Hi Mark! Thanks a million for the videos. I see that you've switched to the Wyze cameras in your new rig. I don't have full time 120v AC so the Wyse outdoor base station posses a problem for me. Also my rig is 100% aluminum (LivinLite) so Wifi doesn't get through the skin very well. I'm planning to put a battery powered Wifi router in the plastic roof vent so the camera Wifi can reach it from the outside and my phone can connect to it from the inside. There's no internet connection unless we're at an RV park. Would you still recommend the Hiseeu system? I realize I'm not going to be able to monitor remotely or save video to cloud storage. I'd simply like to be able to see what's going on outside without opening the door or a window. We love boondocking, but last fall we had some guys in a pickup drive by several times around 1:00 am and there wasn't a safe way to keep an eye on what was going on outside. Because of the way our rig is set up, we're completely blind in the front and back. Thank you and best regards!
Hey David! I would think that what you are imagining will work, but Hiseeu has changed their cameras substantially since we did this review several years ago, and we have not used the newer versions ourselves. So I can't state so with absolute certainty. The good thing is, purchasing from a place like Amazon gives you hassle-free returns if it does not work out.

Thank you Len! A couple of things. For one, they've changed this camera somewhat since we did this video years ago. In addition, I would stick to a dedicated rear view RV camera myself, rather than use this as one. Our Haloview camera does record to a micro SD card.

Don, as you've noticed Hiseeu "upgraded" the camera, and it's no longer precisely the same. This summer we opted to try the new Wyze Outdoor Cam v2 and we've been putting it through its paces, noting our experiences with it for an upcoming video this winter. So far, though, they've been exceptional.
Hi, does the cam only work when Visible has good cell data signal? When the cam alerts you, would it be loud enough to wake u up in the middle of the night?
Definitely loud enough to wake most folks, Whan. I'd have to go back and check, but I believe that the cam would work even without cell signal if connected to a LAN via a router. We use a small USB-powered travel router in our RV.
To be honest Steven, it's been so long that we don't really remember. But I'm pretty sure that you need a network, even if that network isn't online. We're still using this today for our outdoor camera.
Almost pulled the trigger on this and then thought "wait, I should get this via the Grand Adventure Amazon store as a way of saying "thanks" for the awesome review!" Which is what I did, and I'm looking forward to its delivery.
Thank you so much, Gary! We pour Grand Adventure's revenues back into the channel for video equipment, travel expenses, etc. And presently, our Amazon Store does the majority of the heavy lifting, so we sincerely appreciate it!
Really worthwhile info. Your excursions beyond "just camping" towards worthy things to look at are great...much appreciated. We're from Oregon and have a lot of bucket list things in Utah. Hope we can cross paths sometime. Thanks for your efforts.
Looks like a great little set up. I’m so glad you moved off the beach part. I guess you heard about the RV’ers that were found buried by their RV on that beach just recently. If not just google it. Nothing about that spot so close to the un-guarded border there looked safe. When you first showed how close , it just seemed like a bad idea. So now a nice couple doing exactly what your all were doing , lost their life. Be safe, looks like a place not to be.
Yes, we're much too familiar with that case, for while we were in the campground at Padre Balli Park prior to moving to the beach at Padre Island National Seashore, that couple was camped right across from us, no more than 50' away. Their rig appears in the background numerous times in our video, and we've been in touch with investigators since we first heard about the incident about a week ago. But just to clarify, that was on Padre Island, not South Padre (the previous episode where we opted to not boondock on the beach). They're two different places -- that spot on Padre Island was more than 3 hours away from the border and we never felt unsafe on Padre Island, which just goes to show that you never, ever know.

Can you tell me if there is an option to have an alert sent to your phone when the camera is triggered? Edit to add another question about the longevity of the camera - how has it handled the weather over time?

