Fairytale wasn’t supposed to be a ramazan drama. The drama was actually really good and well written. The best part was there was no toxicity. The hero was such a green flag through out. I honestly feel like it’s the first time a hero apologised without and ifs and buts, without blaming the heroine once, and the messaging one should love another person with their flaws. And also a girl who is flawed but has reasons, is strong, confident and loves unapologetically, is so refreshing. No plotting against each other, no loud annoying characters shouting in punjabi, no fuzool ka drama. A cute romcom, like a fairytale!

Best part is no fazool loud character shouting in Punjabi...the way they served pure Urdu comedy with light humor is the best thing which kept engage the audience
The hero was such a green flag throughout. He always waited for his ladylove to give directions and then take steps in all situations related to her or both of them. Yes Farjad >>>>>>>>>>>> all men
In last few episodes, he called Umeed personally to make her understand the value of life, hard work, success and money. He never went to that toxic zone of making her feel guilty of the mistakes she does. Nobody is pitch perfect here, so some messages in FT were realistic.
I'm 23 and I thoroughly enjoyed fairy tale. I don't know why Hasan keeps promoting heer da hero. I understand that you have a good bond with Imran Ashraf but that doesn't mean that you will keep promoting trashy content and not acknowledge what a fresh, fun-loving drama fairy tale is.
Though you don't get to see the blatant romance between Hamza and Seher but the subtle romance was on point. Being an avid fan of Turkish and Korean drama, I've completely loved the chemistry of umeed and Farjad.
And another plus point of the drama was, of course, non-toxic family members and no preachiness 😂
FAIRYTALE was the sweetest and cutest of Ramadan dramas this year! New concepts like game show, new kinda characters like Aaghu Jan, the beautiful chemistry, the beautiful relations, everything was LOVELY!

Fairy Tale was not only for youth. It was light hearted. Not sure why Amna and Hassan dont properly appreciate Fairy Tale success. You can not say that it was just for youth and no logic. Fairy tale was very light hearted and soothing to watch but Hassan always praise Heer da Hero which was so loud and OTT
The last one that is beach scene was literally like living in a fairytale
The place was so magical and with Hamza and Sehar's chemistry the whole scene automatically became magical

I didn’t watch even a single episode of Fairytale during Ramzaan, because I usually don’t have that kind of time in Ramzaan. But I had been reading a lot of great reviews about it so started watching it and boy i am hooked! Love love love Hamza and Sehar. I tried finding faults but wasn’t able to find any till episode 10. It has a very K drama kind of feel and I’m all for more of it! ❤

My grandparents used to watch fairytale my parents enjoy alott my siblings and I enjoyed alott so it proved that fairytale drama is not for specific age group .It was an entertainment for all
FT: I enjoyed this drama so much. Sehar and Hamza's performances have both captivated our hearts; their chemistry was one of the best. We were left wanting more after the final scene.
Also, special mention & kudos to Ali Safina for his performance.

Fairytale is such a nice play .. the chemistry between leads is so addictive that we actually forgive all the flaws
Fairy tale has made its mark its literally every where this is the first time i’ve seen a ramzaan drama being talks about so much
Fairytale was a cute show. Towards the end I started to like Pasha Sahab's family as well. And the show is actually funny, the interactions between the lead couple - just top notch. I really enjoyed the show! I am 35, so I think it kind of appealed to almost all age groups because of the freshness it offers.
Idec if fairytale was childish, it had loopholes or whatever... At least it was the only drama that showed no toxicity.. Women supporting each other unconditionally like umeed and haya and Mimi.. Have had enough of women plotting against women, like Maryam, Haya and meerub from tere bin.. I really loved how Mimi even tho she loved AK, never turned hostile towards umeed cz AK loved her instead.. She was always a true friend to umeed no matter what. And we need to show that more on our TV screens, period!
Fairy Tale: Most entertaining show, amazing performance from Sehar, Hamza and Ali Safina. I like agho jaan and other support cast as well. Well done everyone. Story is really good with good short and settled messaging without being preachy.
Thee only drama i loved thiss ramzan was FAIRYTALE..waited for its each and every episode with so much anticipation..really miss it tbh..not being able to get it out of my mind..really loved it and so happy that the writer confirmed that we are getting a season 2 and also in tv when it telecasted..in the end it was weitten to be continued..so soo soo happy for the entire cast..wishe them the bestest of luckk..loved it a bit too muchh..please interview hamza and sehar..really want to hear about their journey and bts of the making of fairytale..❤️❤️

Fairy Tale : I feel the positives far outweighed the negatives. It was so charming! And written with such skill, such as Umeed's flaws were due to lack of guidance and trust from her father, and many cute characters like Agu Jhan, plus hilarious situations like Farjad being pushed in the pool or when he falls and calls Umeed 'Manhoos larki'. I enjoyed the camera work/settings too, like the table set in the beautiful garden. I feel you've not given credit where it's due. But do concede, production houses need to iron out mistakes otherwise FT would be 10/10!
Yes agreed they just didn't review it with all their heart, just reviewed it for the sake of reviewing it. People on twitter did much better analysis of this show than them. If they reviewed it with more depth they sure would've found the "intellect" that they were looking for..
@Ushna Mubashir I agree. The reviews have not been good! Such a shame. I especially loved the script. The writer gave us words like 'changez khan halakoo khan ka robot version' 😆 the chemistry of the leads was partly due to the fantastic writing. Hassan and Aamna have ignored all of this..

