I honestly love this family. There is always this humble man with sleeveless jackets. He is always at the front leading the flock and never talks And I saw an interview where he was actually talking about how he met his wife. Man you are blessd. Your kids are are always full of energy I love them and I love you all.. I love meru because of you. 8
They did that in Jamaica too the milkman collected milk by the gate of the farm's not anymore thing of the past in my country. Good to see the kids enjoying the walk.
Since I discovered this channel 4 days ago,i had to watch all the videos. You all blend well with nature, just the way life is supposed to be lived. I also love Gearge's simplicity and how he plays his role as a father and leader,it's something that i have grasped from your videos and has encouraged me to step up my game in my role of being a father. I have also learnt that moments with family are important and blending with nature as a family is full-filling. I have realized that life is not all about living in the big cities, always working and chasing paper.
Who would have imagined you'd be sitting by a fireplace in Africa... it's nice that there's a seasonal change to enjoy....as you walked there was scenery that reminded me of views in the rural hills of Jamaica near the Blue Mountains....where at certain times of the year it gets pretty cold..there are homes with fireplaces.
Across the ridge is Ihuririo / kabebero where I grew up. I can assure you this is heaven on earth! I love the way you explained to the children the use of maigoya-kikuyu name for Plectranthus barbatus as traditional toilet paper, that's awesome... living with nature.
Wow, a cool Vlog. This is now my favourite. Thank you for showing us around the area. "CBC in action'' with George explaining about the toothbrush and toilet paper. Thumbs up for George there 👍
The wiping leaves are of the Rwogoya plant, they are softer than the tissue. Still being used, believe me. The toothbrush is Mūtarakwe plant. Ooh George, you cracked me so much. I used those for decades, I almost forgot about them. Anyways, thank you for the memories. We love you guys, thank you for bringing home to us here in Georgia. Quick recovery makenze, I'm watching this after your surgery.
Our church St Benedict Iriaini Catholic church🙏really feeling connected that's my maternal home and I was born next to Othayaboys just down there and am married at Iriaini village but live at Naromoru.love you guys.❣️karibu nyumbani🙏

Hi Mekenzie! Thanks for this lovely video. I wish I was there. I saw my bestie and his cuppa-serious business tea is,eh? LOL to the traditional tissue paper. Please enchant us with some more of Iria-inî
😂😂😂 just as I was watching George giving the kids the toothbrush something crossed my mind about African tissues then there I saw George showing them the tissues,I bursted out laughing,😂😂😂 I hope you went the gatitu way through gathungururu, tambaya and joined the main road or mukurwe-ini kaheti to karatina, rivers and great landscape to see
George with the traditional tissue papers!! I laughed so hard from that demonstration!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣By the way in our tribe we call them ‘Maigoya’! I don’t know about Meru’s name for that though.
I.laughed so hard on the wiping part..but for the tooth brush I always do that because those things worked really good..I used to have no cavities or stains until I moved to America now all the time I have cavities and stains even after brushing with the toothpaste and real brush...I love your life in kenya...am soo ready to come back too and enjoy
Can you make a video and tell us what made you to relocate to Kenya from US and iron out the traditional similarities and differences between Kenya and US also tell us whether you'd prefer US or Kenya lifestyle so far since you relocated there
I hated rural life but now I miss it. My grandfather was from olkalou and had plenty of that toilet paper, I used it. 🤣🤣🤣as soft as the charming brand in USA. He would brush his teeth with those sticks this days tooth paste has whiter,.....who knows what! He lived to be 103, had all hit his teeth intact, never seen a dentist or gotten hospitalized.
Is it sissy,i have noticed sissy's teeth need bracelet to alined them👍 awesome video reminds me of that area during sports day playing football against kaheti, kiagoma, othaya nyeri etc was worth golden days
That tree is a Cyprus tree same one used for Christmas decorations but you have to look for straight ones with a reddish colour they qualify as the best tooth brush
Hahahahaha 😂😂. The African toilet tissue usage demonstration was the highlight. That's a beautiful place. Enjoy yourselves. Your family is so sweet and warm. Makes me feel good
I enjoyed the walk virtually. So beautiful 😍 I knew about the toothbrush but the leaves were a first! The illustration for the use was a lol moment!😂😂😂
Wow..my home.❤️..I know what you mean and how cold it is this season....🤗🤗. And the 'maigoya'😂😂..oh..and the traditional toothbrush aka..'mùthithida'..yaani cypress tree...
Awesome video 🥰🥰🥰it feels great to see you visiting my hometown for exploration purposes 💕💕so sweet the lessons daddy is giving the kids about nature it’s awesome
George: What are you holding Liam? Liam: I'm holding a traditional tissue paper.😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆. I remember using one of those leaves while going to the latrine, gosh some of the leaves had tiny rough textured spikes would really prick your butt😄😄😄😄
I like those bluish-green seats in your living room, oh not forgetting traditional tissue, the demonstration was perfect. the funny part is am not sure people used to wash their hands after using traditional tissue paper.
When I can access those leafs I prefer them over tissue paper. Had no idea you dropped by home though. I avoid that place at this time for its biting cold between June and August
George is right those were the tissue people used and by the way in the villages there are people who still use them infact if you ever visit a home and find that plant don't dare cut it down you will have done one big mistake for the family coz that plant has the very soft leaves than any other plant that exists hence making them suitable for being a tissue
😂😂 George is hilarious, not only did he let them know what those leaves were used for, he gave them a bonus demonstration!!
He cracked me up with that! Those kids will never forget!
I honestly love this family. There is always this humble man with sleeveless jackets. I shared the rwogoya demonstration with my classmates of the 70s. And they told well, thanks for the memories!
I hated rural life but now I miss it. My grandfather was from olkalou and had plenty of that toilet paper, I used it. 🤣🤣🤣as soft as the charming brand in USA. Both Meru and Nyeri are quite cold. But Nyeri has a different kind of cold.. A quiet cold.. Lol. So l prefer the Meru cold.
Meru isn’t that cold though. Nyeri, kirinyaga, Limuru, Nyandarua are the coldest
@@picsandvidstv1348 really? I have stayed in all those places.. Of course Nyandarua and Limuru take the cup. And true, Meru is better.
'Maigoya' is the name of the tissue paper in the local language
I like the view so much.
My home place.
Traditional tissue was the best during that time.
Your videos are lit. Keep it up
Thanks so much ☺️☺️
Yess...Natural.tooth brush!

Every homestead had those 'maigoya' plants near the toilets. 🤗🤓🤣🤣. I miss those old days.

We planted the tissue papers near the toilet,so you just peak some wen entering to the toilets. You are just near my village.Enjoy.
The birds sound so wonderful.
