I am legend is based on a book, and in the book it explains that Neville is being hunted by the dark walkers because they view him as a mad scientist who hunts and capture them to do medical experiments on. When you remember that wall of patients he keeps who all died from his research, it makes sense that the dark walkers misunderstand him as a predator rather than someone trying to help them.
The crazy thing is that they actually didn't exactly care immensley to begin with. Yes, he was the dangerous predator to them, but it's obvious they know where he lives regardless of day or night time. He and they have been there for years. Though they live in the shadows, they can still find ways to pin-point his location. They just choose to not do shit until he takes the "Boss"'s lover.
In director's cut Neville realize that he is the monster and reverse the woman's cure and and walkers let him go.
@@warre1 The director’s cut actually has them show up at the end to deliver the cure, only to find the town’s church has banned science and executed anyone who could have saved humanity. 😊

The creatures in I am legend arent zombies there more related to vampires one of the probloms with the movies is it isn't as accurate to the book because in the book the infected humans are way smarter to the point they they talk and have a civilization and the fear the main character because he goes around killing them

The extended edition had a happier ending for Neville. Hardest part in this movie was him being forced to kill his dog, the last connection to his family.

You should watch the alternate ending, much better in my opinion.
After it came out on DVD I bought it and right away watched the extra stuff. I seen the alternate ending and was like "Wow, this should have been the ending!". I mean the one in the movie is emotionaly, but the alternate was a good twist.

This is the third iteration of this movie. The first was The Last Man On Earth (1964) with Vincent Price, it is a good one to watch. The second was The Omega Man (1971) with Charlton Heston, good in it's own right. And I Am Legend (2007). And here we are at the tail end of a real worldwide pandemic. Good movie.

I think this is the 3rd adaptation of, 'I am Legend' and they still didn't get it right. The alternate ending is closer to the darker theme of the book where, in the end, the 'monsters' are the 'new humans' and the last human on earth is their, 'monster of legend', killing them during their sleep.
Vincent price was the first or second. I dont know anything about the other

Have been watching your videos for a week and have to say they are very enjoyable. Ellie and Michelle's tears are so sweet and I love Larry and Blue's laughter just as much. You've allowed me to enjoy many of my very favorite movies as if I was watching them for the first time. I have to say watching Ellie watch "The Green Mile" nearly broke my heart.
I have a few suggestions for you if you would be interested:
"Hereditary" (the scariest movie I have ever watched)
"Zero Dark Thirty" (sort of a war movie about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden)
"Crimson Tide" (a military movie that is very intense)
"Hacksaw Ridge" (a military movie, however it focuses on a medic)

this movie is brilliant as is like a reverse vampire movie; Will Smith is dracula, trying to do his own, while most people has to live in dark... that's why the infected people were so afraid and hate him, not because they were different but because the constant harassment.
They could do nothing, against the monster that keeps kidnaping and killing people on broad day light, for sake of his own experiments

The woman who rescues Neville is Alice Braga, I loved her shows which is Predators and Queen of the South.
The event in this movie took place on Christmas of 2021.

And this is the re-shot ending. The original had Will Smith realize they came here to get the girl he was running experiments on and gives her back. Sees how they still have some humanity in left and maybe they're just a new better race. Also how they look at all the photos of his "failed test subjects" who were their friends and comes to the conclusion that he has become a monster himself, coming for them in their sleep. This was much closer to the original novel and at least the first movie adaptation. But, of course, the test audience hated that cause it was too smart and didn't have enough things going boom, so they changed it.
The lost of Sam hit everybody really hard. #RIPSam

I want to reassure the girls, there are two endings to this film, the bad one you watched, and the alternative director's version where Neville survived. In general, the film was shot based on the book by Richard Matheson, although it has nothing to do with this work, except for the plot, the book is more filled meaning, and philosophy, I advise you to read ..

I saw this in theatre with my dad when I was 11 and I still remember it. What a movie
1.The part that gave me real respect for Will Smith is the scene where he's talking to the mannequin right after having to kill his best/only friend and says,

2. This film is mostly a remake of "The Omega Man" staring Charlton Heston.

Very true! But it throws me a bit when the channel puts out more than one reaction upload to THE SAME MOVIE, because there are different individual reactors watching in each.
Somehow, if a reaction channel has already covered a film, I don’t expect to find it duplicated again later. …I guess I sort of assume (mistakenly!) that everyone who is interested would have watched it on the first go-round, and/or that they would have waited until all those who want to watch a particular movie are available to do so at the same time- and therefore repeats would be redundant.
This is actually a re-re-re-release of the same story/book. Strongly suggest watching the first movie aka "The Last Man on Earth" from 1964 with Vincent Price. You can probably find a re-coloured version too. Vincent is so good in that. If anyone can play madly alone its Vincent. And remember back then "zombies" wasnt even invented. That makes it even more scary. Such a classic.
