I've never tried it, but I read that strips of vertical dark tape on a window will keep birds from flying into the glass.

We tried several options including UV reflective “clear” stickers specifically designed to be only visible by birds, but eventually we settled on these strings. The least expensive and in our opinion the most aesthetically pleasing option :) you can barely see the string from a
distance, but 100% prevents birds striking our windows.
