Welsh inspired stone red dragon, carved from polystyrene / styrofoam, with a blanket coat of glass fibre and a flexible concrete render. Artworked to resemble red stone, and positioned to hold a flag pole.
Only a true Welshman might pick up on the fact it wasn't St David that slayed the dragon ;)
There is no greater joy than creating something by your own hands. The satisfaction you get looking at your finished work is beyond compare. Keep doing what you do.
Holy smokes! This is so cool! I love this in depth look at the process. Thanks for the inspiration to try something new!
Thank you very much Heidi!
That one good looking red dragon 🐉
❤️
You are very welcome
Dragons are my favorite. I was pleased to see this project. You did not disappoint me! Fantastic!
Glad you we could help!
This is incredible and such a well narrated video. Absolutely enthralled.
As always, great work! Always nice to see that there are also thematization companies that are not afraid to reveal their working method. I myself am a freelance sculptor and mold maker in the Netherlands and I do a lot of work for theme parks such as Disneyland paris, Europapark etc. Hopefully I can visit your workshop in the future. About the stickyfoil technique, I did that first but nowadays there are quite a few suppliers who sell polyesterresin especially for polystyrene foam. Works very well and can save a lot of time. You should try it!
I also often have to deal with cnc robots. Sometimes a shame, sometimes useful.
Great that you do not invest in it and do it the old-fashioned way!
Nothing more than praise! Keep up the goodwork!
Another amazing sculpture. The finished piece looks spectacular and very much worthy of being called a dragon.
I would love an Altar sized version of this for my Altar.
WOW....amazing. Such an amazing artistic talent and soooo worth it in the end result over a CNC technique. Keep up the great work!!
Amazing work guys
Thank you very much! 🙌
Fantastic. I follow jou for many years and i love what you are doing. I have great respect how jou do it again and again,
This is so awesome!! Beautiful work!! I have a dragon project I am working on and you gave me some great information about the process. Thank you!!
Love the attention to detail! I would love to have an internship at your location. Fantastic work !! ❤️
That´s a very cool design to watch
Once again thank you for sharing!! its always a pleasure to see the work you guys do. Its an inspiration to those of us who come behind you - learning and admiring what the possibilities are.
Absolutely fantastic work guys!
Really I like very much this art.you are the conquer of art world.
That's rad!
Absolutely stunning 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Terrific video! Thank you for sharing such an intimate, detailed look at the process.
This is the reason I went to art school.... its cool to know there are actual companies out there that do this sort of thing. If you dont mind me asking what type of resin do you all use that doesnt heat up and melt the styrofoam underneath. I understand the aluminum foil wrap controls most of the temperature, but most resins still heat up considerably.
Was just thinking yesterday about how it would be cool to see a new video from you guys and boom there's one for us to watch today. Very awesome, I wish I could finish projects as quick as your videos lol
Luar biasa, master salut, jadi inspirasi saya pemula. 👍👍👍🙏🏽
I am in awe of talented artists that produce such work. I'm somewhat of a dragon nut myself and loved what you did it's a proper Welsh dragon. Is it going on display somewhere would love to see it in real time. Thanks for sharing your craftsmanship regards Paul Morgan ( yes a Welshman) cheers gang

Beautiful!!
This is fantastic! I would love to make some props for one of my Cosplay performances, Im truly Inspired Keep up the good work!
Amazing and great to watch. I've just done a sculpture trail commission and whilst decorating the sculpture I thought of many things I could create using this technique. Can I just ask about the waste polystyrene and is there any way of recycling it or what you do with it? Thanks again
Wonderful work !
Thank you !!
I have been dying to try my hand at this type of sculpting - where would someone find the proper foam large enough ?
Any particular type of shop ? I imagine finding something local would be best decades of shipping cost
Nice job dude👍🏻
wonderful!
Aden is the sh#t, love his work 🥰......
Only just getting around to appreciate this comment 🤣 🙌
Great work. what sprayable concrete product do you use.? I am having trouble finding it.
Nice artistic skills...just wanted to know how do you join the two blocks of styrofoam together so firmly...
Hi Omkar, we use a poly urethane expanding foam to join the polsytyrene blocks.
simply amazing (y)
How you do that, it's wonderfull ...
It's wonderful that you think so ❤️
buenas noches que papel brillante adhesivo plateado es ese
y donde se consigue gracias
Şahane kutlarım ellerinize sağlık usta
Where do you get the big blocks of polystyrene?
I like the chromatic version
Is it thermocol, the material you used, this is awesome art work by you, have you used fiber here
The material is polystyrene (or styrofoam), and we have used glass fibre here. If you watch the whole video, everything is explained in the video.
Can you tell me where to get the sticky back tin foil you used. Is there another name for it . I searched it but couldn't find anything. Thanks
I can't seem to find how or what to use for a power source. I want the hotwir e to but 4feet long. All I need is a very reliable power source and I'm good from there.
what exactly use to coat it?
Hai iam maker good work
I want to put a Gargoyle on my house, I found a good size one made of some kind of resin. It's only under 200usd so I might go ahead a buy it. I am going to be doing 2D images on my walls inside my new house. We are still building the foundation to the outer walls. I am putting concrete outside and will have 2 turrets on the front of the house. It will also have stained glass in the walls.
que es ese papel plateado?
How much
Where would I be able to buy sticky back tin foil?
Hi Dualscreen, give us an email via aden.hynes@hotmail.com :)
I see your dragon is making a fist! Is that so it can hold a sign saying something like “eat at Joe’s” or maybe “ drop in for a bite” ! LOL All joking aside this is a really fantastic build!!!
Hi Makyrie. He's making a fist to hold the welsh flag. But I guess he could hold up a sign for a flame grilled smokehouse ;)
I want to work with you...
Mae o yn dda iawn. Oh and im from wales
What is the name of the foil? I want to start sculpting soon, for my project in college 😅
💛
🐉💛🐲
راءع beautiful
Its draig goch
How long did it took to produce this from start to finish?
Hey Letter Builder. Probably about 4 to 5 weeks :) thanks for watching
by 3D CNC machine it will be less than 1 day
May I know what is the tool that you're using in 2:33?
It's a nail brush :) effectively a bit of wood in the shape of a handle, with nails sticking through it to carve with
can someone tell me what type of hotwire cutter aden uses? and where, if possible can i buy one?
You can buy one (hotwirefoamfactory) or just make one yourself (much cheaper), plenty of videos online to do so.
Having done so it is very satisfying, but just like any tool, the result is in the years of experience behind be user.
great video! what is the name of the music at the beginning of the video and at 1:33?
Sounds like the Transformers movie theme.
I think it's Heart of Courage by Two Steps from Hell
What is the music?
Pretty sure it's Heart of Courage by Two Steps from Hell
When you love what you do it is not work.
Like for two steps from hell
you should wear a mask bro..
