Going back and watching this again knowing how much you've learned about metal, the metal community and having gone to the trivium concert is definitely eye opening as to what a person can learn and experience in just a few months
The best part about this music video is that the band got word out that they were doing a music video, and any fans of the band that could get to that area should head over there and they could be part of it. Those people are all fans of the band that all got to go to what was probably the most intense live show ever. It's the most expensive video that record label has ever made too. Wish I was there.

He stands up with some difficulty and starts shuffling off towards the concert, practicing his moshing along the way. Welcome to the family bro :p

Corey Taylor is super versatile man. He freaking writes poetry. Dude is super smart and talented and probably likes hip-hop. Heavy metal is my favorite genre, but hip-hop is probably my second favorite. Great video dude.
Best Lyrics, best video, one of the best multi-talented bands of all time. Very underrated band. Anger is one of the most natural emotions we experience as humans, though we are told time after time to never ever express it, keep it locked away, hold it in. Through music like this, I get so much anger out of my system just by listening to people who are screaming out their feelings at the top of their lungs. It's very emotional, symbolic and therapeutic.
I believe this came out in 03’ or ‘04; this song brought Slipknot to the masses where people other than their fans or metalheads enjoyed them. And also their first hit song where there was no swearing
So this is where you first turned into a maggot (that's what a slipknot fan is called) ,, I'm a 49 yr old maggot, I just started listening to them about a yr ago.

I think you might like the songs "Wait and bleed" and "Spit it out" from their first album. They both incorporate hip hop and those are the songs that got me in to slipknot in the first place
Alex Hefner dude if you wamt to hear some REALLY CRAZY shit, listen to Infant Annihilator "Unholy gravebirth" they are a deathcore band and they are purposefully "over the top" and "extreme". Their music isn't really meant to be taken seriously, but it is absolutely insanely heavy.

