I’m a Swedish 63 year old/young woman, mechanical engineer and I’ve watched you tube videos for several years now. I’m setting up a wood turning station for the first time in my life ( except for turning in my school years). Love your video and still learning. Thanks for sharing ❣️
Thank you so much! Very similar to my origin story, that began with around 6 months of obsessively watching wood turning videos, day and night. The next logical step was to get a lathe, I've not looked back since! Great to hear you are settling up a shop, exciting times!! Thanks for watching 😁
Absolutly crazy... and absolutly amazing!!! I love this vase!!! Woodturning in 90° degrees against the growing direction is a real special skill!!! Great!!! Chapeau 🎩
Thanks Tim👍 I watched this last week late at night so I’ve just watched it again now. I think that’s the best transition of an ordinary log into a stunning hollow form I’ve seen in a long time. When I’m feeling a little bit braver I may give it a go. Cheers
Extraordinary. What a sensation it must be for you to turn something so magnificent over in your hands and know you've made it yourself. I'm trying not to be envious but you're making it tough. Cheers mate and thanks as always.
Once again, such kindness!! Thank you Mark, I don't deserve you! This one took longer than expected to finish as I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Laburnum, same with yew. The toxins/poisonous aspects give me the heebie-jeebies. Not sure why as I wear a respirator and have no plans to directly ingest any bark, seeds or any of that nonsense. It's weird I know 😂😂 Thanks for watching mate, hope you're well!
Thanks Doug! As do I, nice little view while you're hollowing AND you don't have to stop the lathe every few passes to blow out the shavings! Win win 😁
Cheers Will! I have a bit of love/hate thing with laburnum, glad this one worked! Another attempt at a similar windowed form last year, got a catch near the end and it exploded 😂🤦
This is beautiful. I recently attempted a windowed hollowform from elm. It did not turn out nearly as nice as this. This makes me want to give it another shot. Great work.

Thank you so much! You should definitely try another, I've probably broken more than I have made at this point haha! Thanks for watching!
Nice work! gonna have to try this.
Thanks! It's a bit slow but well worth the effort!
Very nicely done. I really enjoy when you do pieces like this.
Thank you so much! Hollow forms are what I like to turn the most with multi axis a close second, perhaps I need to multi-axis a hollow form! Cheers!
Wow wow wow Tim! 😃
Thanks Val! 😁
great job.
Thank you sir!
Красиво! Делал я подобную вещь месяца 4 назад.
Thanks for watching Ivan! Cheers! 😁
Okay, I found it. Why is YT not notifying me of your stuff anymore? I've hit the black bell. Well, I'm here now...
Maybe YT punishing me for not being as regular as I once was 🤔😂
Lovely vase! I really like the branding tool. How did you make it?
Thank you so much! I had the logo cut into aluminium using a CNC then I shaped and added the wood handle. Works really well, great tool!
C'est quel bois s'il vous plaît ?
The wood is Laburnum. Thanks for watching!
