After spending two days in Munich, we took a day trip to the most beautiful part of Germany. The Bavarian Alps are near the border of Salzburg. Berchtesgaden was a two-and-a-half-hour train ride from Munich; then, we took a 20 minutes bus ride to Konigsee, a magical lake near the town of Berchtesgaden - my bucket list. In the end, we took a taxi going there as buses were few and our schedule was hectic. We paid 25euros for a return trip on the boat to see the church of St Bartholomew and Salet where you can hike for another 20 minutes to see an even more beautiful lake, which we decided not to do as we were reliant on public transport.
We took another taxi to Ramsau to discover the postcard-perfect village in person. The type you only see on Instagram, and it was worth it!!
