In England a guy has a X mid pro 2, and camped the night out testing the tent. 40-60 mph winds hit, the tent was fine, but the magnetic doors were coming apart with the wind gusts.
Great review!! I've been patiently awaiting someone to post a better view of the interior space. Trying to decide if my 60lb Labrador Retriever and I can fit inside (preferably with my 24 inch REI Helix pad). Looks like I'll be ordering one in the second batch. Thank you, for posting (and Merry Christmas, self).
Thank you! I’m pretty sure your pup would fit nicely. There’s lots of space in the vestibule for your backpack, in case in doesn’t fit in the tent. When Dan Durston posted the announcement of the tent, he put 2 sleep pads in, side by side, which fit. I still can’t believe how spacious it is for a 1 person tent!
Thank you. I’m putting my trust in this tent since I’ve seen interviews with Dan Durston and all the thought he puts into his tents. I feel very confident in it, not that I’m a very experienced backpacker.
I'm 6'5" tall, just got mine in yesterday. No problem laying on the diagonal with room at my side. Plenty of head room when I sit up. Super easy to set it up.
I’m very happy with the results I’ve seen so far (videos) in regard to wind & snow. From what I’ve seen, Dan puts several years of thought into his tents and I’m not the least bit worried. Hopefully I’ll never have to do a video on a damaged tent due to wind/snow 👍🏻
Glad you are liking the tent. Thanks for putting this together.

Thank you! I’m so excited to have this tent! GREAT job on it!
What a great video! I considered waiting for the 2 person but this seems big enough to fit myself and my chocolate lab :)
Thank you! I hope it works out! I love this tent!

@@SparkyOne549 Yikes! I think if I was in those kind of winds, I would have everything zipped up, but it sounds like he was testing everything.
and so it begins
Someone had to be the first one!😂
Thanks for the review 👍. Hopefully my tent is not so far away.
All the best on the PCT
Thank you very much!

Very exciting. Enjoy the hike.
@@lakedistrict9450 Thank you!
Nice video. I will hold out for a DCF version.
Thank you! I start the PCT in April, so needed to order this right away. I’m very happy with it.
Thank you very much for the fast review!
@@karacho1 You’re welcome!
Tarptent RainBow models are better in winds. It’s the advantage of incorporating poles in the fabric instead of an exterior frame.😮

@@adamw.4482I’m guessing they will do their very best to keep it as low as possible.
6,4 not have the same space
I did see in Dan Durston’s video (and the website) that tall people could set up at a diagonal. I wonder if that would work for you?

This 1 is on my radar I wish they were coming out quite a bit sooner though
Just get a dyneema tarp. Lightweight, plenty of space. Fun to configure.
Don’t take it in high winds. It’s a steep walled tent ie huge Wingage and fragile ultralight carbon poles. It will fail
Eagerly awaiting your video showing your X dome failing in high winds. Always great to see folks put their money where their mouth is!
