Keep looking! Pray to God and ask, ask, ask for guidance! I did and found it over a process of time and effort. Look at this RuralVacantland.com. Lately this guy has been selling cheap homes. but depending how desperate you are you can creatively make a piece of land work somehow. I may make another video on this subject so stay tuned and God bless you, Susana! ruralvacantland.com/

I love it. That’s called “I’m gonna fix up one room at a time - when I get good and ready.” This dude will always have some money with this mindset. People don’t NEED 3,000 s.f. houses.

@Lola Montez You are right. Somebody already tore out a lot of the stuff he would have had to, so it's worth even more to him. Even if he eventually put $20,000 into it, it's a $25,000 house. Building that today would be triple at least, plus interest on top of that. And he can do it as he's able. There is NO down side to this.

This story is very much like mine. Lost my first home to a short sale during the mortgage crisis I said the next one I'm paying cash. Paid $4500 for a 2 bedroom one bath on 0.62 acres. I can see and hear the train from my front porch. Located the owner and made an offer. No mortgage! Everything I have was either free or half off or less except for the electrical and plumbing. Former school bus driver. Bought a shed to hold materials needed for the rebuild, it was due for demolition, I took it down to the studs. Changed the layout. The hardest part was dealing with the building inspector. Family and friends help make it happen for me. What goes around comes around. Act as though it is. Give a helping hand and you'll get one in return. Faith without work is dead. If you want it you can have it it's the diamond in the rough. Good luck!

@@extremebudget This is exactly why I can never buy a damn house!! I am just like you and I would ALWAYS save money after I got out of college and I had a part time minimum wage job because that was ALL I COULD GET. BUT I ultimately saved up $14k because I was renting a place with my dad, but then he went to prison so I had to pay the full rent by myself. I was terrified to spend the $14k because I wanted to use it for a house or to do a down payment with owner financing somewhere. But unfortunately I live in Maryland so my only options were in other states because you will never find anything at all in this state with owner financing or that is an extremely low price. Even something with issues is going to run in the 50k+ range. As a result I never got to buy a house because it was too far for me to keep looking out of state when I had a job, and I ultimately had to spend the $14k before getting a house because I developed hodgkin's lymphoma and had to go on disability since I couldn't work, but they will take away your disability if you have more than $2k in savings even if you can't work. So I had to get rid of all but $2k which I did by paying off part of a student loan. But I just WISH I could have kept looking for a house and used the $14k to buy a house instead. Nobody around me could even understand why I had $14k but didn't want to spend it, including my husband when we got married, so I felt pressure by everyone to spend it too😢😭

But then I had to pay the full rent when my dad went to prison, so I was terrified to spend the $14k because I knew I would never again have an opportunity to save up that much money. I REALLY wanted to find a house and put the $14k towards it, but I wasn't able to wait to see anything on the market because I had to get disability and they won't give it to you if you have more than $2k saved so I had to spend all but $2k and I paid off some student loans. It just pisses me off because I have never even had a job that paid more than minimum wage, and yet I saved all that money. I just shudder to think what I could have saved if I at least had a full time job or one with better pay. And now I am back to being stuck paying rent and only dreaming that I can get a house for a low price or that has good financing before an investor gets it😕

My sisters have it good rn. They found a house in a small village on the Yellowhead(#16) highway here in Canada for 20k. While it is quite small it has a generously large property around it, in 5 years or so of living there they were able to afford to buy the vacant lot next door. They own more land than anyone else in the family!!! And did so collecting AISH(a disability benefit), gone are their days of paying sky high 4 digit rent. Forever. Most of the prairies are dotted with small towns so desperate for new residents that some have even given away land for $1 a peice. An ideal option for folks with disabilities, and folks who fit into a work from home lifestyle. Same could be said of us oilfield tradesman, we often go up to the patch for weeks or months at a time followed by months of time off, no need to live in an urban area where land prices are through the roof.

It sounds like you would be a good candidate for a tiny house movement. Back when Jay Leno was younger and was hosting the Tonight Show he invited Jimmy Carter on his show. I'll never forget what Jimmy Carter said. He said many of the things he tried to do as President was to solve the housing problem. The problem was people would take out 30 year loans and default on them because they would lose their jobs, change jobs, or have a life circumstance like divorce or health happen to them. Jimmy Carter couldn't understand why it was all such a problem because he said all boys where he grew up all knew how to build a house by the age 14. When he left office he built homes one by one. Many years in another interview it all made sense. Jimmy Carter's house wasn't very large. It was small. He then explained a small house is all people need. It seems to me the solution for most self sufficient men is a small house.

