Hey, TroutWest ! Niiice catches... not to get out of the subject, but is the weather good for sabrina basin in June, will the fishing be good or would it be hot ?..still learning
@@Edwardcruzz13 Weather isn't really a problem for Sabrina, just don't want to show up right when the ice is breaking up because you can't really get out there. From May-closer you're usually good.
In the early 90s the water pipeline that feeds the power plant burst so LADWP closed PVR. My dad worked for DWP and was able to get us in. The two of us had the place to ourselves. Love that place. Big fish in there.
I've never been but I appreciate you taking a drive and bringing your camera to share with us. My mom fell and broke some important parts (she's 94) so I can't go anywhere. Thank you and please keep up the great work!
Great video! That’s a bummer with the gopro failing. That happened to me on my last trip when I was reeling in my big fish. The cold just really zaps the gopro batteries.
Yep, had to swap out and I picked up some GoPro 12s.... Those new enduro batteries my buddy Huck was using held up really well in the same weather. But you're right, at least on my Hero 8 the cold kills those batteries
Nice catches. Seems like y’all had an awesome trip. My personal favorite spots up there (where I’ve had the best luck) is Convict and Hot Creek. Upper Owens has been decent to me.
Nice, thanks for sharing. I have only been to PVR once before, but we came in through the other end. How long is the walk from the Power Plant side to the boat ramp?
You'd think. The reality is not many people are willing to drive 300 mi to fish in 10° weather while hiking 3 or 4 mi. There might be a few more locals out there though.
@@TroutWest well you'd be surprised. We lived in Bishop from 2005 to 2020 alot of "secret" spots aren't secret anymore. It was a huge change from 2005 to 2020 from TH-cam, Facebook, etc. It's all good though, I live in Montana now but still homesick for the beautiful Eastern Sierra. But you're correct that most people are lazy or don't want to put up with the cold
Post up in the comment section where your favorite Eastern Sierra fishing water is. 👈

Chilly day for you. It took a minute to find the fish but your persistence paid off. You caught some nice ones. Well done! Have a great day.
Was a great day out there with some bruiser Rainbows! Thanks for having me on this one! Burgers were pretty good too to end the day!
Incredible trip, weather didn't stop us from getting into some fish..what are we catchin'? We're catching nice sized trout!"
Those colors on those fish was amazing.
Cameras did them no justice, really nice fish
I got the heater on and had to put a jacket on to watch your video. Good video👍 Good seeing you grinding through the elements.
Haha, it was a cold one ... colder trip videos coming soon!

That must have been some good fishin' real tanks used to come from PVR back then
Excellent fishing adventure and in the Sierra, even better. Fishes looked nice and healthy. Thanks for sharing brother Andrew. Blessings🎣🤙🏽
It was a great trip! Super cold up there, but still worth it! Appreciate you stopping by the channel.
man, never a bad fishing day for you and Huck!
Haha, we fish pretty good out there

Sorry to hear about your mom... She lived a long life though. I'm glad you enjoy the videos. There's definitely more to come 👍🙏
Looks like a cold fun day!!
Yeah every morning up there it's been pretty cold.
@@TroutWest I bet.

I miss Bishop
The frist big one looked like a wild one.
Great video those were some nice trout.
Appreciate you watching!
Nice fish! A sweet payoff for toughing out those cold conditions!
Definitely a grind in winter, but those fish move around a lot so you just need to know the reservoir!
Cold day but big fish make it worth it.
I love fishin' the crazy weather..... sometimes the wind can be frustrating though.
I usually fish the streams up there. I always have to stop by rock creek
Can't go wrong stream fishin'

Good spots no doubt!

How long is the walk from the Power Plant side to the boat ramp?
About 1.25 miles
Great video. We were there December 29. Do you know if they allow float tubes
Yes, float tubes are allowed year-round