@@ushnamubashir9315 I agreed 👍 from the very first day hasan is being negative about fairy tale...he misses all the positive points and starts debating on small points...he criticise every small situation rather than talking about the good points...what they want writer makes story for the audience not for the critics...and he saying fairytale was for kids and teenagers and not for them bro you are grown up man now...your daughter watches this drama...now writers will not make rom come for yu guys ...they gonna make for youth...and in last they showed up how to be not clumsy like umeed and how to live a better life with the guidance of your elders and with the love and courage of doing hard work
I usually like the haute reviews but today's was very off f9r fairy tale...audiences loved the drama fairy tale and its still growing on them. How can you ignore the fact that chai is considered kind of a national drink of Pakistan young and old and was one point that struck a chord with all...we see in reality the game shows in Pakistan...yes some silly facts were there which gava a light feel to it, but this drama shed light on many facts of an ordinary city household of Pakistan. ❤ Fairy tale and the couple of Hamza and Sehar the most ❤ the production, details and direction all was on point 🎉 congratulations team Fairy tale....

I feel most people watched Fairy tale just because of Hamza and Seher's chemistry. Even though other characters were also good but the main center of attraction were the leads Hamza & Seher which kept us viewers hooked to this drama. ❤❤
Chand tara, i enjoyed throughout ramadan as i felt it was a very warm & comforting drama but i agree with your review that there were few things in drama which were not good.

The only drama i enjoyed was fairy tale. Initially i started with chand tara. But left after 15 episodes. I started watching fairy tale and watched 9 episodes in 2 days. Loved it.
And only watched first episodes of tere ane se and heer da hero . Couldn't bear that. Not my taste

About Fairytale, it was definitely the best Ramzan drama this year! I loved it, loved each and every charachter and the entire feel of this show. I don't agree with your review though, about the point where you say that this show lacks intellect, i don't think so. This show showed no female rivalry over one guy, rather gave us such a wholesome sisterhood between the characters which is usually never shown in your so called "intellectuall" pakistani dramas. Secondly such an amazing message to not earn money through shortcuts. I agree a few scenes were added as fillers, yet they were enjoyable. About you guys calling it a show for children then I don't think so that it was "Childeren" who were making it trend on twitter everyday all thorough out ramzan. Grown up, mature people watched it and enjoyed it. You guys should've appreciated the whole team for tapping into a romcom genre and making it so successful with their hard work, such romcoms we rarely see on pakistani tv, these are actually what we want to see, rather than the misery that they show! Loved Seher And Hamza and have become a fan of theirs for life now! Will miss this show, but still happy that a 2nd season is coming!

The fairy tale is best drama and in this drama never show a negative character and we enjoy it. New generation want to this type of drama which gives us smile and hope to do something with your hardship but not using shortcuts .and I love all cast of this drama .love to farmeed😍😍😍

Hasan seemed so irritated when he reviewed fairytale he watched the show forcefully and always his expressions were like sab beekar hai thank you amna for mentioning fairytale's OST really a very good song and very well directed. BTW Hasan itni jaldi main thy k ye bhi nahi batya k fairytale miss hai ya hit?
I found hassan's review of fairytale disappointing as he constantly described it as only appealing to children. I am sorry it was a nice rom com and like all rom coms its unique selling point was the light hearted romance which definitely appealed to younger audience more(not children).
It is ok if you don't like a drama but please put in some effort when you are reviewing it. The writer in her interview said that she wanted to write a modern day fairytale with a prince charming etc etc. So trying to belittle it by saying aqal ko side per rakh ker daikhain,ya logic ko side per rakh dain doesn't make sense. Even if you haven't listened to writer's point of view, the name suggests clearly it is a fairytale.
I agree with the dragging of last 2 episodes but absolutely loved the drama overall. I had stopped watching pakistani dramas and I am a 39 year old educated person(not a child),saw some clips and got hooked to the drama(of course the main lead track..but that was good enough to keep me hooked).
Also I agree about the weak second lead track but absolutely loved the sisterhood between ummeed and haya and ummeed and mimi. It felt so nice seeing them supporting eachother.
It was also disappointing that you didn't mention that it is probably going for a season 2 which shows the confidence makers have gathered from its success.