GSMON GAMING Ooops... you're right. A quick Google search... and what is stated is Screamo is "a style of Emo" - Emo is defined as a music genre. Thanks for double checking that for me.
Love this man! For the music video, the band invited fans to come to the house and basically do whatever while they filmed. They had to pay for the damages to the house. They even said they didn’t know the house had a basketball hoop.
There was a song I remember hearing where it starts off really calm with someone walking in an old house and uncovering a piano or drums or something and I can't for the life of me remember the name of the song but I think I remember seeing you react to it so I guess i'll just watch all 291 vids in this playlist and hope I find it again.
Hey Alex next slipknot song for you? Slipknot - Snuff Thanks for making these videos man they are awesome and I love slipknot and duality and snuff are two of my favourite songs!
Duality takes me back, it was the first metal song I ever heard, and it was the song that started me on the path of a metalhead. Before my enlightenment, I only listened to rap and popular music, so the transition to metal was a journey I will never forget. Now I listen to everything, from classic orchestral to metal, (except most modern music, like mumble rap and modern pop).
I’ve been a huge Slipknot fan since the beginning. I have no idea why Duality is so popular....not my favorite. My favorites in no particular order Eyeless Spit it Out Heretic Anthem AOV Custer The Blister Exists Sic
The reason why it's so popular is that it is more palatable for mainstream listeners. The song has more of a melody and the screaming is spaced out enough to not alienate people that aren't into the heavier sides of metal. While I do agree with you that there are many other songs by Slipknot that deserve more attention, it's pretty easy to see why Duality would appeal to the average listener more than something like Eyeless or Sic.
I love this song. I have Bipolar II and every aspect of this song speaks to me. Sound, Lyrics, & Energy represents perfectly what my brain goes through and how it feels.
I feel you bro. Bipolar Type II from a very young age with a lot of other mental disorders running in the family. It’s nice to find music that appeals to the atypical nature of the human mind.
You should check out some Slayer "Raining Blood" for a non- beginner type of Heavy Metal. By the way, I'm 52 and have been listening to Metal since the 70's. So, not all "old" people are as lame as you may think...
Love the points you make in the video regarding the song. What a lot of people who are unaware of when it comes to music like Slipknot's, is the fact that you rarely find songs encouraging degradation of sex and abuse of alcohol and drugs.
Hahaha, watching this intro now is hilarious, I had no idea you ever did hip hop and kpop reactions, thought the whole concept was always reacting to metal.
Metal is actually verry deep. Most of these songs have deeper meanings. Like you said, Duality is about ther... Well... Dualities in life that we all face. Its a genre that makes you think about the deeper meanings...
I love how u actually have an appreciation for something so outside of your realm. Cool to hear u actually addressing what u like vs. what most people do which is like looking disgusted and can’t understand it
You want a really good song...when I first heard it on release I couldn't stop repeating it...Tech N9ne ft Corey Taylor (slipknot frontman) Wither.... ..hell of a song...I'm 30 loved slipknot since I was 11 wait and bleed first slipknot song iv ever heard..n im a rapper hip hop head all my life lol
Agreed Slipknot fan since before mainstream but also a huge Strange Music fan. But them crossing that genre was awesome. And picking a genius like Tech to do it with was great.
Please do, those two songs, plus "Fade to Black", are some of the best heavy metal songs ever written. Watch the official video for "One" and lyrics videos for the other two. The lyrics will blow you away with their messages.
Fun Fact; This video is one of the most expensive music videos in history. That house they shot it in was an actual home a family lived in and the family was paid millions in damage compensation.
he was partially correct, it was in foreclosure, but the family did sue them for damages, it was in the $500,000.00 dollar range nowhere near "millions".
In the event that you didn't know, the lead singer of Slipknot is Corey Taylor, who also sings in the band Stone Sour, which is much more laid back rock oriented than the metal brutality of Slipknot. Its pretty cool that he does enough different stylistic things that he saves the heavier stuff for slipknot.
Iv gotta say Alex.... I really enjoy watching thez reaction videos. And u HV now BCUM if not my absolute favorite person.....yr certainly up there as 1 of my very favorite. Keep'em comin! 😁💗
Funny enough, the whole album is clean. No expletives at all, and I think they did it to prove a point. If I recall correctly, someone basically said they were awful, and one-trick-ponies who couldn't make a song without cursing, so they made a whole album.
others id might suggest Pulse of the maggots The nameless (Sic) Wherein lies continue Surfacing Eyeless The heretic anthem people = shit disasterpiece Three nill the virus of life etc
Don't know when this passed a million views but congratulations! Watching you enjoy a lot of the music for the first time that I grew up listening to has helped me get through this rubbish year with a slight bit of my sanity left! You deserve it man.
I've been to house parties like this, at sun up it's like wtf happened ... where'd the house go? Ah memories. This song and particularly the video is one of my favorites for this very reason.
Hey Alex! :) I've been here, watching your metal / rock reactions for the past few months (yep, true metalhead, can't deny it) .. basically by accident ^^ .. but I love 'em! Your positive energy really makes my day everytime. Especially during these hard times right now, that's a real help for the mood .. I can tell you :D .. so first of all: THANK YOU VERY MUCH! So .. besides liking and subscribing, I thought I'd give you a special treat by recommending something, that you'll probably have never even heard of ;) I'm from Germany .. and here we have a very special metal band, who are doing something honestly spectacular in my eyes .. THEY ARE DOING A'CAPELLA METAL o.O!! That means, apart from a drumset, they are not using a single instrument besides their voices :D And from my personal experience I can tell you, basically nobody believes this until they have seen them live .. because they make it sound so real at times, that it's just unbelievable ^^ The band is called "Van Canto", they are doing a lot of covers of original metal songs, but they have their own creations as well which they don't need to hide under their covers (pun intended)! As a hardcore fan since the beginning, it's really hard to choose a song for you to react to, but I could at least limit myself to three ^^ .. so you can choose for yourself: 1. Badaboom (th-cam.com/video/Aeaz4s7q0Ag/w-d-xo.html) .. one of their most famous songs and a really nice video too. The guy you see first in the Video is actually a famous TV comedian from Germany who is also a big fan of them, so they included him to play the role of the evil super villain in the video ^^ 2. If I die in Battle (th-cam.com/video/-f8V1QSf7yg/w-d-xo.html) .. also a great song, especially since it contans some of their finer guitar solo imitations which will probably blow your mind :D 3. Hells Bells (th-cam.com/video/BuahSIrKxw8/w-d-xo.html) .. a cover of the famous ACDC song from their most recent Album .. and a nice illustration of how you can rearrange real Metal songs into A'Capella :) No worries .. all the songs are english, so you won't have to worry about understaning the lyrics ;) I really hope you find this comment helpful and that you and your family are safe and healthy and stay that way for the foreseeable future :) Please keep up you spirits and your great work!
Metal a capella!? So was geht? Faszinierend, werter Landsmann. Edit: Das geht nicht nur, das geht mächtig ab! Danke für den Denkanstoß, ich werde es Alex weiterempfehlen ;)

