There is a mechanical locking device inside preventing the spring bounce while carried around. You just didnt unlock it and it does not sound as a Fender spring reverb unit should.
It's too bad they didn't demonstrate the reverb tank in action. I mean, what the heck was the point of playing the guitar in this video when the reverb wasn't even on???
I can't understand why so many people demoing reverbs turn the reverb mix down to a level where it's barely audible. You mention surf guitar - so why not turn it up to surf levels?
This video unfortunately does not do a good job at all representing a fender reverb unit, whether original or reissue. Furthermore, Dick Dale does not use two of these at once as the guy in this video is saying, he uses one of these reverb units, which is then from the reverb units output fed into a stereo splitter going into two Dual Showman amps feeding two different cabs. it’s a shame that a big company like musicians friend can’t get this right, they’re knowledge level is and has been starting to turn into most of the employees that work at Guitar Center unfortunately. Lastly a re-issue reverb unit is hardly the same as the original. They might look similar on the outside, but the original did not use a printed circuit board whereas the re-issues do. A 6K6 tube also was the tube used back then versus the 6v6 the reissues use.

Not much of a demo. I didn't hear the reverb. You should have cranked it some to demo it. Needed more surf reverb

More surf& less typical bloozy schmoozy crap.
le tigre I agree one hundred percent
Do you still have some on sale?
not quite exact... old ones had a 6k6 not a 6v6
The B-52s first 2 albums come to mind
There’s no reverb on the guitar in the demo. Great marketing,
That is not what the Reverb unit sounds like .They will blow your mind if it is on like it should be the stand alone sounds crazy good unlike this
Useless demo. You didn't unlock the spring did you?
is this true by pass? :) hahaha
