Wow! Thank you so much, Dirk! I was in parades '79 & '80 and then in Wardrobe and I knew you pretty well. How fun to see everyone back then. We were so young!! I'm Debbie - last name Bell when I was in parades, then Reeder when I was in Wardrobe (was married to Tim, Dapper Dan). Thank you for bringing back those really fun times! I hope everyone working there now has as much fun as we did!!
When I was a little kid I wanted to be a costume character at Disneyland .. I never did .. when I was grown I wanted to work for Muppets so I did work for Disney after all ... Dirk .. I had no idea you did this my friend.
What a time machine you've posted here! I saw a LOT of familiar faces all leading back to happy memories. I was "Pooh" in your Part 1 segment. You'll see me in the background in some backstage shots, as well. Good fun. Good friends. Good times. Thanks for sharing these gems!!!
You’re video’s are awesome!! The characters were a lot more fun to interact with before they had to worry about being accused of being inappropriate with guests. Looks like “being friends” with a character was a blast back then!!
I want to work at WDW as a face character! I'm currently in my sophomore year in high school, I'm a good actress and a great dancer, I would love to be Minnie Mouse but I know that's never gonna happen, how was your audition, what did they look for? and how was working as a character?
was there any specific reason why "t's A Small World was removed from the Electrical Parade after the '88 season? (I hgope they didn't go down in flames like "Return To Oz"
I just love to encounter a Character Cavalcade. Or just a parade with the band and characters scrambling at once. P.S. In the final scene, was that Paul Castle in the Mickey tuxedo? He was the main Mickey from 1961 to 1986.
@1dwgogo2 Well Debbie .. So glad you viewed this clip. That's why I post these.. so folks like us can enjoy the good'ol days ! Please say hello to tim for me .. Hope you can view some of my other clips too. Thanks ..
What a cool trip back to the Seventys, what an awesome time, Star Wars, Trans AM was hotter then Fire ! CB radios 10-4 good Buddy the Original SNL crew oh if I could back 8 -)
Question: Considering this is from the late '70s, did Disneyland do or have anything special with the film "Pete's Dragon"? That's my all-time favorite Disney movie.
I love you Brer Fox 🦊😘❤️😍💋💕💞🥰💘

Puppet, it's hard, sweaty, exhausting work...so worth it.

Who was doing Minnie Mouse in 1977 and 1979?
Thanks for sharing.
Do you know exactly when the Mickey and Minnie costumes improved from five-fingered to four fingered gloves?
P.S. Love pre-1990 Pooh.
1978 from what i've checked or December 1977, which i saw in another comment
@dirkthevent Well, I checked photos and the earliest four-fingered Mickey I saw was from December 1977.
@dirkthevent I think it was the late 1970's (like 1977-78). I've seen clips of Mickey with four-fingered gloves from that period.
I just love to encounter a Character Cavalcade. Or just a parade with the band and characters scrambling at once.
