertz do currently now this isnt going to be for every game but in certain situations I think mikel would like to play like this for most part just my thought

    I think Havertz answered our No. 9 problem in the Southampton game, but not in the way you think.
    The stats show how much he drifted out wide, how well he linked play with Saka, and most importantly, how well he can deliver a ball into the box.
    We've also seen previously that he can make incredible bursting runs from midfield into scoring positions.
    Our problem with him in midfield isn't that he's bad in that position. It's that we don't have a striker with enough quality, stature and form to finish the chances that are being created.
    Havertz was touted as a very good Second Striker just as much as he was a midfielder in his days in the bundesliga. I feel this is the next step in his evolution.
