I would say Klokov's a weightlifter even tho he said in an interview he doesn't stretch anymore. It's also about genetics how much u have to stretch to stay mobile.
@@AM-dp9tv From what he's said, very little actually as he built it when he was young and just maintenaned it. Probably best way to go as getting flexible as an adult is a whole different thing
@@jedimind5337 well yeah he does maintain it, but doesn't mean he has a long routine. Maybe now when he's retired from weightlifting, he needs more stretching
Isnt static stretching of the quads and glutes counter intuitive? Doesnt this cause the muscle to relax when they need to become activated? I can understand stretching the upper body and the back, but the lower body, I am a bit confused
I have seen very little foamrollers stretch. I am currently doing a course of the Spanish weightlifting federation. There are some crossfitters at the course that foamroll and some elite weightlifters that don't. The weightlifters give the crossfitters weird looks when they foamroll. Also most crossfitters are far from mobile compared to the weightlifters. I recently started stretching more and it does seem to work much better than foamrolling which I tried for like 20 minutes per day according to Kelly Starret's book Supple leopard. Try stretching more and less foamrolling and see what happens! ;)
alot of them get massages before or after training, theres a video of klokov getting massaged and worked on before he did his static stretching for his warmup
That's a very good point, a massage by a professional is so much more effective than foamrolling. I would like to add that also in most weightlifting clubs where most are amateurs I have not seen many people foamrolling and all had excellent mobility and flexibility, but of course many of them started with weightlifting in their teens and that would probably have improved their flexibility and mobility compared to a crossfitter that started as an adult and also does tons of other stuff that requires less flexibility.
are they editing out stuff or does he just hold the stretches for a 2 seconds each? is that how you´re supposed to stretch? what about holding for a minute or smth. what is the reason for him doing it this way?
can someone explain the ending ? like how is that a post workout session it looks more like a warm up .. one more things, I have a physiotherapist friends that is specialized in sports physiotherapy...and he said that after a workout u should not stretch because it just harms your muscle and that best thing that u can do is put ice on your body parts for like 5 min each.. and the best is to stretch before the workout
The argument against icing post workout, I think, is that it restricts blood flow to the area, thus slowing recovery. Although icing delays swelling, it may not hasten long-term recovery. The man who introduced the RICE mnemonic (Rest Ice Compression and Elevation) now says that rest and ice may delay healing instead of helping (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RICE_(medicine)). Motion is recommended instead of rest and ice.
Actually static stretching before workout is best for injuries.By stretching we stretch out the fascia of the muscle by contracting it again in a workout will eventually lead to an injury.Stretches are best and must after workout not before.Check it out there are plenty of researches
Dmitriy Makovkin but you need rest that's how you recover. Rest is one of the most important things when you workout. If you don't get enough rest you will ruin results
its not really bodybuilding bodybuilding but they also like all other sports have to muscles all over they're body to support when they lift so freaking heavy.
I haven't even seen or heard of these stretches, this guy is next level.
His shoulders have amazing range of motion.
Mohamed Rehab
Loh Jia Hung you've won sir
Hilarious!!
Love this dude since I found out about him. Using this routine from now on
you're not a weightlifter unless you have a very detailed 40 minute stretch routine
I would say Klokov's a weightlifter even tho he said in an interview he doesn't stretch anymore. It's also about genetics how much u have to stretch to stay mobile.
+Lauri Lahtinen Klokov has insane mobility, imagine how much stretching it took to get there in the first place...

Ahmar Camacho well he probably wants to relax them after a PR session
Does he foam roll before these stretches? Actually, do any olympic weightlifters foam roll or do they just stretch extensively?

i like to call the foam roller the cheap mans massage therapist lol
i once saw a clip of klokov foam rolling his hamstrings. but he just sat on a barbell.. so more ironbarrolling than foamrolling

Thank u ! so what is your opinion.. what should a weight lifter do before and after workout ? and how much should each one of them last?
nutica102 stretching has their use in after/before workouts. it honestly depends on the tightness and type of stretch from experience.
