"Everything All Over The Screen All At Once" definitely deserved the Oscar!! But yeah... the Heavy + Froggy combo is actually well and truly busted. It's kind of funny in a game that so often gets hyped up for it's fun "broken" runs, you actually found a well and truly BROKEN run! I've had confirmation from the devs that a fix for that combo is now in the works!
Phase bullets is actually great it lets you shoot through the planet so you don’t have to move and can really aim anywhere. You can shoot through the planet with any build really
You know I'm sad that Void heart has ended at least or now but this. This is a very respectable newcomer to fill that void. And a very niche one so good on you. Also, the frog run was because the bullets hop instead of consistently moving so then they get pulled back down to earth whenever they stop due to heavy bullets.
3:05 you can use phase bullets to shoot at enemies while using the planet as a shield against yellow bullets 6:10 instead of having every spice at lvl 1, its better to have 1 or 2 that don't do much on max (I recommend the boss shield and more enemies (which just increases the max amount of enemies on the screen)). also the spice that caps max health is very bad for prairie planet in this version 31:09 congratulations you found probably the only combo that softlocks you tip of the day: red bullets block yellow bullets so especially during the first boss you can use them as a shield
Bullet phase is not just shooting through your planets, it's ultimate piercing. You sometimes have some piercing up to increase piercing numbers. Phase bullets just always pierce, so with bullets looping around the screen, you just shoot through enemies for bullets to come back from the other side. For Heavy Bullets though, it can easily be a run killer with low bullet speed or certain items that slows/stops your bullets, which you could seen with frogs.
Damn Froggy Backpack + Heavy Bullets was cursed. Both of those items are so good individually too. Froggy Backpack basically makes all your bullets hop like frogs with that weird movement pattern, but they also have a homing effect where they will start hopping toward nearby enemies. Without Heavy, they’d just keep going out like normal bullets and be busted as they hop around and target things on the screen as they get close to them.
I was watching the first episode, finished it, and went to the second one. Which reloaded the playlist and showed the newest episode. Props to the people who got here in minutes, I salute you.
Shop price down is OP, even if a “perfect” item shows up i usually take the shop prices instead because it lets me buy like 5 or more extra items further on.
@@OlexaYT i get almost every run with full combo actually, which, when i tend to always max glass and/or take curses, is not the easiest lol. But the combo of combo and discount = all shops are mine for the taking mwahhaha… i crash the game a lot…
I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but the boss rush mode might be worth checking out, as while you get to pick your build at the start, you only get the items one at a time after you defeat a boss, so there is still a sense of progression in it.
I found the same soft lock, tho apparently there are something like 4 possible combos that cause it. However, as of the new patch, supposedly, it will no longer happen… in theory…
I think your take on diffuculty is interesting but especially that you brought up Vampire Survivors. I don't know how much of that game you've played but I have quite a few hours in and I still find it quite difficult at times. I think it has a lot of options for customizing the difficulty and while they're not as clear as the ones in this game they are there. Reflecting on some titles I've played recently I think I've enjoyed the ones with difficulty options/modifiers more which could be a reflection of the additional thought the devs have to put in.
That's true but I would say most of the meta progression can be turned off and the game can be reverted. I'm not sure that's something all games have. I think you're probably right though that Vampire Survivors isn't balanced at all points on it's difficulty curve
You may have been able to hit the boss when it was closest with the froggy bullets. They jump toward enemies when close enough. That said, I think ending it there was a good call lol
The bullets follow the leader is a charged shot that the cooldown line around your planet indicates, it shoots and the bullets all follow it, I don't think its good it ruined a run for me.
Wait, am I missing something with the phase bullets? Can you not just shoot through the planet with any planet? Like, shooting at an enemy from the opposite end of the planet. Edit: Ah there it is 10:30
@@OlexaYT We're talking about a totally different genre, though. It's like calling a game with a mostly linear text-based storyline and possible romance options between the viewpoint character and some NPC a boomer-shooter. Y'all need to get your vocabulary straight. Personally, I blame idiot Diablo fans who couldn't think of a name for their genre, but who knows.
Permadeath, dungeoncrawling, upgrades to your character during the run = roguelike. Those are the three main characteristics taken from rogue that define the roguelike genre. People have gone to turning it into roguelike vs roguelite. Too pedantic, they’re all roguelikes.

fancy seeing you here
Tyler not noticing the bullets following his mouse is mad funny
Actually they dont follow the mouse, they leap toward enemies. The BEES item or the follow the pointer ones are the ones that make it go to the mouse
@@ConnorSinclairCavinhe was talking about rotating bullets run, not frog one

One of the difficulty made your health capped at 4, which sucks for this planet

god the first few moments of the heavy froggy bullets made me lightheaded

Two words for the spinny vullets: Fester's Quest
eh, second person I see getting soft locked with frogs + gravity bullets

22:43 Rat is the best item in the game, because:
1. Planetary size Rat
2. Planetary size Cheese
3. Planetary siz Rat And Cheese
rip heavy frogs!!!
Use the info book to look at items outside of runs, as you grab items it gives you far more detailed info on given items, but only out of run
I think spinny bullets work well with spear bullets
I think bullet speed would have helped your range with heavy bullets. Not sure if there were any opportunities to get it though...
I would turn the item choice sugar on, it makes the game even more fun and crazy
22:42 binding of isaac moment (build nerfed by item )

Vampire survivors is much different though when difficulty is also determined by meta progression improving your stats

love the series! cant wait for the full release!❤❤
got u
Piercing bullets that go off screen I believe count as a miss for that one item its crazy
oh yeah hey you have the max HP lock on the planet that revolves around high hp lol
streamed some paper planet to my GF and her response was "yeah i don't think i have THIS kind of ADHD"
I don’t know if this is right but I feel having shoot through objects may help with the frog heavy bullets thing
Im interested to see how theyll do boss since its like the same 5 bosses every run
Alternate versions of bosses or just straight up different bosses that play similarly to the normal ones are an "easy" fix
lesson learnt don't take heavy bullets with frog
New Olexa video 🎉
Is the "Wild Magic" tooltip on the Wizard's Staff an Owl House reference? I think it might be but I'm not entirely sure.
Wild magic is not specific to Owl House, so it might not be a reference to it specifically.

Tyler the only on to lose at this game

Why are these games called "Roguelikes"? Beyond being played using a computer, they're nothing at all like Rogue.
It’s crazy how times change and the definition of a genre evolves

Yeah, that’s where the liberty of “like” comes in. It’s not identical to rogue. It’s like rogue.
