'This is the most brutal murder that I've seen': Sean Goe sentenced in Canton for murder

  • Sean Goe, a Stark County man who was found guilty in the murder of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Raychel Sheridan, has been sentenced to serve 29 years to life in prison.
“Mr. Goe, you sold your soul to the devil," Stark County Common Pleas Court Judge Frank Forchione said after announcing his decision on sentencing.
The judge said this case was "without a doubt the most brutal murder that I've seen."
"It’s appalling. It’s heartbreaking," Judge Forchione continued. "Raychel Sheridan was beaten so severely that the sheriff deputy who saw her body couldn’t identify her based on her own photo.”
Judge Forchione also labeled Goe as "morally bankrupt" with "no fiber of decency."
"Displaying the lowest level for human life, you then wrapped the body in a sheet and dumped it in a park near Mother Gooseland," the judge said. This is the person that at one point you claimed that you were in love with. Instead, you threw her in the trash like a piece of garbage.”

He wants him to feel the enormity of the sentence by breaking it up and ordering it to be served consecutively. It will basically be a life sentence. With his attitude, his inmates will sort him out as he is sure to cause some trouble there with somebody that can actually defend himself.

I don't think you listened to what the judge said. He gave him the maximum sentence allowed by Ohio state laws. All of his charges will be served concurrently, meaning that once he's done serving one then he serves the next for a total of a minimum of 29 years. That 15 years to life is just that, he can serve life on that sentence.

@vanrozay8871 Bc the governor of Ohio stopped the death penalty… it all depends on the state you live in. Here in NY you’d get 25 to life for 2nd degree murder. Ohio laws seems to be more or lenient. Either way the system is flawed. There is no such thing as Justice. If you have money you walk. If you’re poor you’re guilty until found innocent. Look at OJ Simpson, we all know he did it. Yet he walked. Plus is any Justice ever enough for killing someone in the fashion the victim was killed? You can’t really put a price or years on a life. So sad. He killed her and destroyed whatever chance at a life he could’ve had.

@maunakeatunes5347 Ohio. Take it up with the governor of Ohio he’s against the death penalty. Yes he took a life. But the death penalty is controversial bc who are we to say who lives or dies. Isn’t that putting ourselves on the same level as the killer?
