i've been vocal about it this year since medvedev lost at AO and the way he was approaching his tennis that he has got what it needs to succeed and he finally delievered. defeating novak djokovic in straight sets on hard courts is one of the toughest task in tennis and that too without a tie break. f**king pheonmenal. he is also not perfect by any sorts, he has had his share of meltdowns and arguments but he is a good human being without arrogance, always respectful to everyone and has right mindset. wish he improves his game on atleast one more surface as normally top players do have game for atleast two surfaces to consistently keep adding titles.
Kudos to Medvedev for his run at the US Open but Novak had to be extremely tired at that point, considering how much time he's spent on court (about 6 hours more than Medvedev) and how slow and off he was during that final. With that in mind it's difficult to fully appreciate the feat of Medvedev's. But, I'm very happy to see him improve so much since AO too, was rooting for him all tournament and expected him to do really well vs Djoko but I don't think his mindset was right at the time.
