I think we were all meant to meet Hannah to teach a greedy materialistic generation that happiness can be found in nature and by living a simple life. She was so humble that she didn’t realise the effect she would have on the public. I loved her. RIP you wonderful lady of the fells
Such a beautiful place. Spotless clean. The meadow is beautiful. Should be more of those everywhere. I never knew the Yorkshire Dales were so beautiful and interesting. Those meadows. Wow.
I will never forget our family watching "a winter too long". We were silent for a long time after. We never knew such life existed still in the UK. Breaking the ice on the land for water, the struggle and her humility. We will never forget her!
I learned of Hannah Hauxwell yesterday. I've watched each video and have been deeply touched. Currently, we are living in a time of unrest. Watching this lady's resolve to live a solitary life was somehow very comforting. Her kindly countenance and soft voice drew me to her. She was a grand and noble woman. She might have been viewed as poor and strange while she was alive, but with the ability now to see her on film, I can't help but think she was a uniquely gifted human being. Surely, while she lived, she would never have guessed how many people's lives she would touch.
Hi Catherine, the thing that stands out most about Hannah is that she was very happy with life. When she first move into the farm in the 1920's there was plenty of people around her. What a fabulous place to live as a child with all the comings and goings of family life but one by one the happy family that surrounded her died, Hannah was left alone. Hannah had a fantastic love for her animals they were a great comfort to her especially her cow Rosa who she would cuddle up to too keep warm on some very cold winter nights in the Dales. Hannah never married or even had a boyfriend but confessed that she hoped a rugged fella would come over the fell but resigned herself to the fact it probably wouldn't happen. I would like to think that Hannah's books and life story should be compulsory reading for all the schools in England just to show people that you do not need a lot to be happy. Have a great Christmas all the best The Taxi Driver
Determined to visit her story is so inspiring. A life of what seems so hard looking from the way things are in 2020. She never complained, was kind to her animal's and loved nature. How we all moan about trivial things today but Hannah through the hardship had a glow of innocence and respect for all she new.🦋🌻🌹💖
Just found and watched the documentary about Hannah Hauxwell’s life❤️. What an extraordinary woman. Wish I could have met her. She’s an inspiration through her character and the way she led her life😊❤️. We could all learn a lot from her😊❤️
Hi george, Hannah was a lovely lady. I was lucky enough this summer to pick up someone in my taxi who had known Hannah for 40 over years and he said it was a privilege to have know her. All the best The Taxi Driver
@@thetaxidriverj ahhhhh thats lovely, 40 years!! I have wondered with her living alone as she did, I hope she had a radio to listen to . Then i think of Christmas day, in years gone by i wonder if anyone invited her to their home for Christmas Dinner, or was she alone 🤔
How many unknown people lived out a lone existence, in rural isolation,, no TV producer with a tv camera crew ever found them.. Some in cabins in minnesota some in a bothy in the Scottish Highlands or Wales.
What a beautiful tribute to an astounding lady.. I remember watching Hannah, with my Mum & Dad, on our black n white telly.. We were spell-bound, and also loved it when she explored the wider world.. A Truly wonderful lady indeed.. Warm, humorous, never negative.. A free and strong spirit, who loved where she lived, even if it was a harsh life.. I shed a few tears when she had to sell up, when she said goodbye to Rosa, Rosa's Daughters and the Calves, all she had was her little dog... I am so glad Hannah has such a moving reminder of her life and love of the Yorkshire Dales..
Thank you Sally Ann, when we first heard of Hannah's death in 2018 we decided we would go there and make a walk the following week, but as the week wore on and we started watching some of her videos we realised the best way to do Hannah's memory justice was to wait until July when Hannah's flower meadows would be in full bloom and try and tell her story as we walked. Hannah as you have said was a warm, humorous and very friendly person who could see no bad in anything. Though she led a lonely life in the Yorkshire Dales she always had her animals for company where as when she stayed in London even with all the people about she found it very lonely and was glad to go back to Yorkshire. Over the years while we have been filming we have come across some very sad stories and Hannah's by today's standards was no different but by Hannah's standard she had a wonderful life and was very upset to leave the farm when the time came. It took us most of the day to film this walk because everytime we said a bit more or thought about it we had to keep stopping to take a few more deep breaths but at the end of the walk and as we were editing we came to realise that Hannah had what most people are looking for today, a very peaceful and happy life. All the best Taxi Driver
I just discovered this lovely lady via a YT video about her life. What an amazing woman! Despite all the hardships and isolation of her life, she was very positive, gracious and beautifully innocent. Thank you for this video.
