I've come to the conclusion that people only continue to keep him afloat because they know he's so polarizing and they get off on videos such as this one. They make sure the fire burns so they can watch from the sidelines. Why that's worth so much to them is anyone's guess.

Instead of everyone stop donating, it's better that people donate a bare minimum so it gives him hope of streaming, but never give him enough to be secure in his finances. That way his life is hell as long as possible while he streams. Hope can be your biggest enemy

He's completely numb to the heartbreaking monologue at the end, of course.
Usually i dont bother much with Phil's babblings, but that one actually pissed me off. Like firstly, he's played this game, he knows how long this ending is, and secondly the constant 'wrap it up' isnt funny. Shows how little he cares about anything or anyone other then himself.

It's the DSP school of comedy. First and only lesson: repeat the joke/statement you just made a 2nd time for emphasis. Saying it louder and stretching out the individual syllables of each word is also a must. Remember, the key is emphasis. Your dimwitted viewers won't catch it the first time, so the 2nd louder slower time you say it is key.
I played silent hill 2 on hard after watching this. I had zero issues. It took me 2 attempts on the pyramid head chase at the hospital

Can someone explain why the HD collection is so bad? Without bringing up graphics and such? I'm really curious to know if there's anything that actively changes the gameplay and not what you see.
Great Mama Jagras well, graphics, especially lighting, is important in psychological horror games like silent hill.
Great Mama Jagras I just know that there were quite a few game-breaking bugs that appeared in the HD collection that weren't even in the original releases. I heard they lost most of the code for the two games and had to rebuild the games from scratch which was probably why there were so many mistakes included in this one (which led to this sorry excuse of a "HD collection)
I like how Phil's clearly playing this on Hard of his own free will--he could stop and start over on a lesser difficulty at any time--yet he continues to blame viewers for it like "you all asked for this, this is what you get," as if there was a gun to his head. The fuck outta here.
2:01:07 Nothing is as satisfying as seeing him frustrated in his attempt to cheese the game. Phil RARELY, if EVER, attempts to beat the game by improving/doing different things. It's do the same thing 50 times, get frustrated, attempt to cheese, fail 50 times, get frustrated, repeat, until something, mainly due to luck, works. He NEVER adapts.
I thought Phil learned his lesson from playing RE0 on Hard Mode? Looks like I was wrong.

RE0 isn't that hard even on hard difficulty. You just gotta learn to take out lesser enemies with the knife and save the big guns and ammo for tougher enemies.

It's almost like the hard difficulty discourages fighting enemies that eat up a lot of resources.
Some dead enemies can respawn on Hard difficulty. What's the point of fighting them unless you want 10 stars rating?

It’s one of the best stories in gaming history, and entirely too subtle for Phil to cover in any kind of way that does it justice.

I don't know what it is with Phil how he has to fucking kill EVERY enemy he sees in a game. He can't just run right past it. Silent Hill 2 is a masterpiece and only he could make it look this bad by playing it.

35:04 Phil has always seen backtracking in survival horrors as an inconvenience, because it forces you to deal with the enemies you spare everytime you go through the same areas... but instead of trying to understard how the game wants you to avoid those enemies while saving resources, he'll just kill everything as a way to outsmart the game... or so he thought.

I mean depends. At first it does seem hard but Silent hill 2 also showers you in Healing items and ammo. So it defenitly gets easier it seems.

I think Phil's handling of the Mystery Box in this is one of the stupidest things he's ever done in a game period. He went on this giant rant about how it's the game's fault for not labeling the questions even though it literally did and his shriveled brain just plum couldn't even process it at the time. I just genuinely cannot understand how someone could be so stupid. At 2:27:00 it's possible that Johnny is a reference to The Shining. In the original story (the novel), the Overlook Hotel explodes when the boiler isn't dumped. In the more recent film, it remains as an illusion I think, similar to in SH2. There's a parallel here between the Overlook and this hotel.
Further, it's known that the works of Stephen King partially inspired the Silent Hill franchise: even the setting (a small town in rural Maine) seems to match the common themes of his work.
The final boss fight made me want to blow my brains out. Can't believe he tried to cheat his way to the finish.
I love how he figures out how to strafe during his first fight, and then never fucking does it again; and then shits on his chat every time they bring up the sprint-strafe mechanic that allows you to dodge hits.

Yet another egregious moment for Phil. I've never played a SH game, but I know just how amazing 2 and 3 are for their music and story. It pisses me off that during what's meant to be the emotional payoff, hearing James's dead wife's final words to him, all he cares about is getting to the end and isn't even paying attention. I've never seen his original playthrough, but fuck Phil. This is the pure definition of someone that only plays a game for views and money. He didn't want to experience a timeless classic again with his fans and shoot for a new ending, he just wanted to act like a victim and hope he got money for it. "Oh you guys made me do this." "I didn't want to play on hard but you guys wanted something different." No Phil, YOU did it.

He could have easily switched to another difficulty and restarted since he wasn't that far into the game when he started complaining about the difficulty, but no, he continued to bitch about the difficulty and act toxic the whole time. I first played this game on action level hard and riddle level hard, back in 2001. It was pretty brutal but i loved every second of it.
