Well done! I've been in AZ 9 years. A year ago, I bought a nice used Canon EOS 7D, my first DSLR (love it!). Late March I checked out Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert. It popped up a few times in my TH-cam feed from watching a lot of photog/birding vids. It looks tiny on a map, but it was amazing in the Spring! Far exceeded my expectations. I was actually looking again through the hundreds of photos I took. Also on a birding note, I saw an Osprey this Spring not really close to a good body of water, on a pole along a road. Great to see, but kinda odd? Late January was fortunate to be introduced to Loggerhead Shrike seeing one at Apache Wash Trailhead. Best to you
Hi Chris! Fantastic video!!! Just a couple of small corrections for you. I don't know if it was said as a jab, but there are Northern Cardinals found in Arizona! They are actually quite common! Also, the bird you identified as a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was actually a Red-naped Sapsucker. You can see the small red spot on the back of his head and it's a much more commonly bird seen here in AZ, with the Yellow-belled being a fairly rare bird. Keep the videos coming. You do a much better job at this than a whole lot of other videos I've seen!!!! You're really good at this!!!!
I love that you gave us a tour of many different spots within a 100 mile radius - I wish more birding videos would do this, and give the specific locations the way you do. Your video is valuable information that I can use to plan my next road trip to southern Arizona. Thank you!
Beauties! I love desert birding, and you saw a lot of the highlights. Rufous-winged Sparrow is a tricky species in the US - very limited range! Southeast AZ is one of my favorite spots, so much to see.
Chris, your videos keep getting better and better! Amazing work! So many cool birds! Also, that's a really cool monopod that you have! Probably helps tremendously with stabilization! Keep up the awesome videos!
Thank you SO much! The monopod helps ALOT and it makes the clips much better! I got a tripod for Christmas so I will try it out soon! Congrats on 500 subs!
Next time you are in Phoenix, there’s a couple of bird sanctuaries that I know of, one in Tempe and the big Riparian Park in Gilbert. We have eagles and other raptors in the East Valley

Thank you and this is very helpful for future videos, it can really help for planning birding trips!
Funny jab at those poor (Arizona) cardinals! Have a great Xmas Chris!
Thanks for watching! That was an awesome trip! Merry Christmas!
Great video man! Glad you enjoyed Arizona!
Thanks!!! Arizona is AWESOME!
Those were awesome birds. I've seen about 211 species of birds. Seeing 440 species of birds is amazing!
211 is really good! It just takes time and effort and you will get there
Your youthful enthusiasm is such a welcome reprieve from the run of the mill birding videos, well done young fella, makes me want to hit the road.
Great vid. I would have gave you a like just for the defense that didn’t show up.
Let’s go Niners!!
Cool video!
Nice trip! Nice to see you saw some of my neighborhood birds, Brewer’s Sparrow and Canyon Towhee.
It was awesome! I love the desert birds!

Yeah! I was excited to see the rufous winged sparrow! I definitely want to go back to the South East part of Arizona! Happy birding!

You saw so many cool birds! I think my favorite was the cactus wren 🌵🏜️
Cactus Wrens are so cool! They are the state bird of Arizona!
