Hi Sam! Not sure if you’ll see this, but I’ve both been where you are and currently are where you are (if that makes sense!). Last year, I was bouncing around jobs feeling stuck and lost in the gap, watching peers go off and do amazing things. June 2024 I finally said enough was enough and applied to a master’s at 11:57pm on the deadline. It totally renewed my confidence and now I have a 4.0 and am studying for the MCAT, which is how I found your videos and subscribed a couple days ago!! Love your content!! As another older premed (26), have faith in yourself and the path you’ve carved for you. It truly does all work out, sometimes in the most unexpected of ways possible.

Aw thanks so much for commenting! Congrats on the master’s program- sounds like that was just what you needed to get some momentum going. And good luck studying for the MCAT! You’ve got this. I agree that I think it all will work out exactly as it’s meant to. Thanks for subscribing- I hope you stick around ❤️

510 is great, you did awesome! I got a bunch of MD acceptances this cycle with a 509, so you’ve got even more potential :) the score is one TINY piece to a much bigger picture that admissions looks at, just make sure you find a way to show them who you are!

@@joshwilson7008 Aw thank you! Congrats on your acceptances- so exciting. I’m looking forward to being able to showcase who I am beyond my stats in my personal statement & interviews. Thank you again for the comment. Good luck in med school! ❤️

Hi Sam, first thing I want to share I love watching your videos. I also want to let you know that you are not alone! The whole MCAT journey and application process is very daunting ( I am also applying this year and studying for a retake). These past two years I have felt that same stuck feeling as my plans change due to my MCAT score. Everything will come at its time, I know its hard to be positive when that bad feeling comes in, but it's something to think about. Can't wait for more videos!!

I’m right there alongside you, so hopefully my videos will help you feel like you’ve got someone else who knows just what you’re going through.❤️❤️

Hi, I can relate to what you're going through. I had this feeling of being stuck because I wasn't sure what I would like to do with my life but I'm proud of you for succeeding. Keep moving forward! I enjoyed this video.

Aw I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. It seems like a lot of us have gone through this feeling. It can be tough with social media & having access to so many people’s lives. It’s hard to stop ourselves from feeling like we’re behind, but I think these phases are natural and as long as we are working towards our goals, that’s what really matters. Good luck! I hope my videos can help you on your journey.❤️

Love your videos! I started watching when I was studying for my MCAT last year. I totally relate to feeling stuck but it gets better the more you work towards your goal. I am happy to report that I got in and am finally starting medical school after 3.5 gap years! I can’t wait to see you get in this year too!!

Hi Sam, I am usually just a watcher and liker, not too much of a commenter but hearing you talk about how you feel like you're "older" and feeling alone in your journey really resonated with me. I graduated from undergrad in 2019, started working in the hospital, signed up for the MCAT 4 times (scored once), applied for med school during the 2023-2024 cycle, and now I'm a ms1 at 27 yr old.
The whole process of studying for the MCAT and applying felt very lonely and sometimes I wondered what am I even doing and if was I even getting anywhere. But I promise it will all work out, just keep your eyes on the goal at the end and keep your family & friends close. The application cycle felt even worse than the mcat itself. I was submitting secondaries even in December.
Med school still does feel lonely because we are all on our own journey, but I think that just comes with adulthood. I think we all think too much about what others may think of us, when nobody probably cares at all. Just be true to ourselves, keep our head down, and do what we need to do. Initially, I also thought that I would be "so much older" than my classmates, but I'm actually just average. I'm far from the oldest student in my class. In fact, the majority of my class matriculated between 24-29 yr old. The idea of matriculating right after undergrad or with 1-2 gap years is no longer the case with how competitive medical school applications have become.