John...A very nice tribute to a kindred spirit as was Hannah. I will admit to shedding a tear as you described the Dear Soul that loved the land so very much. I hope she finds another meadow in her new HOME in the sky....Thank you kind sir...
Hello George, when we started to walk and make our film of Hannah's life we thought it would be quite easy. It was an easy walk round the reservoirs we had our notes in front of us and the weather was glorious but as I started to tell her story with the opening lines that Hannah was then just aged 46 with the strikingly white hair of a much older woman and that Hannah had spent more than a decade alone eking out a meager living from its 80 acre of land it soon became very hard. The more I thought about the hardships she had been through the more a lump kept appearing in my throat. Hannah had an uncomplaining acceptance of hardship and she concluded that it created a wonderful spirit in the community, 'everybody helps everybody else' she said. It was a fantastic story to tell especially as we walked the fields and meadows that Hannah had walked. We like to think that this film was a fitting tribute to Hannah. All the best John and Janice
May our Heavenly Father bless this remarkable woman's Soul rest in Peace. In her new life she is surrounded by God's Angels leaving in peace and love she deserved. Hannah's life story is almost similar to my own late Grandmother who past away over thirty years ago although she was married with two children ( she had my mother and my late Uncle ), at the age of just twenty seven she lost her husband she never remarried she died in her late nineties. The late Hannah life story is a GREAT LESSON to us of all what we plant in this life we will get the results in next life. Rest in peace Amen
Thank you for reminding us of Hannah I watched the TV programs in the70s Amazing woman ! living in those conditions while we lived in relative comfort lovely tribute about a lovely lady who lived in a lovely land . She saw Yorkshire in a different light from us and loved it.
Thanks for your comment Stuart. When we heard about the death of Hannah Hauxwell in February we went up there to take a look but soon realised we could not do her life story justice by filming it in the winter time. The place where she lived was so cold and uninviting that we decided to wait until the wild flowers in her meadow were in full bloom. The main thing we learnt from telling Hannah's story was that money and possessions meant nothing to her she was just happy with the simple things in life. She attended a Royal garden party in honour of the Queen Mothers 80th birthday celebrations but ultimately found London lonely, it was nice for a while but she needed to be quiet and to get back to the hills. We are very pleased that our film has had a great response and we don't think we will ever come across another story like this again. All the best The Taxi Driver
Hi Sunrise seven, with a fantastic summer this year it really showed off Hannah's meadow at it best and it really does show how herbicides and pesticides etc if not used properly can kill off a lot of our native plants. I am pleased to say that as we go travelling round the country we see more and more meadows like Hannah's. With farmers leaving their hedges uncut until after the birds have nested and wider grass margins around the edges of fields we really do think most farmers are making a big effort to encourage wildlife back on to their land. Hannah was and still is a big inspiration to a lot of people. All the best The Taxi Driver.
Thank you so for this lovely beautiful video. Hannah was an amazingly kind and gentle lady with a beautiful spirit. The way she lived her life continually inspires me. I’m truly grateful and pray her legacy will live on.
This is a most wonderful tribute to Hannah ! Thank you so much for such a heartfelt and intimate window into her life. She was an extraordinary individual . The land is so beautiful , and her stone farmhouse and barn. I believe that her spirit remains the "keeper of the land" Thank you so much for this wonderful video ! All the best, Andrea
Hi Greg, as Hannah's family died out and she was left alone on the farm Hannah did have a very hard life in the winter but in the summer it is a fabulous place with all the wild flowers. It was angina in her 60's that forced her to leave but she always wanted to go back. We think it's great that her life is still remembered today even though she left the farm a long time ago. This is a great walk on a warm sunny day. All the best The Taxi Driver
Hi FF7824, thank you for your comment. We put a lot of effort into trying to tell Hannah's story, not the easiest thing to do. Her story was an inspiration for people of all ages even today although she led a solitary and frugal life she was always a happy person. While we were making the film the weather was perfect and we had a fantastic day out. All the best The Taxi Driver.