I like the basis of it however, you might just get a picture of someone stealing your camera. I would be afraid it is too easy to steal it. Can you mount it inside and point it out a window?
Sure you could. We actually use a different camera solution inside the rig using our Visible phone. You'd not only get a picture of the thief, but you'd also get an audible alarm as the thief approaches the camera. For us, the big thing here is an alert if some ne'er-do-well approaches the RV.
As far as we know Visible's service is limited to devices on their compatibility list, and the last we checked that was limited to phones, no jetpacks listed.
@@kathryntokarska6062 oh my God, so sorry! I get slammed with comments on the Visible video still, and thought that's what your comment was on. Apologies! Yes, it will work with your Verizon jetpack or any other WiFi signal.
In light of recent news reports about an RV'ing couple being murdered and their RV stolen on Padre Island in late October, no wonder you took extra precautions. Stay safe!
@@GrandAdventure Grim! As an unrelated side note, DJI is coming out with the Mavic Mini that is simple to fly, takes great video, and at a price point that makes it competitive with the top of the line GoPros. Also its small and weighs just a shade under 250 grams. Its essentially a "starter" drone for those who haven't taken the plunge...like me.
@@DrJohn493 true, we saw the product announcement. Decent range and the 30-minute flight time is impressive. Realize that the light weight and small props will make it susceptible to lighter breezes than its larger and heavier counterparts.
Yes Ashley, we do, although now that we have full-time Internet in the RV we're in the process of transitioning to the Wyze Outdoor Cam v2. We're going to do an episode on those cameras later this season once we have more experience using them. Additionally, the cameras featured in this video are no longer sold in this precise form factor.
Cameras even in driving in town and people tricking you and stealing from you is important, as I heard in another full time couple issues, sounds like sound security, and they had issues with there camera so knowing the best system seems important. Also police officers setting road traps, this could be great for litigation issues as well, sound advise.
Marc & Patricia so glad your alive when I saw the couple that was murder and buried on the S Padre Beach and stole their extensive RV like yours and Truck. They had everyday contact with friends and family and they called in the Police immediately when they weren't responding. Please have a back up system that would alert the Police should something happen to you. Sweet RV couple traveling and hanging out innocent people. Please check the new updates on this heanous crime.
Thanks so much for your concern Sylvia! In an odd twist of fate, in th-cam.com/video/SqY-UIfQnRQ/w-d-xo.html while we were in Padre Balli Park Campground the victims' trailer was right across from us no more than 50' away, and when we moved to the beach on Padre Island National Seashore we were camped only a few hundred yards from the person who's now the wanted suspect, and actually had brief contact with him. This one hit a bit too close to home.
Marc, Great review and explanation. Do you know if a satellite phone signal in your RV is fast enough to view the live feed and capture the saved feed to your cell?... for when you're rig is boondocked away from a cell carrier signal... but you are in range with your cell phone miles away? Gord
Having never used a sat phone, Gord, I can't say. But does a sat phone offer data as well as voice? I was of the (perhaps mistaken) understanding that you needed something like HughesNet to have sat data.
@@GrandAdventure You may be right Marc. That involves a huge and expensive foldable power dish installation on your RV roof. But the data speed is only like 3G. Do you know if that is enough to carry the video feed? Gord
@@GrandAdventure Thanks Marc. I'll check out HugesNet and compare it with RVDataSat. If you have an expensive rig and like boondocking, this may be what needs to be done to safeguard your stuff. If money is not an issue... Gord
@@michaelo9039 it's no more difficult than configuring a home router. If you can configure a home router, you can configure a travel router. It's really not that difficult.
@@GrandAdventure Thanks but you still need access to a wifi provider and where I stay sometimes I won't have that which is why I am on the hunt for a good wireless battery powered bluetooth camera. Seems like there would be a good need for that.

