Worked perfectly!!! I was on the point of throwing the board away 3S 40A BMS from ALI. It seems to be a safety function for deep discharge, I'm right? Shouldn't it actually reset itself when enough voltage is available again? Can you explain what exactly happens when you connect 0V and battery minus?
I had the exact same BMS from Aliexpress. The BMS worked fine until I shorted the output terminals out of curiosity to confirm the protection mechanism actually works. Later, the BMS drops 2V at any amperage. The temperature of these big semi-conductors reaches over 135 Celsius! I threw the BMS away before I try this unfortunately. Do you think if I try this method, it would perhaps make it functional again? I ordered another BMS, I don't want to deal with failing BMS again.
Excellent just what I was looking for and worked like magic. Just unsure of what could cause this in the first place. Mine was at 7v and then when I used your hack it jumped back to 12v

Hello, I have a 6s bms. All cells are charged with 3.9v. The pack outputs 23.3v, but the bms outputs 4v. When I do what you showed on the video I get 23.3v output on the bms, but after some time if there is no load it again goes to 4v. Do you have any idea what can be causing this problem?
If you have spare bms, please replace it already. That is faulty already if after resetting(tapping b- to output-) didn’t fix the problem. Maybe try covering the new bms with tape and let only the pads for each cells exposed when resoldering and always check the output of the bms every after cell(1-6) is soldered.

None, it's actually a safety feature of BMS to cut the output voltage off. You need to check your cells after doing so, to identify what triggered it and fix it.