Hi Lisa even though Hannah left her home a long time ago her prence can still be felt there. It was easy to think that as you walked around the meadow that she would just pop up and say hello. Nothing has changed since she lived there, just a magical place and the amount of wildlife that we encountered when we filmed the walk last July was incredible. We shall go back again. All the best The Taxi Driver
Hannah said in one of films that she would return to haunt her old home. It would also be nice if a proper memorial stone was placed where she rests in the cemetery.
I am so glad to hear she lived till 91! She certainly deserved to experience a little leisure in her later years. I was myself born in Yorkshire almost 58 years ago . I left when I was quite young tho and came back to America. It is a beautiful place with beautiful meadows and stone fences. I think I would have liked it there ..if my parents would have chosen to stay . Today I give tribute to a dear sieter I never got to meet but who was a woman much like me..sold out to her farm and animals. I do look forward to meeting her one day in heaven :) Thank you for sharing this beautiful place...good day.
Hi 123kkambiz, Hannah was a remarkable lady with an amazing life story. To be sat outside the barn above Hannah's Meadow in full bloom, having a cup of tea was something special. The amount of wildlife when we filmed it in July was also amazing as a lot it was flying around us as we were filming. Everything was so peaceful as we walked along, away from all the modern noises. This is certainly a great family walk for a picnic on a lovely summer day and one we hope to do again. All the best The Taxi Driver
@@thetaxidriverj Thanks again for your reply, I was thinking the place will be good place for camping area for schools' scouts, bringing school students that beautiful place and show them the documentaries to them and have fun and play their activities. It will be good for local people. of course it should not the local environment be disturbed.
Thank you Itbmurr1, this was a fabulous walk and we got a lot of pleasure out of making the video. We timed it with the weather and time of year so Hannah's Meadows would be at their best. All the best The Taxi Driver
Hi michele, it was our pleasure to do this video. A beautiful place to walk and have a picnic on a lovely summers afternoon. All the best The Taxi Driver
I was sorry to.hear that Hannah had died, l have ben living in Rome for many years but l'm originally a "Yorkshire Lass" and l have the l99l edition of her book Its been read by my children and grandchildren and borrowed to friends throughout the years, Its such an incredibile story ,thanks for bringing back memories to me
Hi Carol sorry for not replying sooner. It was sad to hear of Hannah's death in January that is why we waited until the flowers in her meadows were at their best in July before we filmed this video. As you can see the countryside around her farm is beautiful in the summer but very bleak in the winter. There was a lot of wildlife but we didn't manage to film it all. All the best The Taxi Driver
💔😌🙏 you have to wait a year until putting headstone on when someone gets buried ..I think Hannah will have a headstone sooñ she was no pauper ..bless her soul
Hi Madeleine, what a lovely gentle lady she was. The thing that stands out about Hannah is that she always saw the good side of everybody and every situation. Her story seems sad through todays eyes but in her day she was very happy with her life. On the summer day we were filming it was fabulous just to sit in the top field overlooking Hannah's Flower Meadow watching all the insects, butterflies and birds. What a fantastic legacy and memory to Hannah's life. All the best The Taxi Driver
@@thetaxidriverj I so enjoyed your film. And getting to know Hannah. She was lovely and I thank you for introducing me via video, to her. Best of luck in your future.
I've watched all of the documentaries on Hannah, from when I was a kid till now. I am left thinking that there are many, many people in this world alone like Hannah was, in many different countries, all living their life in remote places. None will be known off, they live their lives up remote mountains in India, the outback of Australia, the Steppes of Russia. Many, many lives, that just live and will be the last of their tribe or family.
I remember watching the programmes back then. She was truly an amazing woman. We can learn so much from her. It was only today looking up the documentaries on here the i found the sad news she had died this year. It must have been terrible for her to have to leave her home. I'm very surprised that her ashes were not scattered at the place she loved so much but then again that decision is unknown. Thank you for this tribute and for taking us there, I'm sure she is there in spirit.