It was a rough 7 years or so but I did something similar with my partner. We lost our home during the housing crash/recession and decided to try to buy something outright, regardless of condition. No more banks. We had a goldilocks housing experiences, the first house we bought was too small, then we bought a house that was way too big and two years ago we moved to our current house which is just perfect, mortgage free. So glad to see that you are making your housing dreams a reality too. Thanks for sharing.

This sounds like my life, with short term jobs , no job, and using skills to earn money from home. All my savings are gone and I am working on starting a small business. But I really hate how renting eats what I earn. Praying to get out of this next year. Happy to see this. It gives me hope.

@@PreppyPrincess777 I voluntarily paid Mom rent for my room after I got a job, but it should have happened anyway. You're NOT helping your adult children by 'insulating' them from the world; you need to be teaching them how this crappy world works and paying rent or a mortgage is a part of that. Then you can do what my Mom did- put the extra money away so you will have cash to loan your child when they need that kind of help- which they will. I didn't know she was doing that till much later in life- I had a very wise Mom when it comes to money.
If your parents (or friends or family) are needlessly using you for general income then get the he!! away from them- nobody needs leeches in their lives. Another life lesson best learned early on.

Call a plumber to check main drain line and sewer line. Also no insurance company will give you a policy if it has a major problem.4. Check the flood zone to be sure it's worth fixing for long term living.5. Have a bug company check for major termite damage. Not the next day but that night. He told me that I just needed one day clean and basically I will never look back. Just give me 24 hours, then it will turn into 38 then 72. That person who is suffering from addiction has to become tired of his or her lifestyle, that's what happened to me towards the time Jesus saved me. I walked around so tired of it but I was still going to buy that drug that had me at 160 pounds. I was mentally sick and also physically ill. Smoking weed really kept me really sick on the stomach. Jesus also said to me that it was no guarantee that I was going to live if I took another hit of a blunt. He said if you stop I will save you. I was a laborer working at construction at the time as well, when it was brought to my attention that there was a call center across the street from the building that I was working in and sometimes we would be up on the roof of that building pushing icey water to the drains. I would be freezing, mad at myself because I knew that I could do so much better than that. So I said to the Lord Lord I want to be back in the office. The Lord said to me that if you want to be there you have to sacrifice smoking drugs and I will get you there. When I tested for the job through a temp agency my scores where horrible to the point that the recruiter said that he didn't know if he could help me get the job that I wanted? But I said to him submit my resume don't worry about my test scores. Just do it.well I was set up for that interview and was hired. That was about three years or so ago, now I am full-time working from home.
I guess I say all this to say that your son has to hit rock bottom like alot of us did to let Jesus intervene.
Sounds like your son has a tremendous talent that God wants to introduce to the world but he is letting Satan win? See Satan does not want God's chosen to win, if he can continue to keep your son down he will. It is Satans job to keep Gods people down.
Keep praying never ever give up. Remember the battle is not yours it is the Lords. There is something out here that God wants to give your son but he won't give it until he is clean. Heck I wish there was a way for you to get in touch with me too.
As far as enabling your son? Are you giving him monies and he goes out and spends it on whatever he is addicted to? If that is the case? Then stop givening him money.

Awww!!! I'm happy for you. I always say to myself, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I can relate to what you went through without knowing your life story. I have a feeling you went through a lot. And yes, 3 yrs sleep sounds about right. Congratulations in your new house. I pray everything goes smoothly and eventually you get to help your parents as they helped you. I know one day will be my turn to sing Hallelujah!!!! 😊

You have to save your search on realtor.com app and allow updates, it will let you know when the foreclosures hit.. we have an offer on a property now like this, 2.5 acres with a big shop and a older doublewide NOBODY wants to touch, they think it can't be fixed I guess... we will see
Habitat is an awesome resource for a reno on a budget, we plan to use them extensively...
We're going to have to replace a lot of framing siding roofing and drywall the interior and redo flooring and kitchen bath redo, but for $15k whos complaining, we can't even find land for that and this has a shop on a slab..

Tuning in from the UK. I am so happy for you. I am smiling from ear to ear - anyone would think I had purchased the house myself. Let me know if you need a housemate. You are very disciplined and goal oriented in what you want to achieve. I would soon sell my two homes here to join you! Blessings heap upon you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I'm really happy for you. I had a lengthy medical condition, and lost my house. Now, at my advanced age, having pretty much lost everything, I'm a ship without a rudder. Wish I had building/carpentry skills, but without, and alone, I can't do what you are doing. More power to you. I'm pay way too much for rent, and trapped. You're going to turn that cute cottage into a jewel, and you deserve your good fortune. Blessings!

I'm there too! I started with nothing and still have most of it left! Build as I have money, no debt. No one can take it away and it becomes whatever I want it to be. Congrats, my Brother, to your life!
