  • For this Bent Plywood Lounge Chair Project I wanted to show that it is possible to use inexpensive materials and basic hand held tools to make curved and hi end looking furniture. I got the plywood from homedepot and used a technique called Kerf Bending to make it more flexible. This Bent Lamination Plywood Lounge Chair was done to kick off the next challenge, the #RocklerBentWoodChallenge that we are hosting on our Podcast. The Modern Maker Podcast.
    So Make sure to follow the hashtag on instagram, and listen to episode 151 of the podcast to hear more on it. Full Details below.

    Really cool chair! Very creative. Just a suggestion for comfort and decor. Maybe add a small pillow with Velcro straps as a cushion for your head/neck.

    • @dnomyarnostaw
      @dnomyarnostaw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought a headrest would be good, but Velcro strips on the wood would look tacky.;
      How about a "pillow" in two halves, one side padded, the other just fabric, that would fit over the top of the chair like a hat.?

  • @toddelliott3239

    All this chair needs is a cool paint job with bright colors or a amazing artwork that wouldn’t take away from the chair unique shape but only add to this amazing design and just make it pop or more eye catching.

    • @dt2419
      @dt2419 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shawna ! Just my opinion but I think that would ruin the look, I just think the modern sleek look goes much better with bare wood instead of a flashy paint job

    Nice work, looks great. Your local clamp seller was happy you made this chair. My only critique is the feet. Would have loved to see the edges cut so they sit flat on the ground. I just see that edge chipping and breaking eventually.

    There is such a thing as 1/8" bending plywood and "wacky wood" both in 4x8 and 8x4. When I use wacky wood I put a layer of 1/8" ply or veneer on top to make a finished look, they save a ton of time.
