Newish to windsurfing, is the meaning of float and ride to waveride in non planing conditions with a large enough volume wave board ? I’m 80kg, am thinking of getting a starboard kode 125 for this in moderate Florida winds on days with a swell , seem about right to you ? Thanks !
You are correct about the meaning of float and ride condition. I am 65Kg and my big board is a 84L. 125L seems to be on the big side but it's hard for me to give you advices since you are 15Kg heavier. 105 L would probably be enough.
Great vídeo. How much weight do you guys have? What was the wind strenght? Why don't you sailed with a bigger sail, like a 5.8/ 6.0? Is the drone following you automatically?
I filmed from the beach. It was too light for me to sail. I weigh 140 pounds. My biggest board is a 75L, and sail a 4.7. Dan is about 155 pounds and his biggest sail is a 5.3. Going with a bigger sail is no fun in the waves, because of the boom size and weight. Some of the bigger guys do have 5.6, but you won't see any sail bigger than that. As long as it is possible to water start, not planning is not such a big deal, since, like surfer we will use the wave to gain speed. The wind was probably around 14 knots at the beginning and dropping 12 knots, to like nothing.
@@baikelai thank you very much for your feedback. the video is really nice. I weight 98kg so i was wondering that if I were there, would I will be able to windsurf. My biggest board it's a wave board with 115lts, 226cm....
@@CaSuper123 115L is 17L above your weight. That seems very reasonable. My board is 75L and I weight 63 kg, which is 12L above my weight. The thing is that Waddell gets actually very good thermal wind during the season (May to September), so I'll not worry too much about the very light wind days.
It’s just a seal. But Dolphins and sharks have been seen at Waddell. Most people have 5/4 mm wetsuit for the winter time. The water temperature is around mid 50 right now. Not too cold.
Nice filming and production! Look at all that sand. Can't wait to get back there and sail with the locals again. See you soon.
Thanks. The vibe is great among the windsurfers at Waddell. Looking forward to seeing you.
Hey Christophe, good work, impressive! (Ra'id)
Hello. Long time not see. When are you paying a visit?
Nice!:)
Thanks

Hey is that a dolphin or a shark at 1:42? Board and sail sizes are nice, but I wanna know wetsuit thickness.

You rocking the drone now?
Trying. But it is more scary than windsurfing :)

1:42 Seal!
Yes. The seal is in a hurry. Waddell is not a safe place for those small 🦭 with all those 🦈
Umm. Yea. ME LIKEY

there's no wave to big or wind too light for Dan C...
should be a bumper sticker...lol...

Oregon?
It’s Waddell Creek in California, about 30 minutes north of Santa Cruz. It’s true that place feels very remote.
@@baikelai great!!!
