I guess the guy at 11:08 just tried to be friendly, not selling cigarettes. Offering a cigarette first is a normal way for Chinese to start chatting with unknown people. He understood you were from India at the beginning because he said "Indu=India in Chinese", but because you again said "India", he might have misunderstood as American Indian.

the level of cleanliness in all parts of China is just mindblowing - the markets, the platforms, railway station, hostels, etc. Puts India to shame!

The current price is 500 RMB per day, and daily cotton work is done by large machines. The Uyghur people in Xinjiang do not grow cotton, except for a few who are farmers. According to Chinese policies, Xinjiang Uyghur people have a large number of pastures and mountain cattle and sheep herds. Chinese Han people in China are eager to find a partner from a minority ethnic group, so that they can convert their children into a minority ethnic group: they receive extra points in the college entrance examination, are tax-free in business, give priority to joining the military, and receive government favoritism in their daily lives.
Almost all cotton are pick by machines. It's faster and cheaper.

Urumqi is a Mongolian word meaning 'Green Pasture'. This northern part of Xinjiang used to be Dzungaria. The original inhabitants were the Dzungar Mongols, but got wiped out by Manchus & Kalkha Mongols in 18th century. Dzungars eventually got displaced by Uyghurs.
Dzungars ruled Uyghurs. Dzungars encroached on Qing' territories, and be wiped out by Qing dynasty.

India is a democracy unlike China. The subcontinent is so diverse compared to China. Democracy always has unrest by one or the other parties.
Focus on peace but not with any neighbors or country.
Focus on corruption, poverty, and encroaching on neighbors' territories and gaining supremacy in South Asia. India is best at bragging, India is a superpower.
