im still very amazed with how manual workers do wood carving. I appreciate the patience and passion doing those art but using those machines as well are just good to watch. the quality of work is also very good.
Classical hand woodcarving is learned by learning classic shapes and patterns and repeating each one until it becomes something you could do nearly with your eyes closed. My Grandfather (for example) was a hand wood turner and once spent two years of his boyhood turning the same style stair baluster. We're talking 12 hour days, 6 1/2 days a week and all piece-work. It's all in repetition of the work and complex things being created one step at a time.
Infernal machines like these put my dad out of work. A craftsman. Skilled. Put on the rubbish heal along with the wood shavings from these infernal machines. Where are the craftsmen? Where are all the skilled artisans? Packing aircraft meals. Worming for Asda in the warehouse. Or tour local charity shop. Going home at night to cold roo.s because the wife's have gone away. They sit by the one bar electric fireandeat they're beans. Infernal machines !!!!!😢😢😢😢😢
I would've given this a thumbs up if it weren't for constantly having to pause it to read the captions. Get a good human narrator as opposed to an AI and redo this.
I remember years ago talking to a joinery company’s boss that was about to embark on a trip to Italy to view a new cnc machine he was proposing to purchase for his joinery factory and him telling me he could then lay off 10 bench joiners I know u can’t stop progress but to best of my knowledge that machine was purchased and them carpenters were made redundant so there’s always a price for progress and I always wonder surely there’s got to b a balance between ur personal wealth and the lives of people that have served u well before not to mention the skills that r lost but it always seems people want more
YOU MAY THINK THE MACHINES ARE GREAT, BUT FROM SOMEBODY WHO TAKES PRIDE IN WORKING WITH WOOD AND BUILDING FURNITURE, A LOT OF THE MACHINES TAKE ALL THE FUN OUT OF IT
Sorry, but remarks like “craftsmanship,” “skill,” and “masterpiece” are wholly out of place when CNC machines and automated machinery is involved. Yes, some technical skill is required for assembly, but that’s routine work; any average woodworker can learn to do it effectively.
The title suggests we are going to see machines working wood, but after the first minutes we see only craftsmen doing their brilliant work. There is no audio commentary, so our attention is constantly split between admiring the work and reading the script. Not enough time is given to the various clips. This is a very poorly produced video.
You're such a quick learner

11:15 I saw that blade coming into the other guy's hand.
By the look of this, master craftsmen will all be replaced by software/hardware designers.

The machines don't prevent anyone doing it for fun!
Did one and only one once long before internet - worked out a method and set to and got a result which pleased - memory still gives pleasure.