So true….Hassan is always very biased. This entire time he has been promoting Heer da Hero like crazy even though it was forced laughter in most of the scenes. I loved Fairy Tale and how simple everything was. But Hamza and Shehar aren’t Hassan’s friends so he won’t say good things about it. Very disappointing.

agreed, just don't understand what obsession they have with logic while reviewing fairytale, when the name itself is literally "Fairytale" Never once did they mention the sisterhood that was shown between the female leads while reviewing the drama, amna should've when she repeatedly mentions that she's had enough of female rivalry in pakistani dramas, but when shown they fail to appreciate it. Hassan surely has a bias towards heer da hero.
Honestly Fairytale besides the whole amazing chemistry served by Hamza and Sehar also gave so many good messages from an unapologetic and brave FL to a green flag ML. I can understand the bit of being disappointed by the end but that is more along the lines of the fact that the writer and production house's aim was just to present the confession and show how serious both Umeed and Farjaad are towards each other and lay the foundation for S2. Considering we are having another season whatever we got here and what we will get in the future is going to be one of the most organic developments shown by a couple. For me personally Fairytale took the lead when it comes to being the best Ramadan show.

Fairytale was a good drama and I don't agree that it was made for "kids" yes it could be catered to a younger audience but not exactly kids. It was a perfect rom com drama without much preaching. I think most of the holiday films are like fairytale something you would just sit and enjoy and imagine if it would happen to you in real. Looks like you guys didn't enjoy it, don't know why cause you just lapped up dramas like TB and KTK saying roastable to h, the review was half hearted.
The writer herself said she wanted to write a literal "fairy tale" in a modern setting. That makes sense why some parts of it was not rooted in reality qnd illogical. But the cherry on top has to be Hamza and Seher and the ost is really good too !

I think more than the same faces it's also about how the audience wants younger people and younger romance instead of the older people faking it on screen! everyone is bored of the monotony, in case of fairytale coming out of nowhere and killing it
Honestly loved fairy tale, and i understand why one may think it caters to a younger audience but not exactly kids it’s more for the newer generation which i really refreshing. This drama had a really nice story and honestly i didn’t mind the whole chai thing bc it never became annoying. I dont think we should undermine the efforts of such an amazing drama by not appreciating the fresh faces and the story. It may seem like a “short story” but honestly it was the best story out of all the ramzaan dramas and i think in no way did it get dragged and the ending was like that because a season 2 is in the pipeline.

Today's episode of tere bin was sooo good, Finally after 3 weeks saari character development episode 36 mein lol. Really loved watching anwar chaca manaoningfying maa begum for Anas.

Fairytale: the Eid show was after Ramadan as either Umeed or someone else says to Pasha sahab in one of the early episodes that you enjoy the Ramadan episodes of this show then why are you speaking against it now (something like that) but yeah, other than it didn't seem like it was shown to be the month of Ramadan. The story had flaws but all the characters were fun to watch especially Seher Khan as Umeed. It wasn't cringing like other comedy dramas.
Edit: there's going to be a 2nd season of the drama. Already excited for it.

@Anonymous well... obviously!!! But they weren't shown fasting or praying like earlier Ramadan dramas. And my comment was in reply to Hassan and Aamna asking if Ramadan was mentioned or not.
@Anonymous oh I didn't know of her statement about it. But then they shouldn't mention Ramadan and Eid at all bcuz it doesn't make any sense when you don't show them fasting.

When you watch Pathan in theatre as I did, you don't care what the story is, you don't care how the VFX is ,you dont care how is it going to make sense. All you care about is watching SRK on that big screen. I know people have mixed views even in India but for me it was the best movie experience ever. And honestly speaking for me atleast in theatre the movie and it's story was also amazing as i didn't know anything and didn't expect anything. These kind of movies don't have any logic like the Dhoom series anyway. And as you guys said John did an amaaaazing job.

Last episode of Heer da Hero was excellent Imran Ashraf takes his characters to the next level. His expressions are sooo good specially last 10 minutes in the buggy.

I'm a 42 year old woman who is a diehard thriller suspense and science fiction thrill fan, yet I watch kdramas and the Turk dizis for these light mood romcoms ,to feel good, there is a whole genre that says goofy ,funny and romantic.
Feel sense in chaudhry and sons or find heer the hero entertaining ,but couldn't give due credit to Fairy tale and the much needed breath of fresh air it brought.

Interesting discussion, a bit surprised though that you guys still watch commercial/mainstream Bollywood 🤨 I mean nothing against the whole industry but the sort of (tacky) content coming out in more than a decade is largely less than 1% consumable (atleast for me). But maybe its the. GenZ talking cuz we don’t have it as much ingrained in our childhoods as the GenX and probably early millennials.
Add even late millennial in that....Bollywood is a very hard habit to break, most prefer older movies/songs as it is the childhood/youth. I watched 3 mins of shezada and switched it off!
Almost all Ramadan dramas this year were mid to worst. And the simple reason for it is how they treat the humor. It is cringey, boring and the actors aren't committed to make the joke work.
Comedy is no joke, for example in Fairytale even though Umeed and Farjaad had great chemistry, their fight scenes or jokes never landed, even once. Asad always telling corny shayri never worked, because the way Umeed reacts to it or how he delivers them. It's poor script writing.
I hope this years response to Ramadan dramas can make the writer bring some new content to the table.
