McGowan is something like a hero to me. I can tell he’s a deep thinker and just desperately wants to teach people what he knows (or has found to be true), almost as a compulsion. He’s teaching at University of Vermont, teaching at Theory Underground, teaching on like every podcast that invites him on, teaches on his OWN podcast. He’d probably be teaching on a street corner if he didn’t have any other outlet.
And it’s such a fun and entertaining way to learn!

Dr. McGowan, can you please do an episode (of this show, or on your channel, or on the podcast) examining the book, “No Future” by Lee Edelman?

Probably the kind of thing to ask via email if you’re really set on this but it doesn’t necessarily seem like the best use of time. You should read Mari Ruti’s discussion of No Future in The Ethics of Opting which provides a very deft point by point critique of the supposed ethical validity and Lacanian grounding of Eddleman’s alliance of the queer subject with pure death driven negativity.
