  • This Track Saw is a perfect tool for cabinet makers, kitchen fitters, general carpenters, and woodworkers for ripping, cross cutting, and installation applications. It’s also invaluable for solo-carpenters not wanting to wrestle full sheets of plywood on a table saw.
The DEWALT FLEXVOLT 6-1/2″ Track Saw DCS520 is well worth the street price and compares well against higher end/more expensive models.

I can't believe another person is complaining about the plunge on this saw. I have used both Festool, and this saw. For me, the plunge on this feels much more natural than pivoting my wrist to make a cut. You simply push forward, instead of cranking your wrist down and forward.

Hold on mate.. I have the Dewalt 18v plunge saw which came with the old Nicad battery, however its now converted to run on my Hitachi 6ah battery. I bought it second hand and had it 7 years now.. still going strong.. its the tool i use everyday. I use the festool ts55 only if I'm going to be on site over a week.. it does run on the Festool track and many others but the Festool won't run on the dewalt track..

I have the corded version of this saw. The plunge mechanism is quickly second nature. I find the blade change to be difficult and awkward. In addition, the corded version does not take a standard blade. The arbor is a different size so stand 6.5" blades off the shelf at lowes won't work.
The dewalt tracks seem fine. The angle and square attachments that go on the bottom seem to be discontinued. And making your own square will limit you to using one side of the track.

HHProgressiveconstruction you have an excellent Eye my friend, the box that the track so I came in was punctured presumably by a forklift and had a dent in it which put a bow in the track when clamped down it lays flat and does not affect the cut, but I was not happy about it

It would be really nice to see some video on how easy it is to line up the blade on your cut mark... i've been using a skillsaw and a clamped level as a straight edge and that is the biggest pain. It's easy to get 1/32 to 1/16 off which adds up when building a section of kitchen cabinets.