Hi Sunrise, sorry for not replying sooner this must be one we missed with being very busy working over the christmas period. Hannah seemed very happy with the simple things in life even when she went away filming for the TV she was soon eager to get back to the quietness of the hills. This was a fabulous walk but not an easy story to tell, at every shot I had to stop and take a deep breath before I could start talking. Over the wall just in front of the big dam at the back of Hannah's house there was an old disused toilet block when I open the door out of curiosity there were five baby rabbits no more than two weeks old huddled together on the concrete floor in the corner but before I could film them they were gone. I am sure Hannah would of loved that moment if she had seen it. Thanks for your comment all the best The Taxi Driver
Thank you Helen, we left this walk on purpose until the wild flowers were in full bloom to show Hannah's Meadow at its best. All the best The Taxi Driver
Hi again. I had to watch your film again after reading the book "Hannah - The Complete Story." After watching this video the first time, I bought the book and set it aside until I could get to it. The story you told while traveling through the Dales brings her life a little more into focus and makes it that much easier to imagine what it was like for her there. Thank you for first bringing the memory of this lady and this place to my attention. Amidst the troubling events and situations we face in the world, it is comforting to wonder, as you have, near those places that have history and memories that can give us hope and peace. We can appreciate nature and its beauty as well as the courage and strength of persons like Hannah. Keep "moving forward" dear sir.
Thank you Cynthia, we have had a fantastic response to Hannah's story. What an amazing lady. By doing the walk you can really appreciate how hard life was for her in winter but beautiful in the summer when the flower meadows are at their best. All the best The Taxi Driver
BRILLIANT thanks for showing what a beautiful gentle person .T G he last remaining years were spent in comfort..Such a remarkable womon R i p Hanna .❤❤❤
We wish Yorkshire every year from America. We love it there. We stay in Sedbergh. New subscriber. We have a family travel channel ourselves. Great video.
lovely video, have been reading up on Hannah's life and watching videos over the last couple of days. I'm considering visiting Hauxwell country on a forthcoming visit to England next month. My parents who are sadly both no longer with us were fans of Hannah's and used to take me on holidays to Yorkshire, so there's the possibility that I have already visited Hauxwell country as a child although I have no recollection of it. A really fascinating lady, rest in peace Hannah
2012 I accidently drove to Barnard Castle.. When on vacation from the States. I loved it and found the story of Hannah and have been to Hannah's meadow..2020 I finally have moved from States to Barney. She gave us a special place to walk in the Dales true peace. 💓 Please organise a charity Hannah walk!
@@aprile271 Hi Miriam, Hannah lived a gentle life and never yearned for material things she was just very happy being round her animals. We made this video a year ago when the wild flowers in Hannah's Meadow were at their best. In the last few weeks while driving my taxi in York I picked up a family from the Barnard Castle area, as we got talking about the area the grandfather in his eighties informed me he had known Hannah for well over 40 years and met her on many occasions and said she was a lovely quiet lady who was very content with her life on the farm. The rest of the family in my car lived next door to Hannah when she moved to Cotherstone and saw her about the village often, it is just amazing how we live in such a small world and how Hannah's story leaves a big impact on people even today. All the best The Taxi Driver.
Hi Theresa, we waited five months until Hannah's Meadows was in full flower before we filmed this. Her life story was so moving that it took us a long time film it. We had to keep pausing to take a deep breath but we also found her life an inspiration at the same time. Hannah was only interested in the simple things in life like her farm and her animals. Fame and money meant nothing to her. We have had some really nice comments about Hannah's life story and we are really glad that we could tell in with a walk. All the best The Taxi Driver.
Thank you Eliza, she was a truly remarkable woman but also a very happy women even though by today's standards her story seemed sad. It's a beautiful part of the country to live in, lovely in the summer but very bleak in winter. All the best The Taxi Driver
Fantastic lady, one thing I remember from living on the edge of the pennines as a child in the 70s is just how bitter cold it used to get in the winters
It so very fabulous that they left her property to be a Nature Reserve ! She would be so pleased , a very nice way to remember a fantastic original Lady Hanna ! She said “ if people see a person roaming thew the fields after my death that will be my ghost “ ! Hannas with Jesus Now , getting her relaxation all the pleasures she didn’t have in life , she never complained, just appreciated every sing little this she was blessed with ,that others couldn’t imagine living life that way them selves , but Hanna was so happy and appreciated everything small in her live , smallest things , and everything threw her eyes was very beautiful !
Hello Gary thank you for your comment. Hannah led a very solitary life but one that she was very happy with. She never looked for fame it was just foisted upon her. To try and tell her life story wasn't the easiest film to make but once edited we were very pleased at what we had put together. What a great lady all the best The Taxi Driver.
