PawPaws on the edge where the water drains. If you have the soil for it. A few midwest universities have been developing methods of restoring them. They have been on this continent since humans were all using stone tools.
Landed on this vid after watching your video about SVB resistant squashes. I'm SO glad you live in the same state and deal with the same pest pressure/heat/humidity! I have a large garden and have been struggling for years with SVB! I loathe them AND Japanese beetles. Thank you for keeping me up to date with new varieties that grow well here in NC!
I’m excited to see what you do with the sloped corner! A bit late to the party, but a couple ideas would be pitcher plants (don’t know if these exactly fit site conditions) and I wanted to point you to Mellow Marsh Farm, located in NC, which specializes in natives for wetter areas
Aw my heart dropped when your squash came off the vine... ah well, the life of a gardener!! This is a wonderful video, even if I'm watching it months later!!!
Just found your channel and I am enjoying all the videos - learning a lot as well. I did not think there was someone out there who gardens like I do (chaos gardening) and I’m so happy to have found your channel. My first year I stressed so much and my husband thought I was crazy. He kept telling me “plants want to grow” and to just “throw the seeds in the ground” and I kept arguing with him, spewing all the ‘rules’ I learned from garden TH-cam until I finally came to a couple of conclusions - one, I could not garden the way everyone else does because I was not a rule follower and it caused me more stress than pleasure. And two, he was right and now My entire yard/ garden is beautiful chaos. I do not follow any rules and I love it! I love finding surprises at every turn. And I love growing sweet potatoes at the base of my arches because the vines cover it so quickly and usually stay all season - most times, longer. So I really resonate with your magical squash trellis. Thank you for all the information and time you take making the videos. While I may not follow all the rules, I still like to learn and take in the information 😊
Ur short harvesting video cme across.... I'm so Happy to watch ur video and it's made my day... . Keep up the good work Girl..... God Bless u as always 🥰🥰🥰
I really enjoyed this garden tour video. You have such a calm voice/personality, and your garden is very peaceful. Great shot from the fire pit view. Ginger and peanuts are things that I can't image growing in Minnesota, zone 4. Found you from Epic Gardening. Thumbs Up!
Yay new video just finished binging your videos this weekend 😂 I recently found out you have TH-cam too which is my preferred way to get garden content
Hi - great video and love your garden! I’m a new subscriber and found you on Epic Gardening channel. I moved to Raleigh, NC in July 2021 from the Bay Area. I had a massive garden there and tried recreating here in a smaller garden but I found it difficult to grow anything as it gets so hot! Your channel is inspiring me to keep trying! For your dead zone, why not put the chicken coop there so they are shaded and stay cooler? Otherwise a pond if that area gets super flooded. Can’t wait for more content!!
We moved to NW GA in 2021 from NorCal after my husband retired from the Benicia Refinery. Nice to “see” another Bay Area person. We are about 10mi from the TN border and 10 from the AL border. Loving it here!
Your garden is amazing and so inspirational I started my garden in Ireland this year and its great seeing all of your plants thriving! For powdery mildew i put white vinegar dilluted with water in a spray bottle and spray the affected leaves and it really helps kill the mildew 😊
Aw that’s amazing! Weirdly enough I had my very first patio garden in Ireland when I lived there for a year 🫶🏼 I miss Ireland so much. Thank you for the mildew tip!
Meg what is the size of your yard? I am inspired to really look at my yard - I am slowly growing my bed count. I do love the fire pit area and it has got me rethinking my new bed setup. Love your content.
I am a little late to this video but just wanted to say your garden looks great. I am in North Carolina too, I planted cucumbers but only got about 4 of them before the heat really set in. Loved the grapes they are looking delicious.! congrats on your beautiful garden.
I’ve been looking forward to your tour! I’m in WNC and just started gardening last year. You’ve given me some great ideas on expanding. I’ve also tried to grow some of your faves this year and have been enjoying them! I’m excited for your chickens! We’ve had them for 2 years and it’s a great time!
@@meggrowsplants mad hatter peppers, ground cherries, and the sweet corn! Some are doing better than others, but the weather has been so odd this year, we’ve had some weird growing moments. Have you researched what type of chickens you are getting? How many? I’m excited for you!
I love your garden and the content we provide 🤗. How do you keep the walking pants without weeds? Last year I put cardboard and wood chips down and this year I’m getting so much weeds .
That is a really good idea!! I would just worry about it flooding/overflowing with how the water runs through there. But I should do some research and see if maybe there’s a way to do that!
Hi, really interesting video, & well presented. Can l please add though, that background music nearly drove me mental, 😆 the same sound over & over plus too loud.
Beautiful garden, congrats you definitely deserve it thank you for sharing it, congrats again on the Epic Garden That is huge hopefully it takes you to next levels, i prefer you than the other girl 😅
@meggrowsplants yeah but 1st impression are very important, and your impression was better on me and on the Audience, keep up the awsome work, and I'll watch you grow, by the way I'm growing 69 different dragon-fruit, and it all started 1 year ago, I'm also gardening I'm my 3 Bierdies Beds and a bunch of grow bags, I guess Kevin really messed me up 😅
Just watching this in Jan 2024.... but that wrap dress is gorgeous!!
Ahhh thank you thank you!!
You are a garden ICON, Meg! I'm obsessed with your content-- you are constantly inspiring me to try new things in my garden!
Thank you so much!!! ❤️ that makes me so happy 🫶🏼

Meg your garden is enviable! I love how much you've put into your space, and it really shows how much work you've put in!
Thank you so so much! It has been a lot of work but it’s work that I absolutely love. Keeps me calm, keeps me sane!

You should totally dig a fish pond back in that corner and plant a bunch of ferns

Aw thank you so much for the kind comment!! Appreciate you 🫶🏼
You can plant mushroom spores or you could also plant watercress in your dead zone area.
Oh that’s a good idea! Will definitely check out the mushroom spore idea

Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching ❤ more TH-cam content is coming!
It may be the sun exposure on the other grapes. If they don’t get the same light it can bother the shadier side.

I'm putting in a cattle panel arch this year. How far apart did you put it at the bottom? So excited to watch your garden grow this year too!

Thank you so much!! And hi neighbor!b
Grow mushrooms in the shaded moist area of your back yard
I think I definitely want to try that! Maybe get some logs and try growing them on logs!
Where do you live in North Carolina? I watch Megan and Andy ,true grit and tipper pressly, celebrate Appalachia. Love your channel.
We're trying trombanchino squash this year too. We love the young squash and can't wait to try the mature fruit.
You will love the mature fruit! It very much resembles butternut. Maybe just not as sweet as butternut but still delicious in soup, etc
Amazing! So beautiful and I love your videos - so informative and relaxing!😊
Thank you so so much! Appreciate you 🫶🏼

how about a pond or wildlife area in your moist, shady zone?
That is a really good idea!! I would just worry about it flooding/overflowing with how the water runs through there. But I should do some research and see if maybe there’s a way to do that!
Plant a blueberry or raspberry in the dead corner
Hello, great you have a u tube channel aswell as your insta. Why not put a wildlife pond in your wet area under the trees.
Hi, really interesting video, & well presented. Can l please add though, that background music nearly drove me mental, 😆 the same sound over & over plus too loud.
Thank you!! This was one of my earlier videos, I’ve gotten better about editing the sound now (; thanks for your input!
