- Hyacinth and Crocus Planting - Spring Flowering Bulbs - In this video I plant Hyacinth and Crocus bulbs. I use the drill and an auger bit for the Hyacinths. It makes quick work of planting medium sized bulbs.

The deeper you plant them the warmer they stay in the winter. If they need more chill hours; plant shallow and do not mulch.
I love the smell of Hyacinths they don't survive in my garden but I keep buying them lol. I am running out of space to plant things. :)
I'm bundled up & planting bulbs today too!
I have happy memories of the crocus and hyacinths coming up in my childhood home in early spring in NY. My mom used to always tell us, the crocus are up, its spring! There would often still be snow on the ground so I would say noooo.. its stil winter because I loved the snow.
I haven't tried to grow hyacynth yet, but I love Crocus. They're low maintenance and super easy to grow, and so pretty. I like mixing them in with snow drops and phlox.
Looking forward to Spring 😀
Can’t wait to see the bulb show in spring!!!
Found your vlogs a month ago. I live in 7b also, Lexington NC. You’ve been so helpful in showing me what I’ve been doing wrong and right. Thanks!
I have blue grape hyacinths and purple crocuses alongside each other too!
Congrats will be a stunning spot
Happy Planting! I am in zone 7, Robbinsville, NJ and the local
Your hat looks great with your goatee.
I mark where I plant my bulbs by laying stakes or sticks prostrate around the perimeter of the planting until they sprout.
My crocuses started sprouting at the end of November, that has never happened before. They are still up, but haven't bloomed of course. I will be interested to see what happens this spring. I am also 7B.
Great video! Where did you buy the Garden augar drill bit ?
Would coco bean husks be about the same as pine bark soil conditioner to add to peat for potting trees and shrubs?? Can not find fine pine bark anywhere here in Wisconsin
What is your soil composition? I have heavy clay soil where mine are planted so I amended heavily with organic matter. I try to stay organic but I do use the Breck's Bulb Fuel too. First time growing either and they did well.
Do you keep them in the ground or dig them up after they are done blooming and replant in the fall?
👋😄
Weird! The Hyacinth bulbs I got from Holland Farms are about the size of the Crocus bulbs you showed! Not as big as yours. We'll see what happens! haha!
