- A second strumstick made for my buddy Steve. I've had this idea in mind since making the first one,i wanted to use unconventional materials this time ,but like the last one it's based on a mcnally, and I'm so happy with the end result. It's exactly as I hoped it would be. And it sounds completely amazing too!! This one has 2 switchable electric pick-ups, which gives it 3 subtle sound differences.

That's a nice instrument! Love the music your mate played as well! Great video!
Thank you Pierre 😊
As a cigar box guitar maker. Those are some very unique ways to do it. Fretting the aluminum neck/fretboard with glue...too cool !!
Thanks , I just enjoy making these instruments but I think it shows I'm just making it up as I go 🙂
Just got a Trail Dulcimer, it has a bootlace for a neck strap. It finally calmed down, and is staying in D A D after Strumstick G D G, and Chanzy F C F. I love the droning effect you can get. As far as effect pedals it flanges perfectly with a reverse delay.
Nice 🙂
Really very nice build and sound, if i may make a suggestion, put one tuning machine one side and two on the other, ie one left, two right tuners or viceversa, creates more space for tuning, this is what i and most cigarbox makers do
Thanks ,and thanks for the tip 🙂
Fantastic! I suppose the next step would have to be all aluminum... then you could use it to play heavy metal. 😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great build and great video man loved it ❤
Thank you Steve that's very kind 🙂
Very nice! I’m a wood guy and do it with a cigar box guitar.
Thank you 🙂👍
Tiene un sonido muy agradable. Los trastes están localizados en una escala mayor?
I'm not sure I took measurements off a friends Mcnally strumstick
I’ll take one. Where and how much?
Haha that's a one off , but really happy you liked it 🙂👍
Thanks for watching 👍
I recently inherited a mountain dulcimer and while I love it, I can't help but think I'd have a lot more fun if it wasn't a lap instrument and if I could run it through effects. So when I see this? Well, it ain't the heat. It's the cupidity.
Thanks 🙂

Might be worth trying one of these on your mountain dulcimer to add that extra dimension 🙂
@@No1projects I tried an iRig and it worked in a lovely fashion. Thank you so much for your suggestion -- it paid off. Next step? Frippertronics.
Trail Dulcimer and external jack.
Very nice man. Different, creative, nice workmanship, and sounds great. Bravo!
Thanks I really enjoyed making it 🙂

Love it. Has a unique sound to it too. I too cannot play guitar but would to be able to build one someday.
Thanks Martin get building I know a guy 🙂
Try a cigar box guitar build. Measure twice, cut once.
Check out Cigar Box Guitar here on YT..lots of info pn playing and building!
Aluminium and pop rivets - cant't go wrong with that! :D
I know right 😁
@@No1projects Pop rivets into wood took me by surprise, tho. How have they held up?
@@jdubya7139 Still holding strong 🙂
I love the sound your instrument creates. I have been building 3 string Cigar Box Guitars (ok only 2 so far) and I find your build very inspiring. Using an aluminum square tube for the neck and then blending it into the body was awesome! CBG's are all about using what you have at hand and making a good sound with those materials. Your strumstick truly captures that theme and succeeds at it.
Thank you
I really enjoy making them (also only 2 so far) I've got plans in my head to make a 4 string in the new year ,
Maybe one day I'll learn to play .
Really appreciate your kind comments 🙂
@@No1projects Don't be shy about trying to play your instruments. I started practicing the CBG just over 2 years ago, after buying one on Etsy. There are so many 3 string guitar song tutorials (for the CBG but the Strumstick will definitely work too) you will find one you like and then you can slowly work on mastering it. I have slowly built my song library with those videos. I am not very good, but I always enjoy practicing and playing. Its truly a wonderful feeling when the instrument produces pleasing sounds in your own hands. IF you ever tried the 6 string and gave up, like I have so many times, you will find the 3 string to be a way to reopen that door and succeed in playing a string instrument.
@davidboudreau4054 I'll give it a go , thanks for the encouragement 👍
That’s super cool dude ✌️& it sounds great 😂