Hi Johnson's Decision, Hannah Hauxwell was truly a remarkable woman. She found happiness in the simple things in life even though in the harsh winters it was very difficult for her living 1,000 foot up in the high dales without the modern facilities we have today. Even when she left the farm she only moved a few miles down the road to Cotherstone. From there she went on to an old people's home where she died early this year. People of our generation have always known about Hannah Hauxwell but reading her life story as we were making this film really brought it home to us what a remarkable life she had. After she was discovered by Yorkshire Television she travelled a lot and even met the Queen but she was only really happy in the Dales. The video we made was very sad but inspiring at the same time, we hope when we go back to Romaldkirk to visit her grave next year that she will have a proper headstone. All the best for Christmas The Taxi Driver
Hi Farmer 2003, thank you. We were very sad to hear Hannah had died. We decided to wait until the flower meadows around her farm were at their best before we filmed this. Trying to tell her story was sad but very uplifting. Hannah seemed to be a very happy soul. The response to this video has been fantastic. All the best The Taxi Driver
Lovely video. I really hope to be able to visit someday soon. I remember watching the films about Hannah when I was quite little and was very sad to hear of her passing last year!
Hi Cazfloss, we waited until 2nd July to make this video and a hot summers day so we could see Hannah's Meadow at it's best. There are some seats outside the memorial barn at High Birk Hat overlooking her meadow and the valley she so loved. This is a fabulous place to have a cuppa and admire the view that Hannah must have looked at thousands of times. All the best The Taxi Driver
Wonderful docu/video',In the Sumer ov 83 I n 5 other East Hull Harriers were out on a run in birkdale,we ran for an hour or more on a beautiful somers day past the lane end along the well trodden path, leaning on a gate post was a very weathered disheveled lady I instantly recognised from a winter to long?yes indeed it was Hannah,as we ran past I said aw right misses, she looked at us n said aye as if to say ur mad running on a day like this,I explained to the others that's Hannah Hawkswell ov the docu series in the 70,s n how I admired & always wanted to meet her,I me in my early 60's now n have met Hannah twice more since, she was a friend ov my mum's friend Cassie in Beverley, then Hannah was guest of honour at the Bridlington old comrades weekend where the band I used to play in the CL&CGB old members band were leading the parade in 2001,again I was able to speak to my Heroin, all the people she must ov met in her life since leaving the farm n she remembered meeting me on that run & in Beverley, she was a Lady who will never be forgotten RIP Hannah a true lovely Yorkshire great, a CHARACTER & LEGEND missed by all who had the privilege of meeting her!!!
Hi Graham, it's amazing that it is nearly a year since Hannah departed. We are very grateful that you have told us about your meeting with Hannah in 1983 even though it was a brief conversation and then to meet her twice more is something special. When you look at how beautiful the setting at Low Birk Hatt Farm overlooking the reservoir where she drew her drinking water from and the hay barn above Hannah's Meadow which is now a fantastic memorial to Hannah and her life, set up by Durham Wildlife Trust, the place where we sat and had a cup of tea, it was so peaceful with skylarks and lapwings flying around, it is easy to see how Hannah love it so much. We think this is a great family walk for a summers day. Just down the road a few miles is the beautiful village of Romaldkirk where there are two lovely local pubs on the green for a drink and an evening meal and further down the road at the cemetary you can pay your respects to Hannah. Thank you once again all the best The Taxi Driver
Hi Don, thank you. This was a fabulous video to make we waited nearly five months to make this film to make sure the wild flowers in Hannah's meadow were at their peak. All the best The Taxi Driver
Hello Levi, Happy New Year and all the best to you too. Hannah was an incredible lady who lived a very frugal lifestyle but the thing that shines through is that she was happy with life. If its a hot summers day and if anybody's wondering where to go for a walk and a picnic in the Dales we think this one would be good. Thank you The Taxi Driver
God Bless Hannah. Certainly difference from how people are in today's violent society. Women with no self respect and dignity constantly half naked pushing themselves on to men. She was from a generation that was far more dignified and respectable. They worked hard too.
Hi izzy m in Tewkesbury sorry to hear its so wet. We love the Cotswolds and would love to film a walk around Tewkesbury when we have studied our map to find the right walk. We filmed Hannah's story in the summer when Hannah's flower meadow was in full bloom. The area around her place was absolutely beautiful but at this time of year it is very wet and cold where she lived on top of the Pennines. We intend to do a walk around where Hannah is buried when the weather gets better next year. All the best The Taxi Driver
did you say minus 15 degrees?i didnt even realize we could get that cold in england? wow,no wonder she had to snuggle up with the cows..she is an inspiration indeed,i cried my eyes out when she had to leave the farm and her cows in that programmex
nice video .did the hauxwell tour tuesday chapel at barnard castle cemetary at romaldkirk cottage at cottherstone and lower birkhat farm .baldersdale was put on the map by hannah sad to see no headstone just a bunch of plastic roses so sad after all i hope some one will be looking after the lady of the dales..r i p.
