Thanks for the review! I plan to start The Way of Kings this year.. just so much on my tbr. I enjoy Sanderson. Really like the Last Empire, which I need to continue Mistborn too. I’ll come back to this review once I catch up hopefully soon!
I agree that the end of WoR was one of the best endings to a book I’ve ever read, even better than Oathbringer. I find it funny how our perspectives are basically opposite when it comes to those two books though haha. Looking forward to watching this video when I finish RoW!
I knew it was Kelsier the moment I read "lord of scars". I'm glad his name wasn't outright said... the investigation is one of my favorite parts of reading. I also love the convoluted magic system, personally. The magic systems are some of my favorite parts of Brandon's works.
Thank you for watching! Maybe I need to reread Mistborn, but Lord of Scars just wasn't enough for me, but then again, I've only read the books once. Also, I do on the whole like Brandon's magic systems, it just got a little too much for me here, but the overall book is amazing.
Totally agree about Shallan and the DID sections. I did not find them interesting but loved the resolution of it at the end. I also didn't know people didn't like Adolin lol, I've liked him basically from the beginning. I'm curious what you think about Szeth and his sword. I was very excited to see Szeth begin to follow Dalinar and I actually love his sword hah. I don't know why, but I love his sword's dogged determination to be unsheathed and then how crazy he becomes when he is unsheathed. Anyways, great video!
Szeths sword is interesting, but if you want a cool sword with a mind of its own, you’ll definitely like Warbreaker. I think that idea is handled better there. I like how Szeths character has become so loyal to Dalinar though.
Just watched the spoiler free portion. I've also heard some skeptical thoughts regarding this book, so I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I began my Cosmere journey earlier this year after my family insisted that I read Mistborn, and I finally got around to starting Stormlight about a month ago. My goodness Sanderson is my favorite author of all time (I haven't read much fantasy, but I think this is still valid lol). I recently finished Words of Radiance a few days ago and it's by far the best book I've ever read. I was speechless after finishing it. Still am. The Way of Kings isn't far off either. I've been enjoying absolutely everything by Sanderson so far. Can't wait finish up the current Cosmere material.
Words of radiance is indeed an amazing book. I personally prefer his Standalones, warbreaker and Elantris better than anything else he’s written, but I’ve loved literally everything I’ve read of his. Hope you continue on with your Sanderson journey. I have several Cosmere related videos coming in the next few months Thank you for watching.
@@jonathankoan I wasn't as big on Elantris as you are (still enjoyed it, especially the Sanderlanche ending), but Warbreaker was my favorite Cosmere novel up until Words of Radiance. I've very excited for the standalone secret projects coming next year. Looking forward to your upcoming Cosmere videos!
I missed the Thaidakar reveal the first read too. I think he doesn't want to spoil readers who aren't reading in release order. I didn't read until afterwards but Mistborn Secret History makes it way more obvious and is one of the more exciting Cosmere books lorewise that I have read.
I'm not going to listen to the video since I haven't even started Stormlight yet 😅 but I still wanted to add a view to the vid. I'm on Elantris atm (I already read the Mistborn trilogy) so I'll get to them eventually. Love the vids! Keep up the good work

That’s what I’ve heard. I just bought Arcanum Unbounded and plan to read Secret eventually, before Lost Metal comes out.

Thank you for the support! Hope you enjoy reading the Cosmere.