Of course they could. However, you'll not only have photos of the thief, but for us the big point for us is that you'll get an alert anytime someone (including a potential camera thief) approaches the RV.
I see one negative to this camera's mount. But it depends on how smart the Perp is. Should they notice the camera, it's super easy to... steal. Unless you have the image being saved in real time remotely, you'll have no record of the event. But like I said, they would have to be fairly observant thief's. The best security camera is the one you don't see in plain light. Placing a small sign on the door, "Video Surveillance, 24x7" (with a camera icon, for those that can't read english), can go a long way changing there minds. Stay safe,
Yes, it would be easy to take if the camera was actually noticed. But the camera will send a bunch of photos of the perp to your phone as he's taking the camera. We see the biggest value in alerting you that someone is milling about outside your RV, and letting you see who that is.
I do not if you have seen on the news, but the Butler's truck and trailer were caught on surveillance video entering Mexico on Oct. 21. Killers made a quick getaway 3 hr drive back across the border. Sad sad state of affairs.
We did know that. It wasn't that quick a getaway, though, for the Butlers were last heard from on the 16th, and missed a contact with relatives on the 17th. That means that whoever drove their truck and trailer across the border on the 21st didn't do so for 5 days. The Kleberg County Sheriff's Office is holding a press conference at 11am CST tomorrow morning. I'm hopeful that they'll release the surveillance photos from the border, for when the Butlers were missing the family indicated that the surveillance photos showed one person visible in the vehicle as it crossed the border, and they were able to confirm at that time that the driver wasn't James Butler.
@@GrandAdventure Thanks for answering. We have reservations at Mustang Island State Park starting tomorrow. We had planned to visit Padre Island National Seashore but will not be going there since this has happened.
@@JJs-ClassC-Adventures I can certainly understand why you would feel that way. I just received the camera you mentioned on the video but it did NOT come with the SD card...I ordered one to come tomorrow...just a FYI to anybody getting it from Amazon, be prepared to order the SD card seperately.
I just checked the link, and confirmed that they do still include the 32 gig card, so if you did not receive it I would follow up with the seller. However, understand that it is pre-installed. Did you actually look in the card slot to see if it is already there? They actually put it in the slot of the camera.
Grand Adventure but the instructions with my unit also confirmed that I must purchase it separately so it wasn’t a mistake and was not included so there’s that.
@@tedwilliams1000 the instructions on our camera said the same thing. It's the seller that adds the card. Again, if you used that link and you haven't checked the slot it's probably sitting in there pre-installed. If not, I would contact the seller for the card.

Speaking of security, have you heard about the couple from New Hampshire that were camping on Padre Island. They were murdered and found buried in the sand. Their truck and RV were stolen, and they have not found the truck or RV yet. Tell folk DO NOT camp alone anywhere near the Mexican border.
J J, we not only heard, but while we were in the Padre Balli Park campground in our PINS episode #122 we were no more than 50' from their trailer, which appears in the background in a number of our shots. They were camped about two miles from our campsite on the beach when they went missing although we had left there for Rockport, TX two days earlier, where this camera video was filmed. This hit a bit too close to home for us. However, realize that this was nowhere near the border; it's about a 3 hour drive from the nearest border crossing. A sad tale for sure, and our hearts go out to the family.
We squeezed one in there because we were so happy with this camera. However, tonight's new episode returns to RV travel for at least the next few episodes.