Hi ray, we must admit after walking in memory of hannah Hauxwell, such a fabulous quiet lady of the Dales, we were disappointed that there was no headstone on her grave. But we hope that the amount of good publicity she has and will generate for the Barnard Castle, Cotherstone and Romaldkirk area that it will be put this right soon. All the best The Taxi Driver.
My maternal grandmother's people came from Giggleswick and south of there also. Very sturdy, hard working and honest to a fault. Where was Hanna from there? Thank you for answering my question. Love learning about the area. Johanne
What an amazing Lady …. the Mold that made Hannah would be lost now and that saddens me as Hannah was the perfect example of a Perfect Lady. …. Maybe Yorkshire Television or the BBC can do something about giving Hannah a nice Head Stone. Hannah deserves this, let's face it the Television Stations would have made enough on the TV programmes to do that for Hannah. at least.
Hi Limgiga, Hannah Hauxwell certainly had an amazing life, by today's standards it's hard to believe. July is the best time to visit Hannah's Meadow when all the wildflowers are at their best. If you tap in Hannah Hauxwell on your internet you will find a lot of sites from videos to write ups and pictures that tell the story of Hannah and how she lived etc. All the best The Taxi Driver
It's really too bad that there wasn't even one person who would help her , to make her life bet easier in harsh winter times. Since she became famous without even wanted to be , the community not to mention the country suddenly become proud of her . It's like glorifying suffering. My love goes to Hanna's sweet and kind spirit.
Hi Jo-Anna, Hannah was a lovely quiet person and there is no better place on a sunny afternoon to sit above her meadow and watch all the birds flying around. Thank you for your comment all the best The Taxi Driver
Her strength in spirit is a wonderful tribute. There is so much to express as I just discovered this Gem. I was taken aback see she had left 1million to her 2nd cousin.
Wonder if her Cousin even took time to spend with her. She cared so deeply about her family's future, I pray they appreciate it and continue as She did.
Though she had no family a lot of her life - that doesn’t mean she was necessarily lonely I have a very large family - 6 brothers and feel as lonely as can be 💗
Hi Emma, the one thing that came across while we were trying to tell Hannah Hauxwell's story was how happy she was with the simple things in life. We found it hard to tell her story and had to keep stopping to take a deep breath. Hannah went down to London to attend the Royal garden party in aid of the Queen Mothers 80th birthday and stopped in a posh hotel, after a while she found London very lonely. Nobody said hello as they would in Yorkshire she said and was glad to get back to the peace and quiet of the hills. I work nights driving a cab round the streets of York and I come across a lot of lonely people especially at Christmas time. Because I am an older driver and don't have the need to rush about all the time I do try to make an effort to listen if someone needs to get something off their chest. I don't know what the answer is to being lonely but I certainly think you have made a good start by sending your message. Sometimes peoples family members have their own problems and don't see what is happening around them. I hope anybody reading this message and who feels lonely at this time of year will drop you a line even if it is only to say Merry Christmas. A big Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from The Taxi Driver
thetaxidriverj Thankyou for your really kind message And for This video I have watched all,of her videos on TH-cam and find her absolutely fascinating so humble and content , something I always hope for my children You sound like a lovely man. I live in Cornwall and it is a very community spirit here compared to London where there’s no eye contact or cares for others living around you. I’ve also been to Yorkshire three times and fell in love with the dales and villages and people . I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Healthy Happy New Year 💖
@@daniellarose9391 Hi Emma, thank you for your reply our next walk is just 20 miles from where Hannah Hauxwell lived at High cup Nick on the edge of the Pennines in Cumbria. This is a great walk and hope to have it uploaded as soon as we have finished editing. All the best The Taxi Driver
HANNAH DID NOT LIVE IN YORKSHIRE BUT UPPER TEASDALE WHICH IS COUNTY DURHAM NEXT COUNTY NORTH OF YORKSHIRE AND JUST AS GORGEOUS HANNAH WOULD OF COURSE AGREE.BLESS YOU SWEET LADY😂❤❤XXX
Hannah Hauxwell was at that place most 'Christians' strive to get to all their lives, but never make it because they think they are something special because they read their bible and go to church every Sunday, infact what most of them do is look down on other people because you dont fit into their 'moral compass', Hannah Hauxwell was the personification of a truly loving, kind, humble human being.
