The only word I can think of to accurately describe this channel is "satisfying." On paper this should not be this interesting yet here I am once again watching another video about unclogging culverts and learning about how their built, what happens over time, how nature has an effect, how culverts have changed over time and more. But most of all, watching you remove the debris and have the water flow return to the way it was intended is just so satisfying.

Man, I've been binge watching this channel for the last 3 days. I've heard the word "culvert" more times than in the last 30 something years of my life (including version in my native language) and...yes, this is "satisfying". Actually so satisfying to watch that I had to stop a bit and think about what makes it so good.
It is so different from all those shows, social media etc. that attack you with and addict you with sudden rush of emotions. This one is much more healthy, steady and constructive. The subject may be trivial at first sight but the more you think about it the more important it becomes (especially this lake drain thing). It's amazing at what good spirited, humble people can do as a hobby so well attuned to their nature. Good work post 10, keep it going!

In a couple of towns that I lived in, I regularly cleared the storm drains and gutters on the paved streets that I lived on.
If they weren't cleared, leaves, sticks and silt caused blockages that would back up the street.
Sometimes the accumulated water froze and caused additional issues.
This was the worst in autumn and spring.
    It is a satisfying pastime.
Keeping in mind safety, I would recommend doing so for the closest few storm drains near your home.
I used a metal shovel, garden and leaf rake, buckets/bins, a trowel and a wagon.
Dry boots, thick waterproof gloves, warm clothes that can get mucky is all that you need to wear.
Any cleared debris left near the storm drain or gutter would be dumped back in by residents within days, so must get removed to an appropriate location.
I also cleared snow about 4 feet in any direction from the streets' fire hydrants.

The most amazing part to me about these videos is how incredibly knowledgeable Post 10 is, if these were just normal unclogging videos then they wouldn't be that interesting.
Never stop being yourself Post 10!

It's good to see people going out and doing their bit to help out the communities I live in Swindon Wiltshire England and there was a footpath that had been overgrown for years so one day I started cutting it back now got 2.5 miles of boundary trails and connected the whole village with walkways good for dog walkers and mountain biking

Great video! Especially the part where you showed us how you waddle through the culverts! We always wondered how you manage that!
😝 The camera lens doesn't always show how high it is in there for a person. Neat ice scepter at 3:30 ! And the granite culvert in the end DID look really neat!

Post 10, as someone who's spent time clearing debris from culverts & small dams, a couple recommendation on tools. For culvert work, look into getting what's known as a cultivator rake, a/k/a refuse hook or potato rake. The head is narrower than a garden rake, but with longer tines, like a small, bent pitchfork, & I find it much more handy for breaking up & moving tangled woody debris that you often deal with, & also as a retriever with a swing-twist-pull technique. It's ok for breaking up dirt & muck, & even works as a come-along for moving smaller rocks. Get the stoutest tines you can find, & a one piece synthetic/metal handle will stand up better to the conditions. If you still favor a garden-style rake for clearing grates, the Fiskars PRO series is the gold standard, as is the whole Fiskars line of yard tools. Good luck, & keep that water flowing!

Post 10 You should get a job with your Road service because you seem to do more work than those maintenance guys as they never do anything right but cause more problems. I do admire you for doing what you do and you do actually know what you're talking about well done keeping all the drains clear stops flooding homes and roads. I love watching you clear drains and I do like what you do as you keep everything flowing.

I guarantee you that you wouldn’t want Post 10 to kick ya if he’s duck walking half mile through 3 foot culvert. I giggled when I seen his Bass fishing hat. Could you imagine being on a boat with Post 10 and he couldn’t get out all the energy he has with the things he does on this channel. He would probably be doing some deep thinking. Post 10, thank you for being a beautiful American and portraying to the world how awesome most of the people are in this country. Disabled veteran salutes you young man. I hope this reaches you and those you love in great health and happiness❤️🙏😎