I have a Verizon jetpack. Do I need anything else for this to work?
As far as we know Visible's service is limited to devices on their compatibility list, and the last we checked that was limited to phones, no jetpacks listed.
@@GrandAdventure you are saying this camera system only works on visible phone service?
@@kathryntokarska6062 oh my God, so sorry! I get slammed with comments on the Visible video still, and thought that's what your comment was on. Apologies! Yes, it will work with your Verizon jetpack or any other WiFi signal.
In light of recent news reports about an RV'ing couple being murdered and their RV stolen on Padre Island in late October, no wonder you took extra precautions. Stay safe!
The strange thing is this video was being recorded at the same time that events are taking place on Padre Island, not afterwards.
@@GrandAdventure Understood and don't think it'll be an issue for me. Learned that a long time ago in the "real" ones.
Do you still use this product?
Yes Ashley, we do, although now that we have full-time Internet in the RV we're in the process of transitioning to the Wyze Outdoor Cam v2. We're going to do an episode on those cameras later this season once we have more experience using them. Additionally, the cameras featured in this video are no longer sold in this precise form factor.
Good info. But only good down to 24 F.
Time to go skiing.
We agree! Just a few weeks now.
Good video
Thank you as always, William!
Good stuff, good info! Thanks!
You're most welcome, Thom. Thank you!
Cameras even in driving in town and people tricking you and stealing from you is important, as I heard in another full time couple issues, sounds like sound security, and they had issues with there camera so knowing the best system seems important. Also police officers setting road traps, this could be great for litigation issues as well, sound advise.
You have an Amazon store? WooHoo!
Marc & Patricia so glad your alive when I saw the couple that was murder and buried on the S Padre Beach and stole their extensive RV like yours and Truck. They had everyday contact with friends and family and they called in the Police immediately when they weren't responding. Please have a back up system that would alert the
Police should something happen to you.
This channel is great information resource, great job.
Thank you Daniel!
Awesome camera. I wish there was a solar powered camera option
There is actually a solar option available for this camera.
What is the difference between the A10 & C10 cameras
Beats the daylights out of us, Rich.
I think the only difference is the way it mounts to the RV
Super helpful
Happy to be of service, Thomas!
Gord
@@GrandAdventure Marc, my prior research revealed the following:
www.rvdatasat.com/rv-satellite-internet.html
Gord
@@gorrdd from what I've been led to understand regarding HughesNet speeds, I'd imagine it's sufficient.
@@GrandAdventure Thanks Marc. I'll check out HugesNet and compare it with RVDataSat. If you have an expensive rig and like boondocking, this may be what needs to be done to safeguard your stuff. If money is not an issue...
Gord
The link you gave is not the same camera wrong mount and no SD card
That's their "upgraded" camera; we had to replace the link when the previous generation became unavailable.
Great stuff, finally got to catch up! Have a great Halloween!
You do the same! And we're always thrilled to have you here, no matter when.
Love this but wish it was bluetooth capable since I don't always have wifi when boondocking.
That's why we have our own USB powered nano router that we use in the trailer, it creates our own network amongst devices within the RV.
@@GrandAdventure Very cool but beyond my skill set, lol.
@@michaelo9039 go to our channel homepage, and check out our episode entitled cheap truly unlimited internet for your RV. It's number one in our list of most popular episodes. It's a $25 per month solution with no cap and no throttling. Truly all you can eat.
Hi, what happens if someone steals the camera ?
My area is not a complete trust area so I doubt there are any at all!
Realize, though, that this didn''t happen within PINS -- it happened on Kleberg County beach between the Bob Hall Pier and PINS. While camping within PINS we saw a fairly regular National Park Service Ranger presence on North Beach.
@@GrandAdventure Mark...you are right...had to dig for it...I ordered a 128 for it anyway but fired it up and it's a really neat camera. Thanks for the product review!!
Should update link
We did, Don, as previously explained. The original version of this camera reviewed in this video no longer exists.
@@GrandAdventure then do a new video of the new item so we know what we are getting
@@rFifthWheeling if/when we have a reason to buy a new camera, we'll consider it.
Hi Santa Rosa the land of fire
Be safe out there Clark!
Aren’t you concerned someone will just grab the camera & go?
Of course they could do that, Olivia. However, you'll not only have photos of the thief, but for us the big point for us is that you'll get an alert anytime someone (including a potential camera thief) approaches the RV.
That is horrible. We will all have to be more aware of our surroundings, but some events just catch us by surprise.
What's going on? Are all RVer channels just doing product reviews or some other form of commercials?
We squeezed one in there because we were so happy with this camera. However, tonight's new episode returns to RV travel for at least the next few episodes.
All they have to do is cut you Internet cord 🤦♂️🤷🏼♂️
Nope, because if our Starlink goes down (the only thing we have with a cable) our SIM cards from AT&T and Visible immediately take over.