Hi Mary. We hope to go back to do a walk in the area in the next few weeks and will visit Hannah's grave to see if she has a headstone now, then we will let you know. All the best The Taxi Driver
Yes I was wondering why a headstone hadn't been put up for hannah. I know it's expensive but I'm sure it could be paid for somehow and provide a fitting memorial for a remarkable lady.
Hannah was BORN AND BRED IN COUNTY DURHAM UPPER TEASDALE NEAR BISHOP AUCKLAND COUNTY DURHAM.DIFFERENT COUNTY TO YORKSHIRE FURTHER NORTH , BUT JUST AS BEAUTIFUL. HANNAH WOULD AGREE.

Nothing like the gorgeous English countryside. Hannah will be lovingly remembered. May her spirit roam this land ❤️❤️❤️
What a beautfull story about a beautfull Lady may she rest in peace
I learned of Hannah Hauxwell yesterday. I've watched each video and have been deeply touched. Currently, we are living in a time of unrest. Watching this lady's resolve to live a solitary life was somehow very comforting. Her kindly countenance and soft voice drew me to her. She was a grand and noble woman. She might have been viewed as poor and strange while she was alive, but with the ability now to see her on film, I can't help but think she was a uniquely gifted human being. Surely, while she lived, she would never have guessed how many people's lives she would touch.
Gritty.. yet lovely and eloquent and humble. Any man would have had his head held high to have Hannah walk by his side. God rest her sweet soul!
"Where ever I am........what ever I am........this is me" Hannah's words.........Bless her ☘💚
Hi Catherine, the thing that stands out most about Hannah is that she was very happy with life. Have a great Christmas all the best The Taxi Driver
thetaxidriverj thank you for replying to my comment........Have great Christmas.......bless you ☘💚
Determined to visit her story is so inspiring.
We could all learn a lot from her😊❤️
Me and are lass love your videos and walks please keep it up
The world will never see the likes of her again .rest in peace Hannah
When she said whatever I am wherever I am this is me 💔 that really choked me up god love her, sleep tight Hannah 💛
Thank you for this.Hannah was a beautiful woman, in a beautiful place.May she live on as my dear daughter also named Hannah, I miss my girl
GOD BLESS you both....
I will visit here for a walk someday soon. This lady touched my heart. She was so humble and kind.bless her.
She called the reservoir my Mississippi, what a lovely tribute to a beautiful kindred spirit that Hannah was!
HANNAH IS BEAUTIFIL, I NEVER TIRE WATCHING HER!!!!!+
Thank you for reminding us of Hannah I watched the TV programs in the70s Amazing woman ! living in those conditions while we lived in relative comfort lovely tribute about a lovely lady who lived in a lovely land .
Absolutely fabulous video, thank you. I'm buying her books and reading them slowly, fascinating life and sure a national treasure ♥️
We watched her programmes all those years ago, bless her ❤
Just god herself and a beautiful meadow and valley and her animals for company I think she had everything
And it also just shows how nature can manage the land itself, no pestesides etc. Thank goodness it was noticed and kept and named after her.
I believe that her spirit remains the "keeper of the land"
Thank you so much for this wonderful video !

a wonderful tribute to a fine lady.
Hi Christopher, thank you. She certainly was an amazing woman. All the best The Taxi Driver
Thanks for great video good to see land without the snow .she was an amazing women with a hard life that most people cannot fathom today .
I just finished viewing the video "A Winter Too Many." What an interesting lady. Her story is an inspiration. Thank you again.
Oh, it’s beautiful there. No wonder she never wanted to leave it.
Oh Hannah, I wish your spirit still walks through your flower meadow, forever. ♥
Hello..i am joveck from Austin Texas...where do you came from
Hannah said in one of films that she would return to haunt her old home.
Beautiful tribute to Hannah Hauxwell ,thank you for uploading and visiting her village.
It is a heartfelt tribute.PLEASE SOMEONE GET HER A STONE OR MARBLE HEAD STONE ON HER GRAVE.
💔😌🙏 you have to wait a year until putting headstone on when someone gets buried ..I think Hannah will have a headstone sooñ she was no pauper ..bless her soul

Hannah was quite a lady. I enjoyed seeing the documentaries immensely. She deserved tribute.
