to my untrained eyes it looks like the process of fabrication of that round aluminium control panel there took an awful lot of material , you begin with a large aluminuim plate and apply fabrication process to a large portion of it but actually only take about 20% as the ready product and its not like you're folding or anything, just cutting out that round piece...