Marian McGregor there is more metal on the way! Thank you for watching 😬
Gojira is absolutely amazing! Stranded is a great intro song.
yes yes yes gojira is an exellent suggestion
AND Toxic Garbage Island, straight fire man
Yeeeeeeah Gojira!!!
And back to the start of it all.
You are too cute & I love how you don’t judge these other types of music !
I saw Slipknot in concert in the late nineties! They rocked!
I love how u actually have an appreciation for something so outside of your realm. Cool to hear u actually addressing what u like vs. what most people do which is like looking disgusted and can’t understand it
You want a really good song...when I first heard it on release I couldn't stop repeating it...Tech N9ne ft Corey Taylor (slipknot frontman) Wither....
..hell of a song...I'm 30 loved slipknot since I was 11 wait and bleed first slipknot song iv ever heard..n im a rapper hip hop head all my life lol
savior2356 sounds you like have incredible taste in music!!
Alex Hefner I love ALL types..music is my life makes my world turn
Agreed Slipknot fan since before mainstream but also a huge Strange Music fan. But them crossing that genre was awesome. And picking a genius like Tech to do it with was great.
RIP LEGEND JOEY
YOU WILL BE MISSED BROTHER
i am mattys mum i,m 62 & i love all this kind of music, ive also been to many metal concerts...never too old to rock
As a long time fan of Slipknot, I'm so glad you decided to join us on this journey.
And look at you now.
as a 43 year old rocker - i love this music, and my friend just showed me your channel! good stuff!
You need to listen to metallica, listen to "One" by them and "Master of Puppets" those are the essentials.
i can definitely do that!
Nice, you won't be disappointed
Please do, those two songs, plus "Fade to Black", are some of the best heavy metal songs ever written. Watch the official video for "One" and lyrics videos for the other two. The lyrics will blow you away with their messages.
Nothing else matters and unforgiven are also great
omg Metallica are beast , but they are still too Overrated ...
Devil in I slipknot you need to explore more Corey Taylor is a god even look at stone sour (his other band)
Im Rukzyn I can definitely make that happen 👏🏼👏🏼
And Im Rukzyn "The Devil in I" ? I just can't wait to see you doing a video about it. *smirk*
Fun Fact; This video is one of the most expensive music videos in history. That house they shot it in was an actual home a family lived in and the family was paid millions in damage compensation.
it was actually a foreclosure..no one lived there...and it was a lottery drawing to participate as fans
he was partially correct, it was in foreclosure, but the family did sue them for damages, it was in the $500,000.00 dollar range nowhere near "millions".
This my favorite version of Corey Taylor's mask
Duality is a good song but kinda weak for slipknot
Dan Mann do you have a specific song in mind you think I should check out?
Gematria is dope
others id might suggest
Pulse of the maggots
The nameless
(Sic)
Wherein lies continue
Surfacing
Eyeless
The heretic anthem
people = shit
disasterpiece
Three nill
the virus of life
etc
Dan Mann about time someone mentions gematria
There are some really good ones off of the latest album as well, like Custer.
Don't know when this passed a million views but congratulations! Watching you enjoy a lot of the music for the first time that I grew up listening to has helped me get through this rubbish year with a slight bit of my sanity left! You deserve it man.
Glad to see that you have started with one of the best slipknot songs for beginners
The video that started a metal head
Really? You want some real slipknot listen to Sic or wait and bleed.
Dean Murphy heretic anthem
Dean Murphy so this is fake?
Dean Murphy Heretic Anthem and People = Shit too. Plus Disasterpiece. Just anything off Iowa.
i very much agree
Agreed (Sic) is awesome (my favorite song by them)
I've been to house parties like this, at sun up it's like wtf happened ... where'd the house go? Ah memories. This song and particularly the video is one of my favorites for this very reason.
Hey Alex! :)
I've been here, watching your metal / rock reactions for the past few months (yep, true metalhead, can't deny it) .. basically by accident ^^ .. but I love 'em! Your positive energy really makes my day everytime. Especially during these hard times right now, that's a real help for the mood .. I can tell you :D .. so first of all: THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
So .. besides liking and subscribing, I thought I'd give you a special treat by recommending something, that you'll probably have never even heard of ;)
I'm from Germany .. and here we have a very special metal band, who are doing something honestly spectacular in my eyes ..
THEY ARE DOING A'CAPELLA METAL o.O!!
That means, apart from a drumset, they are not using a single instrument besides their voices :D
And from my personal experience I can tell you, basically nobody believes this until they have seen them live .. because they make it sound so real at times, that it's just unbelievable ^^
The band is called "Van Canto", they are doing a lot of covers of original metal songs, but they have their own creations as well which they don't need to hide under their covers (pun intended)!
As a hardcore fan since the beginning, it's really hard to choose a song for you to react to, but I could at least limit myself to three ^^ .. so you can choose for yourself:
1. Badaboom (th-cam.com/video/Aeaz4s7q0Ag/w-d-xo.html) .. one of their most famous songs and a really nice video too. The guy you see first in the Video is actually a famous TV comedian from Germany who is also a big fan of them, so they included him to play the role of the evil super villain in the video ^^
2. If I die in Battle (th-cam.com/video/-f8V1QSf7yg/w-d-xo.html) .. also a great song, especially since it contans some of their finer guitar solo imitations which will probably blow your mind :D
3. Hells Bells (th-cam.com/video/BuahSIrKxw8/w-d-xo.html) .. a cover of the famous ACDC song from their most recent Album .. and a nice illustration of how you can rearrange real Metal songs into A'Capella :)
No worries .. all the songs are english, so you won't have to worry about understaning the lyrics ;)
I really hope you find this comment helpful and that you and your family are safe and healthy and stay that way for the foreseeable future :)
Please keep up you spirits and your great work!
Metal a capella!? So was geht? Faszinierend, werter Landsmann.
Edit: Das geht nicht nur, das geht mächtig ab! Danke für den Denkanstoß, ich werde es Alex weiterempfehlen ;)
Yaaaa!!! More metal!!
Alex Jany you got it!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Listen to fit for a king or parkway drive