Best of luck in your future.
beautiful video
Excellent!
Thanks, I was so excited to hear about the flower meadow when I watched her films. Magnificent tour ❤
Thank you FF7842. All the best The Taxi Driver
What a beautiful tribute! Thank you!
Thank you Cynthia, we have had a fantastic response to Hannah's story. What an amazing lady. By doing the walk you can really appreciate how hard life was for her in winter but beautiful in the summer when the flower meadows are at their best. All the best The Taxi Driver

Just wonderful story
She was and always be a memorial to the simpler life of joy

Hi FF7824, thank you. All the best The Taxi Driver
This was excellent. Thank you so much for doing it. I have her books and seen the documentaries.

Hello from Canada 🇨🇦
Fantastic lady, one thing I remember from living on the edge of the pennines as a child in the 70s is just how bitter cold it used to get in the winters
Hannah Hauxwell did not actually live in the Yorkshire Dales, but further north, at an isolated farm near Barnard Castle that is in County Durham.
What an amazing lady. Very well presented . Very interesting .
Hello..i am joveck from Austin Texas...where do you came from
thank you for making this film
What a true British woman.
Hello from Texas!!

I'm sorry people that should of read baldersdale
Hi Neal she was certainly from a hard working generation and very kind and generous as well. All the best The Taxi Driver

I KEEP WATCHING THIS, I THINK HANNAH ENJOYED HER LIVE AND DID NOT THINK OF IT AS HARDSHIP.
What an amazing Lady …. the Mold that made Hannah would be lost now and that saddens me as Hannah was the perfect example of a Perfect Lady. …. Maybe Yorkshire Television or the BBC can do something about giving Hannah a nice Head Stone. Hannah deserves this, let's face it the Television Stations would have made enough on the TV programmes to do that for Hannah. at least.
Love to visit were Hannah lived it would be a lovely experience and a nice day out I'm glad they named the pestisides in her name that's respect
Did anyone note that Miss Hauxwell and Queen Elizabeth, II were born in the same year? What great and gracious ladies and yet what different lives.
This is beautiful. Where can we find more of Hanna story.
Hi Limgiga, Hannah Hauxwell certainly had an amazing life, by today's standards it's hard to believe. July is the best time to visit Hannah's Meadow when all the wildflowers are at their best. It's really too bad that there wasn't even one person who would help her , to make her life bet easier in harsh winter times. Since she became famous without even wanted to be , the community not to mention the country suddenly become proud of her . It's like glorifying suffering. My love goes to Hanna's sweet and kind spirit.

I would have thought that she might have had the help to stay in her home .I have an idea that she didn't want to leave but was persuaded to sell .
RIPlovely ladt we wont see the likes of you again x
Though she had no family a lot of her life - that doesn’t mean she was necessarily lonely

A big Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from The Taxi Driver
thetaxidriverj Thankyou for your really kind message
And for This video I have watched all,of her videos on TH-cam and find her absolutely fascinating so humble and content , something I always hope for my children
You sound like a lovely man.

Hello and Hey! from the U.S.A.
Hello Joe from the USA we love you Americans what more can I say. Hope you enjoyed this film all the best from England, The Taxi Driver
I adore her☘️💚R.I.P. Angel
Sad to see such a plain grave , no flowers nothing , very sad .
Makes me sad that no-one has put a gravestone up for her.
Hi Mary. We hope to go back to do a walk in the area in the next few weeks and will visit Hannah's grave to see if she has a headstone now, then we will let you know. All the best The Taxi Driver
Hello...i am Doctor joveck from Austin Texas...where do you came from
@@jovecksmith5821 Hi we come from North Yorkshire, England. All the best The Taxi Driver
Yes I was wondering why a headstone hadn't been put up for hannah. I know it's expensive but I'm sure it could be paid for somehow and provide a fitting memorial for a remarkable lady.
@@t090e that's lovely to hear and thanks for the link to a photo. Looks like a stone from the dales which hannah would have been very pleased with.
Hannah was BORN AND BRED IN COUNTY DURHAM UPPER TEASDALE NEAR BISHOP AUCKLAND COUNTY DURHAM.DIFFERENT COUNTY TO YORKSHIRE FURTHER NORTH , BUT JUST AS BEAUTIFUL. HANNAH WOULD AGREE.
