⚠Update⚠ This is an older version of my "graphics overhaul guide". There's a newer and better video on my channel, that is higher in quality and more comprehensive because it features every episode of this guide in one video. You can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/W-Ma_xUAboY/w-d-xo.html Because beefing up your graphics leads to loss in performance, I also highly recommend to watch my performance and stability guide here: th-cam.com/video/C5rAgRowKbI/w-d-xo.html
Yes that's definetly true. Especially effects like DOF or blur are harder to render. The Decent ENB is a great uprade to the image without beeing too heavy on your system, besides that you can always disable some effects you don't like, so give it a try if you can!
only just found your guide. tysm! was v helpful. unfortunately i don't know why but Decent ENB was weird on my game. maybe because i have a potato. it was blurred on the top and bottom but would focus if i looked directly at it...extremely unsettling lol...shame because it was lovely.
Basically the better the Enb looks (or the more it changes the overall look of the game) the more performance it will take. Especially heavy visual effects, like volumetric lighting, fog, reflections etc., are more intense to render. For the enb I’m using you could expect loosing about 30% of your FPS.
@@thatMPSG This is my third attempt to respond to you, this time without a hyperlink. So! I'm looking to be using a ENB named Vivid ENB by CoolWave101z. Without installing and testing the thing, would you say that this particular ENB preset uses heavy visual effects? What reduction in performance would you expect?
@@dapperultron1784 The simplest way to find out is just to try it. You can't do anything wrong with installing and uninstalling an ENB preset. Just create a folder with all important ENB related files and drag them into your Data folder, so when you're re/uninstalling ENB and a specific preset, you just have to copy it. There's a simple tool called "Enb and ReShade remover" you just have to copy into the Data folder and run, then it removes everything related to ENB and ReShade. After that just copy your ENB files you saved in your newly created folder back into Data. Takes a few seconds to do, I do it all the time!
I already am using REACTOR and the game looks better than Cyberpunk 2077 you know how it is, but I´ve never used a reshade along with any ENB, what adds Reshade that ENB don´t and how about performance impact?
Reshade adds many different visual processing effects, filters and more. A lot of them are not included in ENBs and are easier to manage in Reshade. It's not necessary but very nice to have, especially for games that don't have specific visual overhaul mods available, so you can tweak alot with it. It's an easy (un)install so best you try for yourself, but the performance impact is rather small for most effects.
You’re welcome Luke! I recommend you to also watch my complete visual overhaul guide video (13 minutes) that contains every episode of visual improving mods.
I am in the minority but I hate ENBs and reshades. They always seem to kill my FPS, I drop at least 20 on every one. More power to those who love them but they ruin it all for me. And my laptop is no slouch (Asus Rog Strix G713QM)
Understandable when it kills perfromance but it looks so much better with it :/ I have a video about improving performance on my channel, maybe that can help you!

Thanks for all explanation. Must to say too: ENB and Reshade require a good machine to get to work well. It decrease some FPS.

It’s because you have to change or disable the depth of field settings in the enb overlay. Also check out my complete visual overhaul guide for more!
Thanks for helping me man!
You’re welcome! Check out my other guides also to learn a lot about useful Fallout 4 mods.
What is your reshade preset
Браво пич, добре се справяш, малко ми е трудно с тоя английски де. Greets from Bulgaria.
Thank you very much and welcome to my channel!
Is it possible that other online games could detect re-shade using a third-party software even if I’m not using re-shade on that particular game?
No, reshade only installs files into the directory of the specific game you choose to.
@@thatMPSG thanks!
I'm exactly following your tutorial. But why on the third person, the character and the environment near the character becoming extremely blur?
It's because of the Depth of Field setting. If you don't like it, change the distance or turn it off in the ENB GUI.
Which version of reshade should i download??the latest one or 3.4.2?
Always use the latest stable version
I checked your mod list, but still didn't find the suit from the thumbnail, what mod is this?..
It's "CROSS_Courser Strigidae"
Is there a way to tell just what the amount of FPS will be lost based on how an ENB looks from screenshots and the like?

Yes, in my showcase I'm using both at the same time.
