Looking forward to part 2! I would love to know more about how traits affects companions and vassals and enemies as well, if at all. Perhaps a part 3? 🙃
Personality traits is an area of bannelord in which Im very interested in, so if you want I have an excel spreadsheet with a bunch of the trait rewards for different questions and actions. Would make part 2 easier
Great vid but we need the part 2! Some people seem to think it changes how heroes behave in the campaign map, others say they do nothing. I have to know lol
Awesome video, it would be great to see armor modifiers and how to make them spawn in towns as a future video topic. Ive read a lot of information online and it is difficult to know what is the actual truth of it. Keep it up!
@@hero_on_youtube Hey man, saw your video. I have one question: how does one get around the "town consumption" mechanic to get the crafted items? Is there a specific time of the day when they get removed from the market? If not, you just have to try several times until you are lucky to stumble upon the crafted item with the modifier you want, correct?
Awesome video. Can't wait to see part two and see all the ways to increase the traits, if we get the values for each action so we know which one is worth it, even better. Would also love to know how these traits influence our campaign/interactions with others. Would that be part 3? I know if you have same traits with a lord is better, but not sure what exactly it affects and how much. Also, is there any way to change companion traits, and how are those traits influencing their actions?
The worst trait for my companions is mercy. If they have it they can't lead a bandit corner and they always whine even leave your party with all gears if you raid. Would be cool to know if there is a way to get rid of this trait on companions.
There is a way to change them in the XML, but that wouldn't affect a wanderer that has already spawned. There must be a mod that allows you to adjust that in mid game.
...in a future update... Hahahaha, sob. At this point, will there ever be an update? Edit. Just want to say thank you for these awesome videos. I love seeing how the game logic actually works, or doesn't in many cases. I have been able to level honor to level 2 and both mercy and generosity to level 1 in past playthroughs. Lots and lots of questing. But I've never been able to get any points for increasing Valour or Calculating, no matter what odds I was up against in battle or how many lords I released.
There is a bug with Valor. The strength ratio between the two parties has to be above .9, so it's very difficult to get. I think they need to change either the .9 or the calculation for determining party strength or strength ratio, to fix the issue.
There's a command that shows the levels, but I don't think it shows the xp. I was using a debugger and reading the memory. Someone here mentioned a mod that shows it, I'm going to look into that, it might make Part 2 easier.
3:04 actually, Valor seems to be bugged currently, and it seems to be currently impossible to gain valor xp besides caracther creation. Altough you do lose 30 valor if you sacrifice troops to escape a battle (which cannot be earned back)
4:59 thats false. You do not gain any calculating xp for freeing lords after battle. There are 3 ways of getting it as far as Im aware of: recruiting a lord to your faction (+20), doing the snare the wealthy quest (+50 if you raid it and divide the loot, +100 if you take it all for yourself) and the buy stolen good quest (+150 if you buy the goods, then give them to the merchant)
Are you saying the code is wrong? It says you get 20xp toward Calculating for freeing a lord. I was looking at the code, were you looking at a website? I think the code is more of an authority.
@hero_on_youtube I downloaded a mod that tells you trait xp changes in the chat. And the numbers match up with when I get the different milestones (like, despite me freeing dozens of lords, no change there, and when I get to 1000 I still get calculating +1 like normal, so it's clearly not just the mod not showing it). So basicly, even if it's meant to be coded like that, it doesn't work like that in testings. I also release every lord I fight in every playtrough so I have extensive testing
@@alex2005z so what causes XP lose? If you should gain maybe you also lose. I every playthrow gain Honor Calculating Generous (I mostly donate lord to friends clan prison) sometimes mercy trait and never had Valor in any playthrow.
@@rockybalboa5611 honor is the easiest trait to get, like half the quests will give you honor. You gain generosity by keeping your party at a high morale, so given enough time you will get it. Calculating can be gotten in the ways I said before. For mercy, the best quest is army of poachers, assuming you pass the persuasion check. And valor seems to be buged and impossible to get. I actually downloaded a mod to see trait xp changes and have an excel spreadsheet with what I found so far. Since a lot of the stuff on the wiki was wrong or incomplete
It’s rare to find high quality new information about Bannerlord like this. Yes, please!
For anyone interested, in the steam workshop there is a mod called "show trait exp" which allows you to see any changes to your trait exp
I like your demeanor and explanation even though I’m a vet with more than 1000 days played. 👍🏻 good video.

I can’t wait for part 2. I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time now.
Finally a guide on this
appreciate you, hero.
Hero! A recent subscriber but a satisfied one! Great job as always!

You created the spreadsheet from testing? Or a code dive? It would be interesting to see and possibly helpful. Reach out to me on Discord.
@@hero_on_youtube from testing
@hero_on_youtube the spreadsheet has been sent to the lobby channel in the discord server in your video description
thanks for the info. LF for the part 2 and 3

I discussed that in a previous video, check my channel.

Wow, even with some uber cheese tactics that seems impossible to achieve.
FINALLY
Is there a console command to display current XP values for character traits?

What do traits actually do
It should affect pursuation in discussion. But I believe developer not fully utilised it so I believe it's not finished.
They help significantly with persuasion checks
